* RedHeadedHero: Asuka, pilot of giant robots. In chapter 3 she was sick and pregnant and she still leapt from her hospital bed and went to fight an EldritchAbomination, helping to save the day. In chapter 7 she led their squad comrades and came up with a strategy to win the battle. And after giving birth she kept piloting war mechas and fighting giant alien monsters.

* TheStationsOfTheCanon: Despite of –''[[UnbuiltTrope or maybe because]]''- being one of the first major Eva fics, it plays with the timeline very loosely. The story starts out some while after Shinji and Asuka's SacredFirstKiss. However it introduces two new Angels after Ireul. The sequel ignores –possibly- Leliel, Bardiel and Zeruel entirely and skips straight to Arael. Touji never becomes the Fourth Children and Unit-03 never shows up.

* MandatoryMotherhood: When Shinji gets Asuka pregnant they decide to have the baby even though they’re socially inept teenagers because they don’t want that their child go through the same thing than them.

* SorkinRelationshipMoment: In chapter 5 Misato feds up with Shinji and Asuka’s arguing and being at odds with each other, so she angrily tells them that they’ll go to the Obon Festival, they’ll have fun together, they’ll make up and they’ll stop behaving like idiots… ''or else''.

Thus a nine-months-long odyssey begins for Shinji and Asuka during which they must come to terms with their feelings, their relationship and their future parenthood… unaware what Gendo has designs of his own towards their baby. What is exactly planning Gendo? Did Asuka really have sex with Shinji because she was bored or the truth is more sinister than she and Shinji believe?

* TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt: For most of the history the Children fought the Angels thinking they were stopping a bunch of {{Eldritch Abomination}}s from exterminating the humankind. After [[spoiler:Gendo got arrested]] his right hand Fuyutsuki came clean with Misato and Kaji, revealing that secret organization SEELE was using NERV to cause the end of the world. From that point the cast fights to stop both the Angels and SEELE and save the world.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Gendo had done ''plenty'' questionable or horrible things, but in this story he [[spoiler:mixes Asuka's LCL with hormone-boosters so that she has sex and gets pregnant -despite of being only thirteen-. Then he modifies her foetus genetically in order to create a new SuperSoldier lifeform he plans to use like a weapon as soon as Asuka gives birth... additionally, Asuka may die when she delivers her baby, who is accidentally his granddaughter, but Gendo does not care.]] ''Everyone'' is so disgusted and sickened with him -including his lover, his right hand and his puppet who had had helped him loyalty until then- that they turn against him. Even Rei -who had been absolutely and unconditionally faithful to him- said she rather obey Misato because she was "more human".

* ActionGirl: Asuka, Rei, Misato… they are soldiers and but the latter they pilot giant robots to fight alien monsters.

* AllMenArePerverts: Invoked. In this story Asuka gets pregnant with Shinji's baby after an one-night stand. When they are blaming each other Shinji argues she provoked him and Asuka replies he couldn't not want it since he is a guy and all guys are perverts.

* AbusiveParents: Shinji’s mother chose get absorbed into Unit 01 and for whatever reason wanted her son watching as she dissolved. Right after his father abandoned him. Meanwhile Asuka’s mother got crazy, stopped recognizing her daughter and eventually killed herself together with a doll she thought was Asuka. As she was institutionalised, Asuka’s father cheated on his wife with her nurse where Asuka could hear them, and after his wife’s death he got married with his lover and stopped looking after Asuka. Shinji and Asuka are screwed up due to this. And that was before [[spoiler:Gendo used his son’s crush like a disposable pawn with no regard for his son’s feelings.]]

* AdaptationalCurves: Due to her pregnancy, Asuka becomes bustier that she was in the proper series. In the sequel, Rei notes her breasts are now bigger and her bra size has increased by at least three sizes, much to Asuka's embarrassment and anger.
* AdultFear: Several times Shinji tells he is very scared that something bad will happen to his daughter Teri or she will grow up unhappy or lonely because he has not done his father job well. Asuka also fears Teri gets traumatized because her.
** Shinji being frightened of being unable to protect Asuka and their daughter was the reason of him [[spoiler:seeing himself like unworthy to be a father and running from his family for a month.]]
** During [[spoiler:her MindRape Arael exploited Asuka's fear to lose her child.]]

* AmazonChaser: Shinji loves and is drawn to Asuka’s bravery and fierceness when she battles.
* AngerBornOfWorry: In chapter 7 Shinji gets struck during a battle and Asuka loses her temper utterly.

** In chapter 5 Gendo is rambling about his plans furthering the human evolution:

** In chapter 8 Asuka is furious with Shinji [[spoiler:because he has lost his nerve and he has broken up because he thinks he is unfit to be her boyfriend and their child’s father]] and she tells she does not love him anymore. Misato does not buy it, though:

** Asuka gives a well-deserved one to Shinji when he [[spoiler:begins having doubts about himself and breaks up with Asuka because he thinks he is not fit to her boyfriend and Teri’s father since he thinks he can not protect them:]]

* AttentionWhore: Asuka yearns for and loves attention due to be abandoned when she was a child. She tries to be the best at everything and as loud and bold as possible because she thinks nobody will ever care about her otherwise.

** When Asuka collapsed in front of Misato’s apartment Shinji remained the whole time by her side, keeping watch over her and gazing at her beautiful sleeping face.
** Asuka said Shinji’s birthday gift was the only gift meant something to her that day, and she cried when she saw it.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: Shinji and Asuka had to work hard to get their happy ending. First of all they had to learn to stop fighting and reach each other out. Then they had to go through Asuka’s pregnancy. Then they had to [[spoiler:stop Gendo’s plans which might mean Asuka’s death and Teri being turned into a living tool war.]] THEN they had to beat the remnant Angels AND SEELE and at the same time raising their baby.

* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Sigh. Gendo… You [[spoiler:used drugs to drive a thirteen-years-old girl to have sex with someone, planning using her ''freaking baby'', who coincidentally is your ''granddaughter'', as a war weapon.]] Were you seriously shocked when [[spoiler: ''everyone'']] turned against you?

* LighterAndSofter: Althought this story got pretty dark sometimes, it is definitely and unapologetically waffier than the original series. Shinji and Asuka have a daughter, which pushes to try to figure their relationship out, [[spoiler:Gendo gets jailed, and Third Impact never happens.]]

** In chapter 2 Hikari asks Shinji giving a stack of printouts to Asuka… right like she asked Touji giving a heap of printouts to Rei in canon.
