* AlternateRealityGame / ViralMarketing / InUniverseMarketing: The ''Flynn Lives'' ARG, which ran from July 2009 to December 2010, told the story of a group of conspiracy theorists attempting to locate Kevin Flynn long after the rest of the world presumed him dead. Events in the game included the opening of a replica Flynn's Arcade in San Diego during the 2009 and 2010 Comic-Cons, an Encom press conference hosted by Bruce Boxleitner in character as Alan Bradley, and the release of a fully playable version of the video game ''Space Paranoids''. Members of this group got swag including a poster, postcards, pins, stickers and plenty more. And in the end [[spoiler:[[NiceJobBreakingItHero they possibly caused the transmission that allowed Clu to send the page.]]]]

** ''StarWars'': The fight on the retractable bridge, the dogfight (complete with Quorra announcing "It's gonna be rough" and flicking some overhead switches), Sam initially mistaking the Light Cycle baton for a lightsaber, and Kevin's resemblance to Obi-Wan. There's also masked, black-clad bad guy Rinzler [[spoiler:actually being former good guy Tron, who returns to the light side and tries to kill his evil master at the end]].

* EvilIsHammy: Castor. Turned UpToeleven, of course.

* CoolCar: Quorra's Light Runner is not only a match for a [[JamesBond Bond car]] in terms of armament, but it can even go outside the Grid, where most ground vehicles have no power.

* TheGuardsMustBeCrazy: Averted in the Real World portion of the film. The Encom security guard notices [[InsecurityCamera the moment something wacky happens to the security cameras]] and manages to chase Sam all the way out onto the crane on the roof. He's even able to figure out who Sam is based on a few hints he is given ([[BadassBystander while standing on a crane high over a city street, no less.]])

** Many of the glowy-weapons (or at least the glowy [[CarFu weaponized items]] in the films are named with Light as a prefix. Light Cycles, Light Jets, etc. One of the weapons seen in the movie could be easily described as [[StarWars Light Sabers]].

* ForgotAboutHisPowers: A minor example. During the Lightcycle battle, Sam gets knocked off his bike by Clu and just stands there with his disk armed while Clu turns for another pass. Though this sets up Quorra's BigDamnHeroes moment, Sam seems to have completely forgotten about the cycle rod he pocketed after its original owner was crushed by Clu (not one minute earlier). It's never brought up again.
