* In ''Manga/SpyXFamily'', a group of assassins are targeting the wife and child of a mob boss on a cruise ship. When one of their more psychopathic members suggests simply killing ''every'' mother and child on the ship just to be sure they have the right one, the other assassins immediately kill him and throw his corpse overboard. These assassins WouldHurtAChild, but they're not going out of their way to kill ''every mother and baby on the ship'' ForTheEvulz.

** Initially, he states that if he were Kira (and the audience knows he ''is''), that Kira wouldn't kill people that had killed for [[IDidWhatIHadToDo survival]] or [[KillingInSelfDefense self-defense]] reasons, or people that had been convicted of (usually petty) crimes but had since served their sentences and made a commitment to being functional, law-abiding citizens. And he ''usually'' saved his [[AGodAmI (not-so)]] [[TheScourgeOfGod "divine retribution"]] for people that had been convicted of major crimes like rape or murder... though [[DisproportionateRetribution not always]]. (On the other hand, he's not above killing people who had been exonerated, or found to be not guilty in a court of law due to lack of evidence, or people that were facing charges but had yet to be convicted.) However, by the end, whatever standards he had went out the window.

** The Emperor is a man who allows his people to brutalize, slaughter and abuse anyone in captured areas, simply because they aren't Britannian. He's NOT a nice man and most of the world hates him for very good reasons. That said, he will not stand for lying. [[spoiler:He watched his family murder each other in power grabs with lies and absolutely despises anyone who plays a role. As a result, when he found out that his brother had lied to him about killing his wife and Lelouch's mother Marianne, he stole his code and let him die for the action when he had the chance in R2]]. This does make him a bit of a hypocrite, as Lelouch points out. [[spoiler:He put on his own mask as Emperor to hide his true goal of making a world without lies]].
** Cornelia is a LadyOfWar, and had her share of war crimes against enemy's population. But if your plan involves nuking your own population, she'll never side with you. Notice that Cornelia hasn't done anything evil since… at least the declaration at the school festival.
** Schniezel's right-hand man Kanon may be willing to support Schniezel's plans, but even Kanon was shocked when Schneizel reveals he has no intention of rescuing [[spoiler: his own half-sister Nunnally]], since he was using her as a bait to kill Lelouch.
** And Schneizel himself is shocked when [[spoiler: Euphie]] is killing innocent Japanese left and right. Although in this case, [[spoiler: she was inadvertently Geassed, not intentionally being evil.]]
** Schneizel also [[spoiler:abandons [[EunuchsAreEvil the High Eunuchs]] when they call nations dirt, leaders replaceable figureheads, and the people ants. He rescinds their deal to become Britannian nobles and leaves them to their fate at Xing-ke's hands.]]

** Despite Vegeta's attempts to hide it, he's visibly disturbed when Frieza is crushing Gohan's head with his foot. In the English dub at least, despite his hatred of Goku, he's absolutely disgusted at Android 19 for [[KickThemWhileTheyAreDown ruthlessly beating on Goku and sucking the life out of him while he is suffering from a deadly heart virus]], even going so far as to call him out on it while beating him up. [[SubvertedTrope In the manga and the Kai re-dub, however, he's pissed with Goku for going into battle with the heart virus.]] [[{{Hypocrite}} In both interations, though, he too kicks Goku while he's down,]] though at least he knocks him into Piccolo, who catches him.
** Vegeta also looks downright ''disturbed'' by Recoome, a big alien brute, crushing the neck of a badly injured Gohan with a single kick, leaving the tiny boy ''twitching'' and bleeding from the mouth on the ground.
** Cooler has a moment of this in [[Anime/DragonBallZCoolersRevenge fifth movie]]. Despite being a planet destoying GalacticConquerer himself who is perfectly okay with trying to kill the five year old Gohan with his EyeBeams, even he still reacts with clear distaste at the sight of his brother Frieza's gleeful EvilLaugh while commiting genocide on the Saiyan race in the opening of the film.

* ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'': Oddly enough, [[spoiler:Solf J. Kimblee]] comes off as this. He's perfectly willing to let [[spoiler:Pride]] kill Ed so long as he does it in a sufficiently dignified and awesome way. [[spoiler:Kimblee]] comes to Ed's aid simply because he can't stand the idea of someone supposedly innately superior trying to save themselves by clinging desperately to an inferior's body and verbally bitch-smacks [[spoiler:Pride]] before [[DyingMomentOfAwesome leaving the planet for good.]] Kimblee has a strict code by which he lives and judges others. This code has nothing to do with morality, but rather being true to one's convictions. To him, the lowest of the low are {{hypocrite}}s.

* ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'': Omnipresent. Even many {{Mooks}} draw the line at killing women or children, and Ramba Ral dies as a result of such morality. The most obvious use is in the case of Prince Gihren Zabi, an individual so vile that many of his mass-murdering allies find him disturbing. His father, himself a fascist dictator who likely murdered his predecessor in order to gain power, [[GodwinsLaw compares the man to Hitler unfavorably]] (which he [[InsultBackfire takes as a compliment]]). And his sister Princess Kycillia, who's spent her time establishing her uberbitch credentials, hates him so much that [[spoiler: she ends up killing the man for ordering patricide.]]

*** A more specific example, Yzak Joule spends a lot of the series [[TheSocialDarwinist disparaging the "inferior" Naturals]], and is shown to be more than willing to gun down retreating enemies. However, even he is horrified when ZAFT forces start massacring ''[[TakeNoPrisoners surrendering]]'' soldiers after the Battle of Panama. This forms the basis of his CharacterDevelopment [[spoiler: and ultimately HeelFaceTurn]].

* ''VisualNovel/SchoolDays'': Girls like [[AlphaBitch Otome]] and her GirlPosse throw themselves at the feet of [[JerkAss Makoto]] and backstab each other to have sex with him. Yet when they learn that [[spoiler: Makoto has abandoned Sekai after she claimed that he actually ''impregnated'' her (and with a reasonably good back-up, also)]], they all abandon him for that. [[spoiler: Otome ''openly'' tells him how full of shit he is, [[TookALevelInJerkAss and how he wasn't like that in his past]].]]
** Even Makoto has one as he despises [[BullyHunter bullies]] in one of the game's endings where he stood up to the GirlPosse [[spoiler: the same ones who backstabbed her friend by videotaping her having sex with Makoto, ''then'' having sex with him, and showing the tape to the whole school.]]

** Dr. Eggman once tried to blow up a city of completely innocent people, but can't stand torturing victims, as shown when he witnesses [[WouldHurtAChild Black Narcissus torturing Chris and Cosmo]] and says, "I'm not above evil myself but torturing people is just plain wrong."
** He also in one episode alerts his arch-nemesis, Sonic, that the Metarex are planning to kill him and his friends stating that "if anyone is to get revenge on that hedgehog it's going to be me! And through less brutal means!"

*** In Episode 13, two of Noin's former students, named Alex and Mueller, are pretty ruthless when they attack remnant forces of the Alliance, and refuse to accept surrenders even when they're offered. When [[RedBaron Zechs Merquise]] joins with them in a later attack, he orders the Alliance forces to surrender and is appalled that Alex and Mueller are still attacking surrendering troops. Then they ouright act like Zechs betrayed his word in an attempt to frame him for disobeying orders, and attempt to kill him. Zechs is ''not happy'' with the two and immediately kills Mueller, slicing his Aries in two. Alex continues his attack on Zechs, partly out of vengeance for his friend, and partly because he felt Zechs was too lenient on the enemy forces. When Zechs finally gets ahold of the petulant, bloodthirsty Alex's Cancer, Zechs deems him an irredeemable piece of work and [[HalfTheManHeUsedToBe tears the Mobile Armor in half]] with the Tallgeese's ''hands.''

** Also, in ''Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam'' the Titans are a brutal elite force that fights the AEUG and commits lots of atrocities while at it, but many of its members are repulsed when it comes to gassing entire colonies. In fact, [[spoiler: the {{Face Heel Turn}} [[DarkActionGirl Reccoa]] killed TheDragon for having sent her in a mission that, well, had her gassing a colony.]]

