** In terms of endurance, some characters like Guts are known to power through even the toughest attacks. This is seen in fights like Guts VS Nightmare and Sabrewulf VS Jon Talbain, where combatants are brutally injured yet still pull off the win.

* MistakenIdentity:
** Red mistakes Agumon(a Digimon) for a Pokémon and tries to catch him before Tai arrives.
** The Optimus vs. Gundam fight was also a case of this: Amuro thought that Optimus was an enemy Mobile Suit while Optimus thought that the Gundam was a Decepticon.

* ImmuneToBullets: Both Robocop and the Terminator take their fair share of bullets in their fight.

* IShallTauntYou: Pikachu, Rainbow Dash, Majin Buu, and Deadpool are guilty of this mid-battle.
** Pre-battle, Spiderman commits [[YouFightLikeACow to the usual]].

** How [[spoiler:Donatello, Raphael, Kratos, and Harry Potter]] die at the hands of their respective foes.
** [[spoiler:Kratos]] tries this with [[spoiler:Spawn]], but he doesn't know that he has to be killed by [[spoiler:decapitation]], so it just slows him down.
** [[spoiler:Miley Cyrus]] also gets impaled by a falling sword in the Justin Bieber vs. Rebecca Black battle; the falling sword in question was from said fight and was sent flying after [[spoiler:Rebecca's friend's car exploded, eventually landing in Miley's head, killing her.]]

** Happens to both Wolverine and Raiden in "Wolverine vs Raiden". None of them were lethal, however, thanks to Wolverine's HealingFactor and Raiden's toughness.

** Kirbopher was chosen to voice Tommy because of his work on Super Freakin Parody Rangers. A series he did not voice a ranger in.

* FunnyBackgroundEvent: In The Joker vs. Sweet Tooth; During the part where Needles Kane lifts The Joker by his neck, a Starbucks can be seen in the background.

* GeoEffects: Are taken into consideration, and the fights often change locales to both the fighter's strength's and weaknesses.

* GunsAreWorthless: The few times an actual gun have been used in any fights (such as in "Master Chief vs. Doomguy", "Kratos vs. Spawn", or "Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake"), they do little to no damage. [[spoiler:In the former, very few bullets hit their target, and even a sniper shot to the groin only momentarily stunned Doomguy, with the killing blow coming from a Plasma Grenade. Kratos simply deflected the bullets from Spawn before knocking the gun away. Neither Lara nor Nathan could hit each other with a single bullet, thanks to being trained at avoiding bullets in a firefight.]]

Toph later returned the favor with her own variation on the Sand Burial and manipulated Gaara's sand armor to crush ''his'' body and win.]]

** Subverted with [[spoiler:Twilight Sparkle]] after [[spoiler: her spell turns Raven into a potted plant]]. Before [[spoiler:she can stomp the plant into dust, Raven's soul-self divebombs her with massive force, killing ([[AmbiguousEnding or incapacitating]]) her.]]

** Subverted in the ''Mega Man Battle Royale'' with [[spoiler:Geo Stelar's Red Gaia Eraser. He tries to use it (in X's body) to kill MegaMan.EXE, but EXE powers through it and fires back, killing Geo. It DOES still crack EXE's Dark Aura, though.]]

** Subverted and later played straight by the same move in Johnny Cage vs. Captain Falcon. [[spoiler:The Falcon Punch fails the first time it's tried, but when Captain Falcon tries it later a second time, it works and blows Johnny to pieces.]]
** Both combatants attempt this in ''All Might vs. Might Guy'', with the United States of Smash and Night Guy respectively. [[spoiler: The Night Guy is the actual finishing move.]]
** Shadow attempts this with Chaos Blast in his super form twice, once against Vegeta, once against Ryūko. [[spoiler: Shadow's super form runs dry against Vegeta and he gets finished by a Galick Gun as mentioned above, but he's [[NoBodyLeftBehind a lot more successful against Ryūko.]]]]

