*** It's likely Bob & Amy told them that one of them could have the room, if they could decide which one of them has it, & they couldn't decide so the issue was dropped); or that if they wanted separate rooms, they had to sort the basement out themselves, but the thought of making some effort put them off. It's also possible that they simply didn't feel they could trust one of the boys to behave if their bedroom was in the basement whilst everyone else was upstairs.

Gabe & PJ started sharing a room because they couldn't move any of the kids into the basement at that time, and they didn't take Teddy's old (larger) room when she moved into the basement because the Duncans already had to redecorate Teddy's old room for the baby & the room in the basement for Teddy - If the boys took Teddy's room, that would mean they'd need to redecorate a third room, which would be an uneccesary expense when they had a baby on the way.

* PJ and Gabe share a room. They must have shared a room before Charlie was born, based on context. Yet somehow there was room for Teddy to move into another room. Why did the boys have to share?
** There's some uncertain rule about girl and boy siblings not sharing a room together.
** Yeah, but it's never explained why Teddy and Charlie couldn't share a room, since a baby wouldn't need a whole room to itself. Also, Teddy has expressly said that the boys shared a room before Charlie was born, despite there apparently being extra room in the basement.
*** Because Teddy is 15 years older than Charlie, and would need her own space. It's also likely that the extra room in the basement was used for storage, before the Duncans had to move Teddy into the basement.
*** So they had extra space, admittedly taken up by stuff, neither of the boys complained and asked to move the stuff so they could have their own room? I'd trade one day of heavy lifting and moving old furniture in exchange for my own room.
*** One of two things - 1) Bob & Amy didn't want one of the kids living in the basement, but only moved Teddy downstairs because they needed to free up a room for Charlie; 2) PJ already had the room in the basement, but had to start sharing with Gabe so that Teddy could move into the basement & Charlie could have Teddy's old room.
*** 1) Are you telling me that PJ put up with Gabe when there was room in the basement? It wouldn't take an amazing amount of pleading to get to move into the basement.
*** 2) When is it stated he moved in with Gabe ''after'' Charlie was born?
*** In response to 1 it is possible that he did ask but they couldn't get to it. I come from a family that's one bedroom short and we have a room in the basement but it's really messy down there and we don't know what to do with all the stuff so we've never been able to get it clean enough for the room to be livable, that may have been the situation and having another kid sort of forced them to get it done. It stops making sense there, since Teddy and Charlie really should be the ones sharing. Or at least Gabe and PJ should have Teddy's room, since it's bigger than theirs. Chalk it up to {{Parental Favoritism}}.
*** Again, Charlie & Teddy should ''not'' be the ones sharing a room, considering that babies have a habit of waking up in the night & screaming for their parents to change[=/=]feed them. No parent in their right mind would have a 15 year old sharing a room with a toddler, when they could have a 17 & 11 year old sharing a room. However, I will admit that the only argument I can see for P.J. & Gabe getting the smaller room, is that Amy & Bob are expecting him or Teddy to move out in a few years so once that happens, all the kids still at home will be able to have their own room.
*** If the baby cries it'll wake her up anyway. I'm sure PJ and Gabe wake up when she cries just from being on the same floor with her, being in the same room won't make any difference. For PJ moving out they don't seem to expect that to happen any time soon, and even if they do that doesn't give any reason why they wouldn't be able to just move Charlie/Teddy/Gabe around afterwards and give him the room now. For Teddy moving out that should be all the more reason for her getting a smaller room or sharing with Charlie.
*** Again, you seem to be missing the point - P.J. & Gabe share a room whilst Teddy & Charlie get their own rooms BECAUSE ONE DAUGHTER IS AN INFANT AND THE OTHER IS A TEENAGER. Plus P.J. & Gabe wouldn't necessarily wake up if Charlie starts crying, which is why Bob & Amy have a baby monitor - So that if Charlie wakes up in the night, she'll wake them up via the radio. However, Teddy ''would'' be woken up if they shared a room.
*** Yes, the one daughter is an infant and therefore wouldn't need a room to herself. And she's over two now, she's not an infant, the crying excuse is gone. Plus the one baby monitor seems to always be downstairs, so it seems like something in case they can't hear her while they're downstairs not while they're upstairs. Oh, and that "Unspoken rule" mentioned at the top, it's not always followed.

* Clearly the creators intend for this show to be more realistic/believable than magical wizards and babysitting vampires, but the Duncan family are ridiculously bizarre. They all fell out of a tree and walked away without a scratch. The oldest son brings his infant sister along on his fast food delivery job. I saw an episode where they tried to make a fake family to impress the youngest son's latest crush (although this was much funnier when the Russo family did it). Why is this "normal" family so unnatural?