*** In episode 13, two of Noin's former students are pretty ruthless when they attack remnant forces of the Alliance, and refuse to accept surrenders even when they're offered. When Zechs joins with them in a later attack, he orders the Alliance forces to surrender and is appalled that the two OZ troops are still attacking surrendering troops. One of them is killed by the Alliance who feels Zechs betrayed his word in a last-ditch attack. The other one starts attacking Zechs partly out of vengeance for his friend, and partly because he felt Zechs was too lenient on the enemy forces. Zechs ends up destroying the other OZ trooper's mobile suit as a result.
** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'', the people inside Jachin Due are shocked when they hear Patrick Zala give the order to aim GENESIS at the Earth. One aide, Ray Yuuki, tells him that it would kill half of Earth's population and destroy the surface; Patrick shoots him. When another aide warns him that the other ZAFT soldiers are in the line of fire, Patrick tells them it's for their victory and that the Naturals ''must'' be eradicated. Ray uses the last of his life to shoot Patrick.

** When [[AffablyEvil Pegasus]] notices [[CheatersNeverProsper Bandit Keith]] pulling cards from his wristband during his duel with Jounouchi (Joey in the dub), he waits for Jounouchi to win, then calls Keith out both on his cheating during the duel, and stealing Jounouchi's entry card to try and get him disqualified. Pegasus then has his security guards haul Keith away and congratulates Jounouchi on winning in spite of Keith's dirty tactics. In the manga, when Keith decides to ''threaten'' him for the prize, Pegasus is disgusted enough to kill him with a Penalty Game by turning Keith's hand into a gun and forcing him to commit suicide for his impudent actions, ''all the while making the most serious face he's made up 'til that point''.
** Speaking of Pegasus, we should keep in mind that Jounouichi, Honda (Tristan in the dub), Anzu (Téa in the dub), and Bakura were not invited to his tournament at all (they had to stow away on the ship in order to even get there) and he could have had them all thrown off the island at any moment. Instead, he allowed them into his home and gave them rooms and food like the four finalists. Plus, Mai had previously been defeated and lost all her star chips to a Player Killer, and only got them back after Yugi beat him for her, so Pegasus could have easily had her disqualified as well. Aside from his plan to take the Millennium Puzzle, Pegasus was a remarkably good sport about things.
** Played with in Battle City. Marik decides to cheat by using Rishid (Odion in the dub), who is posing as him, to use the (fake) Millennium Rod to "release" Bakura's good half, who is confused and wincing in pain from the stabbed arm Dark Bakura gave him prior, since Dark Yugi wouldn't be likely to attack his friend in that state. Dark Bakura subsequently betrays Marik, but he doesn't do it because he has standards or because he cares about Bakura; he only does it because if Bakura is killed, ''he'll'' cease to exist. Though he ''does'' give Marik a look of disgust before he takes back control over Bakura, implying that this trope is a part of his motivations.
** [[Anime.YuGiOh In a filler arc of the anime]], Noah intervenes to stop Ooka (Johnson in the dub) from cheating with his duel with Jounouchi, irritated since he wants his cronies to best Seto and his friends fair and square. If it weren't for Jounouchi convincing him to let the duel continue, Noah was set to stop the duel since, by all accounts, Jounouchi would have won by then if Ooka hadn't cheated. (Unfortunately, Noah later proves [[{{Hypocrite}} little better than Ooka]].)

** In the original manga, Kaiba has this reaction when he sees Marik's duel arena for Yugi to fight the brainwashed Jounouchi — designed so that one of them will be killed in the end — believing that even at his worst, he would not have stooped so low as to create a challenge with no other alternative. Bear in mind that his worst is an AxCrazy JerkAss who spent a fortune to build an amusement park with five levels of deadly devices and games, complete with an expert torturer, two ex-military specialists, a contract killer, and a serial killer, all in the name of revenge for "the other Yugi" beating him at a Shadow Game of Duel Monsters... well, that and the [[MindRape Penalty Game]] he got as a result, which had haunted him in his nightmares since. In his view, as bad as all those things were, they were still fully-beatable games and puzzles that could be solved on their own terms without any consequences if the person entering was good enough; meanwhile, Marik's game is little more than a glorified SadisticChoice.

** [[BigBad Rex Godwin]] has nothing but disdain for Takasu, a prison warden who abuses his power, frames the inmates for rules violations (among other abuses), cheats as a duelist, and is generally a disgusting person, eventually fired him.[[note]]''After'' he loses in a duel to Yusei, ''in spite'' of all the cheating ''and'' with Yusei playing with a deck literally scrapped together from cards given by fellow inmates.[[/note]]

* In ''Anime/YuGiOhZEXAL'', Vector is more evil ''by far'' than the other six Barian Emperors, and ''none'' of them like him very much. (Alit, especially, seems to have nothing but contempt for him, and Durbe actually has to [[LetMeAtHim hold an angry Mizael back]] to prevent him from attacking Vector after he insults the defeated Alit and Gilag.) In fact, Vector appears to be the only one who has actually does ''anything'' that could be truly considered "evil", other than fighting the good guys. (Gilag [[{{Brainwashed}} brainwashes]] a few people, but such victims don't seem to be permanently harmed by it.)

