* WorldOfCardboardSpeech: Optimus and the Autobots were almost ready to leave Earth and let them sort out the mess with Attinger, the KSI Transformers and [[spoiler:Galvatron, the reborn Megatron]]. After their craft gets shot down, Optimus opts to [[SummonBiggerFish release the Dinobots]]. As he fights Grimlock to get them on their side, he gives a speech to them and the remaining Autobots about going to save their human friends and [[WhatYouAreInTheDark prove to humanity who they are]].

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: Optimus recruits the Dinobots by beating the crap out of Grimlock.

* BadassBoast: [[spoiler:Galvatron]] makes a pretty good one when Optimus accuses him of having no soul by not only acknowledging he's right but replying with "That is why I have no fear!"

* HumansNeedsAliens: When Optimus declares that retrieving the seed will be the very last mission he will have the Autobots carry out before leaving Earth to take refuge in space, Cade objects that humans can't survive without the Autobots. Optimus brushes this off and [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech chews out Cade]] for humanity backstabbing the Autobots after spending the last 3 movies fighting wars on Decepticons and risking their lives for humanity.

* SuddenlyVoiced: In-Universe: [[spoiler:Joyce and his assistants are disturbed when their allegedly remote-controlled Galvatron ''speaks''. It's later revealed that Megatron's mind has persisted in the new mech.]]

* VillainExitStageLeft: Galvatron buggers off during the final battle, when the Autobots kill Lockdown, and a Chinese airstrikes wipes out any KSI bots Galvatron was controlling that were missed but the auto and dinobots.
* VillainOverride: Once Galvatron breaks free in KSI's factory in China, he reprograms all of the KSI Drones, Stinger included, to do his bidding.