* MadeOfIron: Pretty much every combatant takes one hell of beating before one of them eventually goes down. Noticable examples who are clearly mortal include;
** Vegeta and Goku, who have each survived planet-destroying ki blasts; [[spoiler: Vegeta was able to outlast Shadow because of this, but Goku could not outlast the indestructable Superman.]]
** Doomguy and Master Chief, who wear heavy futuristic body armor and have unnaturally-strong bones and flesh, [[spoiler: yet since Master Chief's armor has a regenerative shield, he could outlast Doomguy who needed powerups to recover health.]]
** Kratos, who stabbed himself with his own godly Sword of Olympus and has been crushed before, [[spoiler: but he has legitimately died before, and could not outlast the immortal Spawn.]]
** Cloud Strife, who has been impaled multiple times, [[spoiler: yet isn't enough to outlast Link, who could basically block all of Cloud's moves with his Hylian Shield.]] At least, that was in their first match. [[spoiler:In their rematch, a significantly better-equipped Cloud proved to have answers for most of Link's arsenal, forcing the two into a physical contest that Link just couldn't win.]]
** Shao Khan and M. Bison, both of whom have survived being impaled and have outlasted similarly superhuman combatants with ease, [[spoiler: but while Bison has a healing factor, his body actually decays during a match and can easily destroy itself if his Psycho Power's negative effects drain an already-damaged body. Shao Khan's durability doesn't deteriorate during a match.]]
** Robocop and Terminator, who both survived being slammed into buildings, blown up and appear immune to gunfire. [[spoiler: However, Robocop's armor has shown much more durability compared to Terminator's. It also puts Terminator at a huge disadvantage when Robocop has more destructive futuristic weapons while Terminator is forced to use present-day weapons.]]
** Godzilla, who has only officially been 'killed' in battle by Mechagodzilla 2 who exploited his second brain. He has survived a mini-black hole, nuclear explosions at point blank (without flinching), fell into a volcano and has endured lethal beatdowns from other Kaijus including; getting lacerated by the living buzzsaw Gigan, having much of his flesh burned off by the walking toxic alien Hedorah, and being sliced up by the laser horn of the crab demon Destroyah. [[spoiler: This allowed him to endure Gamera, who is clearly more frail in combat.]]
** Deathstroke, who even without his high-tech armor can survive and regenerate from lethal injuries [[spoiler: but could still be killed and had no way to defeat the immortal Deadpool.]]
** Kirby, who can survive the destruction of planets and being completely crushed. [[spoiler: Outside of the chocolate beam, Kirby could endure most of Buu's moves.]]
** Guts has survived all manner of injuries from [[ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice impalement]], [[OutOfTheInferno immolation]] and raw brute force, and that's not including [[LifeOrLimbDecision self-mutilation]] when required. It's practically a requirement when going up against demons more powerful than him on a daily basis, [[spoiler:and it proves to be his main advantage for surviving against the much stronger Nightmare, [[OneWingedAngel Night Terror]] and Inferno (with the help of the Berserker Armor) long enough to destroy Soul Edge]].
** Snake's greatest tests of durability include surviving tank blasts as well as surviving in the Outer Heaven microwave chamber. It is expected that a normal human inside a high energy microwave chamber would have their flesh burned off and die in less than a minute. Snake survived a total of 3 minutes of exposure and crawled to the other side all the while. [[spoiler:These feats helped him seal his victory over Sam who, despite wearing heavier kevlar armor, proved to be much less durable.]]
** Both Donkey Kong and Knuckles have survived atmospheric reentry. [[spoiler:However, only DK survived an explosion strong enough to launch him into orbit to begin with, giving him the superior defense.]]
** Yang has survived being slammed through 4 feet of solid concrete by a house-sized MiniMecha, fallen several stories, and crashed into the ground at terminal velocity with nearly 50 tons of force, and on all occasions walked away without being seriously hurt. [[spoiler:It's the major reason she won against [[GlassCannon Ti]][[SuperStrength fa]], as it's calculated that the necessary force to shatter concrete of that thickness would have required at least ''1400 tons'' of force, far more than anything Tifa can dish out against her. Add in her [[CriticalStatusBuff Semblance]], and victory was only a matter of time]].