** Edward Weevil might be a DumbMuscle with ElmuhFuddSyndwome who responded to everyone who told him Whitebeard (his self-proclaimed father) ''had'' no treasure by beating them and the entire town they were in up, but once he hears corrupt Marines were attacking Whitebeard's hometown, he attacks said Marines with such ferocity one of the [[AuthorityEqualsAsskicking Admirals]] was needed to stop him. Especially because Whitebeard's former crew tried to keep him away from said village for fear he'd destroy it.

*** Yoshikage Kira may be a SerialKiller willing to [[WouldHurtAChild murder a child]], but he's clearly disgusted when he encounters a stalker, going as far as to [[KickTheSonOfABitch murder him]].

*** The Nazis. While they're initially willing to throw away human lives and commit other questionable acts just to study Santana, they quickly realize that the Pillar Men are [[EvilIsNotAToy ''bad news for everyone'']] and dedicate their efforts to keeping them from ever waking up, and fight them when they do. [[spoiler:They even pull a BigDamnHeroes moment in the end!]]

* ''Anime/IsekaiQuartet'' sees that even the {{villain protagonist}}s of ''Literature/Overlord2012'' and ''Literature/TheSagaOfTanyaTheEvil'' are among those disturbed by the depths of [[LightNovel/KonoSuba Darkness]]'s masochism.

*** [[BigBad Kars]] is a FauxAffablyEvil {{Jerkass}} and incredibly [[EvilIsPetty petty]], but he would never harm animals, as shown when he saves a puppy from a drunk driver.

* In ''Literature/KonoSuba'', after Megumin repeatedly casts [[HavingABlast Explosion]] on his castle day after day, [[HeadlessHorseman Beldia the Dullahan]] rides to Axel and tries to curse Megumin to die in a week, though the curse is intercepted by Darkness. While [[PhysicalGod Aqua]] is able to easily remove the curse after Beldia leaves, he returns over a week later, absolutely enraged that no one even tried to head to his castle to force him to undo the curse and save Darkness or at least avenge her (and that Megumin ''still'' continues to blow up his castle). Beldia is then extremely surprised, to say the least, [[ThisCannotBe when he finds Darkness still alive and no worse for wear]].

** In ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing'', OZ leader Treize Khushrenada was vehemently opposed to the Romefeller Foundation's Mobile Doll System, feeling that they would make humans unnecessary for battle. As a result, he resigned as Chairman of Romefeller, and OZ soldiers loyal to Treize split off to form the Treize Faction.

* ''Manga/BlackButler'': Sebastian may be a demon who eats children's souls and kills remorselessly, but even he expresses distate for [[spoiler: Grell]] breaking shinigami rules and killing unapproved victims.

** For all of Kaido's sadism, he is a very honorable warrior and respects roar combat. He despises underhanded tactics and will not take cheap shots if they are available; preferring to achieve victory his own way.

** When [[spoiler:Kabuto]] revives [[spoiler:the real Madara Uchiha as an Edo zombie]], the nine-tailed fox sealed inside of Naruto [[EnemyMine offers to give Naruto some of his power (without trying to take over his body)]]. Why? Because he REALLY hates [[spoiler:Madara]]. Anyone halfway decent hates [[spoiler:Uchiha Madara]], even Kurama, even '''[[TheUnfettered Tobi]]'''.

** [[MadBomber Jackal]] of Tartaros is a [[AxCrazy completely batshit insane murderer,]] and is one of the vilest villains in the whole series, but he dislikes the fact that his current target, [[DirtyCoward Michello,]] [[MoralEventHorizon ran and left his granddaughter for dead to save his own stinking skin.]]

** In [[Anime/FullmetalAlchemist the first anime]], when [[spoiler:Dante erases Gluttony's tattoo and turns him into a mindless eating machine]], even [[JerkAss Envy]] looks a bit horrified. Keep in mind that, [[AdaptationalVillainy in this continuity]], Envy is ''pure evil.''
