** Magical Deja Vu and The Aftermath are more in universe examples, but still count. An ordinary coronation has several oddities happen for the ''Tangled'' crew, with Rapunzel reacting to something cold when Elsa walked by her, to Elsa's odd habit of rubbing her gloved hands, to Elsa's sudden snappy demeanor when they request creating trade relations between their kingdoms. However, everything changed for them when Elsa revealed her ice powers. Suddenly, they're made aware of a backstory they could never have guessed about, and what began as an ordinary honeymoon is now as much about the sisters as it is about them.
** Gothel's Gift: The Duke of Wesselton tries to kill Rapunzel, ending on a cliffhanger as she's left out to freeze.
** Bonds Tested: Eugene and Rapunzel's secrets are revealed, testing the fledgling bonds they'd formed with the sisters (particularly elsa), and essentially throwing the plot sideways from all the drama it creates.
** Broken: Kristoff gave Eugene a bad sled when he still hated him, resulting in a broken arm.
** Unwound: Where do we begin? There are no secrets between Kristoff and the others, but it costs him his respect, his relationship with Anna, and eventually he leaves the town in penance for what he did. Elsa meanwhile is showing cracks in her control, putting her kingdom at odds with her yet again after trying to make up with them all. Furthermore, this chapter lead to a temporary breaking of relations between the humans of the 2 casts, angry at the events that unfolded.
** Promising Princesses part 2: After an ordinary day trying to make up with each other, Sven bursts in and reports that Kristoff is missing.
** The clock strikes eleven: We get an expanded origin about Rapunzel's magic flower she got her powers from, hints that it's still at work inside her, and even an idea that Anna really did die on the fjord, and that one thing Rapunzel and Elsa share with their magic is the ability of true love to restore life. Also, Rapunzel and Anna bury the hatchet hopefully for good, promising to talk with Elsa later on possibly becoming sworn sisters together.

It's rather surprising to see the girl who use to push everyone away actually get down on her hands and knees to ask for help.

* AnIcePerson: Well, who do you think is this?

* FramingDevice: Both Rapunzel and Eugene tell their story to the ''Frozen'' cast as a way to expand on what they called "the short version" they mentioned earlier in the fic.

* HeroicBSOD: Eugene suffers one when he finds out Rapunzel is missing. Elsa also gets one when her "family" starts arguing among itself.

* EasilyForgiven: Played with. Anna doesn't hold her years of isolation against Elsa at all, and Rapunzel and Eugene are just happy she brought back summer. However, other misdeeds might or might not be forgiven easily or not, and besides the first case, nobody is easily forgiven after that.
** Elsa does though forgive Rapunzel for yelling at her, because she knows that she kinda deserved it.

* EarnYourHappyEnding: The probably end goal of the fic. Nobody over the month had everything go right for them, but they're all searching for their happy ending, and given that the author wanted this to be as close a continuation as possible, they'll probably find it after this.

* DisneyDeath: Anna of course.

* CursedWithAwesome /BlessedWithSuck: Oh Elsa. Her powers definitely weren't very positively portrayed during the first part of the fic thanks to the eternal winter business, and even she admits at one point that extreme stress might cause a reaction in her. On the other hand, after the events of ''WesternAnimation/{{Frozen|2013}}'', she's finally able to use her powers more constructively and creatively, so she's trying to balance out that fear with the beauty that Grand Pappie talked about.

* CheerfulChild: The big two are Charlotte and Jacob Caumont, though Charlotte gets more focus, thanks to her enthusiastic love of princess Rapunzel, and greater focus overall on how she sees the newer changes around Arendelle.
* ChillyReception: While Elsa's not exactly "new" to her kingdom per se, her long isolation made it so that she essentially had to be treated in this manner as most of the citizens ended up really meeting her for the first time during this fic.

* BigBadDuumvirate: Hans and the Duke during the first 8 chapters, just like in canon.

* BlatantLies: Oddly enough, it's Rapunzel who engages in this right after the blizzard, uncertain of how to deal with [[spoiler: her magic coming back]].

* BerserkButton: For the love of all, do NOT injure Anna's friends.

** Since the first 8 chapters write around the plot of Frozen from the Tangled cast's POV, Kai and Gerda 9(The household servants) get a bit more of a role since they're the ones helping out around the castle during the big freeze/blizzard brought on by Elsa.

* BeneathTheMask: Elsa has this the most. And this is even referenced in chapter 17 when Eugene mentioned she was "letting it all out" to him and Rapunzel during one of their private conversations. Elsa's royal training and her whole "conceal, don't feel" business sometimes has her putting on masks of indifference or composure in order to keep her true feelings at bay. Trying to project an appearance of control and dignity even in the worst of times. However, by the time Frozen's movie plot is over, her more private persona is given more exploration whenever she's around Anna or the Fitzherberts. It's fairly apparent that she's actually a rather insecure, sad ruler with something close to a GuiltComplex (though not quite, because she knows the limits to how much she can blame herself for bad things happening). On the flip side though, beneath her mask is a lot of passion for her family, a big empathetic heart and a desire to move on from the worst of times.