** Mega Man and Astro Boy have ridiculous levels of durability despite their young appearances, the former having survived atmospheric re-entry and entire fortresses exploding and collapsing on top of him, while the latter has endured a dip ''in the sun'' and disintegration rays without any real damage. [[spoiler:Astro Boy's advanced polymer skin is far more durable than Mega Man's Ceratanium alloy, or at least durable enough to tank anything Rock can throw at him, while he ''does'' have what it takes to break Mega Man's armor]].
** Hawkeye has survived falls from several stories, fought battles against giant enemies while heavily injured with cracked ribs, and even survived a hail of machine gun fire from an alleyway ambush and made a full recovery a mere 6 weeks later. [[spoiler:This eclipses any feat that Green Arrow had and helped gain him the win.]]
** [=MetalGreymon=] and [=WarGreymon=] are covered in [[FantasyMetals Chrome Digizoid]] armor, a nigh-unbreakable super-metal that can only be damaged by itself or the strongest of attacks, and even Greymon has endured blows powerful enough shatter stone and metal only to stand back up. [[spoiler:Charizard barely made Greymon flinch through direct attacks, and even as [[SuperMode Mega Charizard X]] only his strongest attacks could actually do any real harm [=WarGreymon=], and it wasn't enough against the Digimon's [[WeaponOfXSlaying Dramon Destroyers]]]].
** Metal Sonic and Zero are shown to be ridiculously durable even by robot standards. ''Anime/SonicTheHedgehogTheMovie'' shows that Metal Sonic could easily deal with an impact that dislodged a giant, city-sized stalactite. In ''VideoGame/MegaManX5'', Zero managed to survive crashing the spaceship he was in into [[FloatingContinent Eurasia]], causing the space colony to explode. [[spoiler:The latter feat is proven to ''eclipse'' the former -- Metal's was surviving around 200 thousand TNT tons, while Zero's was surviving around 100 ''trillion'' TNT tons, making him durable enough to tank anything Metal Sonic/Overlord could throw at him.]]
** Ichigo managed to shrug off a blast which completely torched one of his arms and handle being punched through multiple city blocks at once, while Naruto is capable of surviving an attack that split the moon in two and survive a blast caused by his own siphoned off chakra which blew a hole in the very same moon. Come the actual fight, [[spoiler: Ichigo gets up after being punched to the ground by Naruto's Kurama avatar (which caused a lot of bleeding, mind you) and counterattacks with Mugetsu. Naruto tanks this and obliterates a depowered Ichigo. In the analysis, it is stated that Naruto's base form durability is beyond Ichigo's with all his forms stacked on top of each other.]]
** Surprisingly ([[OneHitPointWonder especially for the former]]), both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon have extreme feats of durability, each having survived around 2 million tons of force. This also meant that they were at a MutualDisadvantage as each others' durability could withstand almost all of the others' attacks. [[spoiler:Almost, because Dark Spyro's Aether Breath [[DisintegratorRay which disassembles stuff on the molecular level]] was far too much for the bandicoot to handle.]]
** Ryūko Matoi, owing to the fact that she's been infused with life fibers, giving her an incredibly potent HealingFactor, and managed to handle, when using Senketsu Kisaragi, blowing a hole through a net of life fibers around the planet, calculated to be equivalent to about 658 exatons (That's a measurement of 'quintillions') of TNT, making her ludicrously tough to kill, which is noted as being quite a ways stronger and tougher than Shadow's baseline. [[spoiler:Unfortunately for her, even without taking into the account she's on a time limit due to Senketsu draining her blood, Shadow could output a lot more power (Even one Chaos Emerald, which Shadow can match with taking off his Inhibitor Rings, was calculated to be able to output equivalent to about 407 zettatons (that's a measurement of 'sextillions') of TNT, meaning that Shadow didn't really have much trouble bypassing said healing factor when he could output so much more power than she could take, combined with his massive speed advantage and time manipulation, which also didn't leave Ryūko with much of a chance of landing a fatal blow... And that's ''without'' mentioning Super Shadow.]]