* Why is it that, in the credits of one episode, the police come in the house looking for Gabe, and Amy rats him out "because he didn't do the dishes"?
** RuleOfFunny.
** Whatever happens in the credits is RuleOfFunny - Why else would a zombie be wandering around the Duncan house?
*** The Good Luck Charlie universe is a CrapsaccharineWorld, where Zombies are walk the earth?
**** Only in the credits sequence at the very end. As another troper explained, RuleOfFunny.
* So what are the writers planning to do once Charlie gets older?
** Give her another show.
** Give her lines.
** Go the [[FullHouse Michelle Tanner]] route.
** It'll be a long time before that. They could easily do this show until she's in third or fourth grade. What would really be interesting would be a SequelSeries with Charlie [[GenerationXerox going through similar things as Teddy did,]] only [[GenreSavvy armed with the knowledge of the video diaries.]] [[WrongGenreSavvy Which could be wrong.]] [[GenreBlind Or just ignored.]]
* So let me get this straight, in the episode where they go on vacation Teddy meets two guys, and there's a chance that either one of them could be the love of her life. Before the first guy can even tell her his name she turns him down because...he laughs weird? Ok, pretty shallow there. Then the other guy at least manages to sit down and say a few liens before we get to his big flaw which is...he loves his mother (it's not even weird, it sounds more like he's humoring her)? Ok, exactly how shallow are these people and why the heck does Disney want us to like them?
** Just because Disney displays a teenage girl as shallow doesn't mean they want us all to be shallow. She's a teenage girl, she's going to be shallow, that's perfectly natural.
*** I never said Disney wants us to be shallow. I said Disney wants us to cheer them on...for some reason.
*** "Ok, exactly how shallow are these people and why the heck does Disney want us to like them?"
*** The writers probably just assume that we'll agree with Teddy and Ivy because the boys are very minor characters that we never had time to like them or anything.
*** This troper doesn't like LARP in the Park for this same exact reason. Ok, so Teddy gets all fed up with that LARP crap and she basically calls her ex and his friends out about how nerdy it is and she basically breaks up with the boy [[DisproportionateRetribution just because he plays LARP]]. [[WhatTheHellHero Seriously, why?]]
*** This troper was under the impression that Teddy broke up with the boy because he wanted to spend his time [=LARPing=] and she wasn't into it, so she broke up with him over the fact that they had nothing in common. She insults them because she was frustrated and teenage girls naturally insult people.
*** Actually, she could've completely ignored the LARP (which I (a girl) thought was pretty cool by the way). They'd managed to have a relationship before she found out about it so it apparently didn't take up much of his time, she could've just said she didn't like it and she could still date him and basically ignore it. In fact she didn't even need to tell him she didn't like it, since he was keeping it a secret from her anyway. Personally I'm kind of happy the dude got saved from a relationship with her, since it's made pretty obvious she only wanted to date him because he looked good.
*** That's a good point. Maybe it's Disney's point altogether, that Teddy is just too immature to date anyone.
*** That would be awesome, Disney actually having the star of one of their shows (don't tell me the baby's the star, cause it's pretty obvious she isn't) that's a girl actually not always be right (or, what they think is right).
* Does anyone else feel like this show was made just because someone had a baby? like someone had a new baby and went to all that getting excited over every little thing the baby does, and said "s/he fell down backwards and laughed we should make a show about this!!!" p.s. this is not complaining about the show, or complaining about anything really, just that I have this feeling that that how it went.
** Considering how either the laugh track or the aw track plays every time the kid blinks, yeah, I think that's how it went down.

* I've noticed there's less interaction or plots that involve Teddy and Gabe together. Come on, Disney! The reason I'm watching this is not just for the baby, but for that too.
* In the crossover episode, doesn't anyone notice that Teddy and her mom are not the Duncan sisters? Anyone who has ever seen the REAL Duncan sisters could not possibly mistake the two.
** I didn't see the whole thing, but didn't the kid from Shake It Up realize it wasn't them because they didn't look like them? Perhaps no other characters knew what they looked like and Shake It Up Chicago got lots of very angry letters after that episode.

* Has anyone noticed that Amy has gotten steadily crazier, greedier and fame hungry as the show goes on. She hired a fake family for a talent competition, for Pete's Sake!

* Is it just me, or is this show actually good compared to the cliches of Hannah Montana or the confusing moral ambiguity of Wizards of Waverly Place?
** Yes. Thank God yes.
** If they'd ditch the laugh track it might be up there with my favorites.
*** It's up with my favorite anyway!
** Nah, I think it's just as bad as the other ones.
