*** If we take the other games and anime (excluding P4D as that hasn't happened yet) into account, Shadow Yu might just be Yu's desire for affection going on overdrive. Yu has stated he views himself as a weak person before, and Shadow Yu's victory quote against him seems to prove this. By this logic, there's likely a side of Yu that is willing to do anything to get this appreciation he craves, but doesn't actually care about bonding with others. This is even worse when you throw in the fact that in base Jungian, the more we repress a shadow, the more destructive, insidious, and dangerous it becomes (And that seems to hold true in Persona as well).

I was thinking about this.

* The Shadow Dopplegangers tend to be pretty decent recreations of each characters' Shadows. That said, as the Character Page points out, Shadow Yu and Shadow Aigis are psychopaths (with Shadow Yu also being massively power hungry)...
** However in this case it may be not so much about what he is, but rather what he fears he will become, Yosuke's Shadow briefly turned murderous at first saying that the whole town should dissapear, and while Yosuke was certainly bored at the time, he wouldn't have gone that far, so in this case it's more of what Yu fears of what will happen, alternitavely the fact that it's because it's a fake and [[UnreliableNarrator Kagutsuchi and Sho don't have anything to go on so they are simply trying to impose their own view of how Yu would act]].

* The game's story mode is really easy for a fighting game. The final boss in particular is no SNKBoss, and is a pretty serious AntiClimaxBoss. However, it makes sense this would be the case in story mode since this is a continuation of a turn-based RPG's story… it would be pretty cruel to Persona 4 fans that they can't continue their story without adapting to a whole new genre.

** They've also known each other for a number of years; whereas with the sole exceptions of Yukiko and Chie, the Investigation Team haven't been friends for that long — Yosuke's only known Chie and Yukiko for around a year and a half; Yu and Teddie have only known the three of them for just over a year; and the rest of the group joined up over the course of the following year.
* The male Yasogami uniforms have a roman numeral on the collar signifying what year the wearer is in — in ''Persona 4'', Yu and Yosuke had a "II" while Kanji and Naoto had a "I". In ''Arena'', Yosuke has a "III" and Kanji has a "II", but Yu still has a "II"… because he's no longer a Yasogami student and is using his old second-year uniform.

How is this relevant? Ameno-Sagiri served as the FinalBoss of the story, but take note: this was only if the player did not do battle with the TrueFinalBoss Izanami. This obviously pointed to the fact that the story isn't over yet.

** Unlike other places in the series that go by fictitious names, Yakushima is a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yakushima real-life island]] in the Osumi archipelago, about 60 km to the south from the southern tip of Japan's four main islands. ** Labrys actually has a HiveMind of sorts that can produce {{Split Personalit|y}}ies under the wrong circumstances, each of them potentially capable of manifesting their own Persona. The reason for this lies in how Labrys was created: [[spoiler:The Kirijo Group scientists "refined" their {{Robot Girl}}s' [=AIs=] by making them fight against each other and dumping the losers' data onto the winners. The idea was to use the defeated units' experiences to further improve the combat ability of the surviving ones, all while hoping that the inherited fear of death would push newer iterations of {{Robot Girl}}s closer and closer to awakening to a Persona. [[GoneHorriblyRight This went horribly well]], resulting fully sentient and ''traumatized'' android that carries the remains of her predecessors' psyches. * Hi-no Kagutsuchi, at one careful glance, can be considered an even more terrifying presence than Nyarlathotep, even if he isn't. At least Nyarlathotep needs a bunch of people to spread lies for him so they become truth if they got spread far and wide enough. This guy? He's ''really'' emotionally manipulative, just by words and his power to telepathically communicate with his prey, combined with his power to temporarily shapeshift and hide his intent...and here you have a monstrosity fit for complete world destruction.

They can't use sub-Personas because a chance to visit the Velvet Room and fuse Personas wasn't really accessible, and they can change Personas for the instant kill because evolving the Persona was still possible (if not on-command).

* A lot of things about Aigis make sense in light of what we learn about Labrys: Aigis being able to talk to dogs seems like a strange ability at first, especially as she explicitly states that dogs have no language (and The Answer implies that she is merely understanding Koromaru's feelings, not his words). But then you learn that Labrys, whose memories are preserved inside Aigis, had a strong bond with a dog (one that bears something of a resemblance to Koromaru at that) and it makes sense why Aigis would have such a strong understanding of canine emotions. Also, Aigis being drawn to the pier at Yakushima makes sense when you learn that the last thing Labrys saw before being shut down was the ocean view from said pier.
