* ''Synopsis'': At the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2, Roxas ended his summer vacation and existence as a separate entity from Sora so the Keyblade master could awake. But what if something changed? What if the Nobody became the ''Somebody ''? AU of Kingdom Hearts 2 where Roxas is the main character, leading Axel and Namine across the worlds.

* ''Comments'': Quite possibly my favorite Kingdom Hearts story of all time. Provides laughs, tears, and action aplenty, while remaining absolutely loyal to the characters' in game portrayals. There is no Slash, no Author characters or any such things added here, just straight Kingdom Hearts in a "what-if" scenario. Take note that the authors only used what had been released at the time as a basis, so there is no mention of Birth by Sleep or 358/2 Days. Also note that the actual site is in a bit of a state of disrepair and is almost certainly a Deadfic as it has not been updated since early 2009. Thankfully the story can still be accessed through the Travel Logs link.

** Fill the Moon is an alternate timeline set before/during Kingdom Hearts II. The main difference is in the fact that all the Organization is alive, and shown as being much more sympathetic that in the games. Sora is a confused kid who's trying to do the right thing. Ansem admits he was wrong. It's about family, the relationships that form between people who live and fight and work together. It's absolutely gorgeous, surreal and nightmarish like an acid dream.

* Comments: WARNING: SLASH AND NIGHTMARE FUEL UNLEADED. As the Authoress states in the first chapter "A few warnings are needed, because I write some twisted, twisted shit. First, holy crap the gay will slam you in the face with a Carebear Stare. I didn't want to turn people off who go "barf it's a romance fic" because hell I know I do that too sometimes, but this isn't a romance story. So this is why I'm giving a warning." This is a beautiful wordy fic, with chapters choc full of pop culture references, standing at 186,679 words as of the 54th chapter.

** Originally I was reluctant to read this story because of the fact that it's over 320,000 words long but once I started, I couldn't stop. Each chapter the P.O.V changes and focuses on a different couple. I can be a bit confusing at times but after you've read about 5 chapters you get used to it and focus on the storyline. The story is one which touches the heart with real life issues such as Riku having an overbearing and strict father who he's scared to tell that he's gay. From the very start this story felt as if it connected me to the characters and I could feel their pain and suffering. VERY highly recommended.

* ''Comments:'' This was started and completed before Kingdom Hearts II was released, so it is most certainly an AU. However, the story that Rem-chan weaves is good enough that I wish that ''this'' had been the game. Having been split up from Donald and Goofy, Sora travels through various worlds (this time from anime; you have worlds from TenchiMuyo, SailorMoon, GundamWing, Inuyasha, and so on) alongside [[RanmaOneHalf Ranma Saotome]] and [[YuGiOh Yami]], fighting the [[EldritchAbomination Soulless]], and seeking the truth about the Keyblades as he tries to get home. Great writing, fantastic action, and the style just FEELS like Kingdom Hearts (complete with the final world being an EldritchLocation that [[KingdomHeartsII The World That Never Was]] could only DREAM of being). I'm shocked that this one wasn't here by now.

* ''Comments'': An AU by virtue of the fact that it was written before ''Chain of Memories'' or ''KHII'' came out, ''All The Roads We Have To Walk'' is a highly entertaining divergence fic set in a world that is much darker than the realm of light without being an actual {{Dark Fic}}; the best way this troper could describe it is "gothic". Also notable for the inclusion of a host of new ''Final Fantasy'' characters (and ''worlds'') from games dating back as far as ''FFV'' and multiple {{Crowning Moments of Awesome}} for Kairi, who [[spoiler: gets to smash Heartless heads with a miniature warhammer after some training with Yuffie.]]
** This is easily one of my favorite fics ever. If I could recommend it twice, I would! Oh, wait, I can: [[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2999494/1/A_Darker_Road A Darker Road]] is the sequel, covering the events of KH2, and dealing with some loose plot threads from Chain of Memories. Sadly, Ginger Ninja has seemingly moved on to other fandoms, but...

* Pairings: Cloud/Leon, Axel/Roxas, Zemyx, and many more
* Synopsis: Six years pass after Leon and Cloud, the two main protagonists, go through a heart-wrenching break-up. Six years later, their lives have changed with Cloud raising his two adopted sons and Leon owning his own bookstore.
* Comments: This fic can make you laugh at some points and make you cry at others. It's one of the best stories I have read on FF.net, and I would highly recommend it to anybody who doesn't mind yaoi.

* Synopsis: Sora and friends face a new enemy, the Crystalli, who come from a horrible future, and are aided by several of the Author's original characters, the most prominent being Sakuzy, [[spoiler: Sora's great-grandson]], and Joyex, a nobody with half a heart, both from the future.
* Genre: Adventure, Comedy
* Pros: An excellent storyline, few non-Disney worlds, romance takes a back seat, original characters have strong roles but aren't Sues/Stus, humorous, established characters are in-character, well-done main villains.
* Cons: The time-travel aspect is shaky, leaving some plot holes, by the author's own admission it takes quite a bit of inspiration from the first Transformers movie (some small plot points are familiar, as well as the minion Crystalli transform similarly to the Decepticons). Similarly, some of the characters are said to be 'based off of' characters from other series (the initial leader of the Crystall, Chrysallis, is based off of Freaky Fred from Courage the Cowardly Dog, a crazed ninja called Crescent is based off of Deadpool from Marvel Comics)
* Comments: Very entertaining, a good way to spend an afternoon is reading this fan-fiction. It was completed in May of 2009 and a sequel, Prince of Heart 2, began in July of the same year, however, the sequel isn't quite as good as the original in this Troper's Opinion, moving very slowly along. Despite the downsides, it's an excellent story which will keep one glued to their seat all the way through, laughing the entire time.

