* While trying to track down A-Kira, Near requests the security camera footage from Sakura TV from the time Ryuk was there, reasoning that the most efficient way to identify A-Kira is to follow Ryuk back to him. His baleful glare of thwarted irritation at a model of Ryuk when Rester and Matsuda tell him that they can't trace Ryuk's movement because he ''traveled underground'' is hilarious, but the kicker is what he does next: He presses a key on his laptop and ''blows it up'' with an even more annoyed look on his face. Near spends most of the chapter in various stages of tired and annoyed resignation, because he's not entirely sure it's a crime to ''sell'' the notebook, and A-Kira's plan is so well-thought-out and cautious that every plan Near comes up with is accounted for. By the end, he's just enjoying the show, and more disappointed that he won't be able to meet a fellow player on his own intellectual level.

* Soichiro [[ItMakesSenseInContext ramming a truck into the Sakura TV door]] L’s reaction really sells it:

Whenever [[spoiler:Demegawa]] tries pointing at someone to lead their movement, they just suffer a heart attack, leaving [[spoiler:Demegawa]] to increasingly panic and beg for mercy. And especially with [[spoiler:Demegawa's]] exaggerated facial expressions as he falls dead on the floor.
