* BastardBoyfriend: In addition to being a {{Jerkass}} in general, it's implied Tommy is abusive towards Christie as when she's planning to leave him she says she wants someone who actually respects her, as such her [[spoiler: just blowing him off and dumping him right after the giant alien spits him out]] comes across more as a TheDogBitesBack moment than anything.
* BastardGirlfriend: Christie Boner has shades of this with Tommy. First it's implied she cheated on him the night before the film's events. Then, when Tommy gets [[spoiler: swallowed alive by the Alien Giantess]] she seems almost ''glad'' about it. Then when he [[spoiler: manages to survive the living hell that must have been that woman's stomach]], she doesn't even give him a hand up, and breaks up with him on the spot.

* SocietyMarchesOn: One of the characters is a "gender challenged male" stripper... which today would be considered horrifyingly insensitive to both transgendered persons and people struggling with gender dysphoria, to say the least.

* HereWeGoAgain: At the end, the twins discovers the guy's back tattoos and the WhosOnFirst routine begins all over again.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: Nelson, he spends most of the movie as a [[ButtMonkey Nerdy guy everybody picks on]]. At the end he gets [[spoiler: gets Christie Boner as a girlfriend]]

* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: Attack of the GiantWoman in this case. The Alien Jumsuit Chicks merge into her and she tries to kill Jesse and Chester.

* FamousLastWords: In the extended version of the scene Tommy asks the Super Hot Giant Alien if she "spit[s] or swallow[s]" right before she devours him. Though he also throws in [[KilledMidSentence Hey, what are you-]] as she eats him.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: When the Alien Jumsuit Chicks are first introduced the leader takes Jesse's Popsicle from him, shoves the whole thing in her mouth, and swallows it in one gulp. [[spoiler: Later, when she turns into the Super Hot Giant Alien she devours Tommy in the exact same manner.]]

** Apparently it's because Chester [[BerserkButton called the Dalai Lama a 'fag']]. If she wasn't rude before, then [[UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist because of these guys]] she is now.
** Though, "I'm not the one who called the Dalai Lama a fag"could also be in response to Nelson getting mad at them enough to kick them out of his car and go home.