*''Coments'': This was written intended to be a TrollFic, due author's CompletelyMissingThePoint about Harvey's show, but it ended being a very funny and interesting crossover, more than the author expected (especially because he accidentaly kept Harvey in character, in this troper's opinion); Harvey tries to arrest Xemnas but it's humiliated in every try (this was supposed to be the ''trollic'' part of the fic). Expect also NoFourthWall. As for pairings, we have one-sided Roxas/Namineé, one-sided Harvey/Larxene and [[spoiler: [[HotSkittyOnWailordAction Bowser/Namineé]]]] SoYeah.

Kairi can control them!), who are given a second chance by gaining what are known as ‘heart pieces’. With these heart pieces they can regain their lost hearts by relearning a given emotion, such as trust and bravery. However, Axel is separated from the group, with a strange being, and through many tests to save the lost friend the group learns to be human again.
*Kingdom Hearts: One More Vacation: Sequel to KH: Axelerate! Leon has declared the last break before the Org and RGRC go after the Door to Light. Trouble's brewing.. someone is out for the Org XIII.. and Vexen's MARRIED! But who is the stranger that keeps appearing? Could she be...?
*Kingdom Hearts: The Fallen Kingdom: Third Part of Axelerate So, the Door to Light's been opened. What's a Keyblade Master to do? Somehow make sense of all the political world intrigue of course. Sora and friends will make it somehow. That's if, they don't all kill each other first.

* ''Comments'': I cannot believe this hasn’t been added. This fic is absolutely amazing, one of the best, if the top, Kingdom Hearts fanfic Trilogy I have ever read. It packed with amazing witty and slapstick humor, adventure, redemption, Crowning moments of both Warmth and Awsome, and even grand Tear Jerker moments. Though there are a few typos it never takes anything away from the story. The take on the Organization is deep and delves into certain characters like Xemnas, Demyx(Who later becomes one of the major playing characters), Vexen(Surprise twist whit his background in the 2nd fic), Zexion, and of course, Axel. They play alongside the mains of the games (Sora, Riku, Kairi and so on), many Disney and Finaly Fantasy(Which do play decently big roles, for those who enjoy the series) characters. This IS a multi-crossover fic, bringing in some anime worlds such as Bleach, Trigun, Inuyasha, Hellsing, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto and more. It even pulls in Harry Potter, later on! However, the characters are all played amazing in-character(If only for VERY few OOC times) and interact in believable ways while never completely stealing the spotlight away from the main story. There ARE OC’s but they are done incredibly well, avoiding all the pit-falls of Mary Sue/Gary Stu. They are also played as more side characters or major characters in shadows. As an OC hater, I can say it I absolutely adore how Sulha did with them. If you want with an adventure, friendship, love, light, darkness, redemption, tragedy, and humor, this is the fic for you! I HIGHLY recommend this to all Org. XIII fans, Disney fans, Sora fans, and well… ALL THE FANS.
**This fic DOES have romance but I wouldn’t say it’s played as main, as everything is more about the journey and friendship along the way, hence why it’s not in the Pairing section. If you all believe it has more romance, then I’ll move it into the pairing section. There is also ONE slash couple in the fic. Just ONE. And it’s done intertwined with the fanfic, creating certain plot developments. However, everyone else is very in the Het area. Also, these were started and finished BEFORE Days and BBS, so it could be considered somewhat AU.

* ''Comments'':This. . . is one of This Troper's personal favorites. It's extremely dark, depressing, surreal, and. . . while not overly descriptive, if you have an overactive imagination it ends up being gory, otherwise it's just 'covered in blood' as the description says. The real point of this is an angsty (by which I mean, to quote the author's FF.net page "a good example of angst is not the Final Fantasy boys of Square Enix. A good example of angst is ''Wasteland'' by Franesca Lia Block.") view of life after the end of KHII, and going off of the idea that 1.) Kairi stays behind at the Destiny Islands, and 2.) the battles don't ''ever'' end. In the end, it's in some ways an exploration of the behavior and fractured psyches that Riku and Sora would inherit, given lives like these, and Kairi dealing with the fallout, and her own trauma from merely an observer's station, as she tries to keep them all together and sane. This description fails to do it justice, but it's the best I can come up with. All I can really say is, if you want it dark, if you want it screwy, if you want it mature (though not explicit, get your minds out of the gutter (mostly, it's not even ''lime'', just hinted at)), than check this out. It's that, and incredibly good writing, while keeping everyone ''disturbingly'' in character, almost to the point that you wish they ''weren't''. Have fun.

* ''Comments'': Written way before the release of 358/2 Days (so it's very definitely non-canon), ''Deceitful Above All Things'' explores the time between Roxas's entry into the Organization and Axel's final scene in Kingdom Hearts II. It's an excellent portrayal of both characters, and because it's told from a third-person limited view focusing on Axel, the narration is hilarious and snarky and full of beautiful, beautiful win. If you're not a fan of Axel/Roxas, this fic is still worth reading -- Axel's characterization is spot-on and there's a CrowningMomentofFunny every few paragraphs or so. Be warned that there's some lavendar-hued prose that pops up once in a while, tons of Shout Outs to Disney movies, and slash.

Much shorter than ''Court of Souls'', but a fascinating tale of how Riku grows and changes as the Keyblade Master of Hearts. Also, we find out just what the Heartless have been up to. Note that if you're going to read ''Court of Seals'', make sure you've read ''Of Many Hearts'' before Chapter 62, because that's where the two stories intertwine.

This is an awesome, awesome fic. I just can't express my love for it enough - the twn percent worth dying for for sure. The writing is great, it's funny and serious all at once, and the love story is quirky off the wall. Give it a shot.
