*** I'm going to agree with that but also the science part. He's whacked but his passion here seems for science. He's no doubt spent years upon years detaching twins, so his next step is to unite people (lol) and make a pet. It's a weird jump for anyone sane, but not exactly that out there if someone was that science brilliant and that obsessed with twins as we are lead to believe from what little characterization we see from him and his home.

** Heiter is based off of the real-world Dr. Josef Mengele, along with other Nazi scientists and medical researchers whose "experiments" weren't any better. Without going into too much detail, their "experiments" were often just the result of a double-dose of sadism and curiosity, with the outcome already being both obvious and inevitable. He clearly knows that his Centipede won't survive on its own, which is why he provides an IV drip for nutrition and to prevent dehydration. He's just on a sadistic power trip and wants to see exactly what happens to the three subjects, along with how long he can keep them alive.

* How in the hell did Martin, the VillainProtagonist of the second movie, manage to get a job as a security guard? His psychiatrist outright calls him mentally challenged, he's in terrible shape, clearly has very poor eyesight judging from those thick glasses of his and is incontinent. Also, how in the hell did he get a ''gun in the UK?'' It's possible to legally own some firearms there, but not a handgun.

** I'm honestly more curious why the first thing Katsuro did when getting the scalpel wasn't handing it down the line so they could cut themselves free from one another. They wouldn't be able to stand due to the knee procedure, but it'd still have been easier for them to get up the stairs.

* Why doesn't the first guy attack the doctor? He seems young and strong, and the doctor is an aging nerd. Even with his anus attached to someone's mouth, he should have been able to grab the doctor, yank his feet out from under him, wrestle him and strangle him. At the very least, he should have tried.

** Also the way the first film portrays the doctor seems to put emphasis his fascination that turned to sick obsession came from siamese twins. Two beings that have to share some part of the body. In his mad science ravings i guess he chose digestive track so they could have something edible? Even though given that the film does have him use IVs (even if they are that prominently featured) so clearly he did use some thinking about how to make it live longer.

* I get that the big bad is nuts in the head, but really, if his plan is actually instrumentality as opposed to "I need a clever conversation piece and a novelty coffee table just ain't gonna cut it," you'd think Sign No. 1 that turning mankind into an [[IncrediblyLamePun ATM machine]] wasn't gonna pan out was that its biology only worked when supplemented with life-support machines. I know, ExcusePlot and all, but damn, Mad Scientist Guy, you could've done much more awesomely horrible things than slake your desire for corporophagia.

** Accordint to TheOtherWiki they were wearing an especial underwear with a prostetic that allow the actor to bite some sort of rubber object giving the impression that they were joint anus-to-mouth, but not really near the anus.

** I think this might be classified as the other end of the screwed up spectrum. The idea of the whole series existence is as you say from the director's own mind. But in the film you are commenting on, the doctor does hook them up to IVs each night. So by that he seems to at least know that he can't expect them to live on it alone.

* Why would ''anyone'' with ''any'' sort of degree in science/biology think that a human would be able to survive eating another human's waste products? You know, the stuff they ''can't digest properly''? Just be honest and say that you're doing it because you have screwed-up fetishes, don't try to come up with stupid scientific explanations to "justify" your screwed-upness.

* How was the girl that ended up in the middle not able to carry her friend in the attempted escape? The friend weighed atmost 140 pounds. She should have been able to carry her friend, not have to struggle just to barely be able to drag her. THe effort put into the dragging also brings up another thing. How were her feet not cut when she was walking on the glass, or her freinds legs not cut when being drug through the glass?

** The middle and back actors really had to play large parts of the film with their mouth at someone else's butt, right?
*** Oh, I'm sure they were wearing underpants and some padding over their asses. Altough shooting in a hot studio with your nose right in someone's sweating butt can't have been fun...
** Why did the police not call for backup immediately, especially after [[spoiler:Seeing the Human Centipede in Heiter's Bedroom?]]
** Why was the truck driver the only person Heiter gagged? With all the shouting Lindsay, Jenny and Katsuro do during his lecture you'd think he'd wanna keep ''them'' quiet, too.