* CallForward: With Anna mentioning her birthday being "next month", the timeframe for Frozen Fever are also in place, just not used yet.

* ContinuationFic: Aside from a few cosmetic changes (such as Anna and Elsa hugging twice before Elsa unfreezes everything instead of just once, and some potential liberties with the timescale), this crossover takes both movies as they are, and writes a continuation for both of them out of the material. Tangled, having ended first, is continued from the start, but when the Big Freeze ends, it turns into a Frozen continuation as well.
* ContinuityNod: One subtle aspect not always noted by Frozen fans is the final state of Anna's hair. But when Rapunzel is brushing Anna's hair one morning, she notes that she used to have a white streak in her hair, but after the freeze, now it's gone.
* {{Crossover}}: The whole reason for this fic is because the author wanted to tell a story about why there was that Tangled cameo in Frozen, and then elaborating on how their visit went from there.

* DamselInDistress: Ironically both Rapunzel and Anna get this on the 2nd to last day of the Frozen story. Anna with her trademark internal freezing, Rapunzel due to [[spoiler: The Duke drugging her and leaving her to freeze to death]].

* DeconReconSwitch: Elements such as EasilyForgiven, the common misconception that Rapunzel is related to Elsa and Anna, or the ending of Frozen are all looked at in a much more harsh or bare light, and then eventually pulled back together by still affirming there's something important about them.

* DramaBomb: Chapter 10. Everything seems to have wrapped up nicely. The tangled crew got nicely introduced to the frozen people, the movie ended, and it seemed like it would just be an easy SliceOfLife kind of story on the tangled crew's honeymoon. And then Kristoff reveals that Eugene was a thief, and everything fell to pieces. Another drama bomb also dropped chapter 14 though as a consequence of the first one.

* EnsembleCast: While the story started out from Rapunzel and Eugene's POV, after the movies finished up, the viewpoints switch between both the tangled and frozen cast, with no clear lead between them.

* FramingDevice: Both Rapunzel and Eugene tell their story to the frozen cast as a way to expand on what they called "the short version" they mentioned earlier in the fic.

* LighterAndSofter: Compared with many fics out there dealing with the aftermaths of Frozen and Tangled, this fic takes it all with a much lighter hand. Not lighthearted, but certainly lighter without any crazy bending over backwards about any personality quirks that might've developed in the time since.

* SpannerInTheWorks: Though the Tangled crew is unable to stop some of the major beats of Frozen (Elsa revealing herself, the fight with Marshmallow and so forth), they do have smaller impacts you might not expect. For example, Rapunzel took care of Arendelle while Hans was out riding to "rescue" Anna. More importantly, Maximus and Pascal were able to discover Hans's evil plot, and thus were able to point Olaf in the right direction so he could save Anna.

* TimeSkip: Takes place a week after Tangled Ever After, and 2 weeks since Rapunzel's return home.

Elsa's reasoning for this is that she can handle her own problems, and she doesn't want Anna to give up her chances for happiness by losing her chance to find [[spoiler: Kristoff]]. Not as straight due to it really being a choice between 2 people, but still there.

* AprilFoolsDay: As a way to tease the fans, Doctor Darth posted a gag chapter addressing various fanon in a DarkComedy manner, everything from connecting the Little Mermaid to Tiana showing up at the coronation is addressed. There was even a civil war because Elsa's parents faked their death in Fiji because they couldn't deal with Elsa's powers. As Elsa's grandchild king Triton was born...it turned out to be AllJustADream Elsa had the day before....that the author had written to address his own lack of progress.

* ArmorPiercingQuestion: "What kind of a queen are you, punishing people from outside your kingdom?"

* TheAtoner: Technically, Elsa walked the line between good and evil, but a big focus of the fic after Canon is focused around this trope. Though it's not just her that needs to make up for the big freeze. Almost all the main characters feel a need to make up for negative actions or inaction they took during their stay.

* CerberusRollerCoaster: The fic itself has a relatively consistent tone, but that tone's gradation of seriousness fluctuates from chapter to chapter.

* BadDreams: Two have happened so far. One was Anna flashing back to when she "died" on the fjord. The other is Rapunzel having a nightmare of Eugene getting iced up and shattering to pieces.

* {{Adorkable}}: Rapunzel and Anna get most of this due to their similar natures and inexperience, but Elsa gets in on the action sometimes as well.
