''Breakfast with Scot'' is a 2007 Canadian film, based on a 1999 book. The film centres on Eric [=McNally=], a closeted (at work) former ice hockey player, now sports commentator. He is in a happy and discreet relationship with Sam, a lawyer. When Sam's brother's ex-girlfriend dies, her eponymous son, Scot, is under the guardianship of Sam's brother, Billy. Unfortunately, Billy is difficult to track down, and so, for the time being, Scot must live with Eric and Sam.

Scot is flamboyantly, unapologetically camp, into makeup, musicals, pancakes and fashion. Eric is decidedly straight acting, and tries to protect Scot and himself by forcing the boy to take up more masculine hobbies.