* LaserBlade: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett's Lightsabers, Sektor's Pulse Blades, one of Samus's Paralyzer's alternate forms, and Zero's Z-Saber.

* MirrorCharacter: Most pairings are based on two combatants sharing the same roles/careers, abilities and even origins. While these make them evenly matched at times, their individual feats and accomplishments tend to tip the scales in one's favor over the other.

** [[Spoiler:''"Strongest Alive"'']] has choruses of two tracks related to [[spoiler:Izuku, ''"Mighty"'' and ''"Marvel For All"'']]. [[spoiler:Asta]] just barely wins in the fight animation.

** Cloud Strife, who has been impaled multiple times, [[spoiler: yet isn't enough to outlast Link, who could basically block all of Cloud's moves with his Hylian Shield.]] At least, that was in their first match. [[spoiler:In their rematch, a significantly better-equipped Cloud proved to have answers for most of Link's arsenal, forcing the two into a physical contest that Link just couldn't win.

* DarkerAndEdgier: Season 9 is notably this compared to previous seasons. Many of the fights have a tragic angle to them, such as ''Omni-Man vs Homelander'', ''Tanjiro vs. Jonathan'', ''Magneto vs. Tetsuo'', ''James Bond vs. John Wick'' and ''Black Adam vs. Apocalypse''. Furthermore, the only straight laced heroic combatants of the entire season thus far are Zatanna, Jonathan, Tanjiro, Vegeta, Thor, Hercules, Sun Wukong, Xeno Trunks, Archie Silver, [=SpongeBob=] [=SquarePants=], [=SuperFriends=] Aquaman, Deku, Asta, Gogeta, and Vegito. The rest of the combatants have been varying shades of AntiHero, AntiVillain or outright antagonist.

* HealingFactor: A few characters have one, but the aspect of having one boils down to how powerful one is that it can save a character from death. This, and whether their opponent has any AntiRegeneration abilities are determining factors in the [[spoiler:Deadpool vs. Deathstroke, Dante vs. Bayonetta, Hulk vs. Doomsday, Deadpool vs. Pinkie Pie, Kirby vs. Majin Buu, Venom vs. Bane, Carnage vs. Lucy, the Mega Man Battle Royale, Ghost Rider vs. Lobo, Deadpool vs. The Mask, Wally West vs. Archie Sonic, Venom vs. Crona, Hulk vs. Broly, Shadow vs. Ryuko Matoi, Dio vs. Alucard and Madara vs. Aizen battles. Deadpool and Doomsday had healing factors magnitudes greater than their opponents, with Doomsday overtaxing Hulk's to seal his win. Dante's healing factor allowed him to take a lot more punishment than Bayonetta and became a factor as to why Deadpool and Pinkie's fight ended in a draw thanks to Pinkie's ToonPhysics. Kirby shot Buu into the sun and won. However, Vergil's healing factor while ludicrously powerful was overtaxed by Sephiroth's Supernova, allowing Sephiroth to finish him off. While Carnage could restore himself from LudicrousGibs, it wasn't enough against nuclear-level incineration that Lucy's vectors were capable of. Mega Man X could physically regenerate from being destroyed down to his core, but this didn't help him against Star Force Mega Man's superior hacking ability. Lobo could regenerate from a single drop of blood, but Ghost Rider's hellfire could burn out said regeneration ''and'' destroy his soul. After wiping out the Lobo clones this way, Ghost Rider Penance Stares Lobo's soul and eats it. The Mask's ToonPhysics proved superior to Deadpool's regeneration and couldn't be negated with the carbonadium sword. Wally West could survive being in the depths of a black hole, regenerate from being turned into gas, and even resist existence erasure, making him much sturdier than Archie Sonic. Venom was both sturdier than Bane and had a superior healing factor. Bane couldn't exploit the Venom Symbiote's weaknesses to fire or sound, but Crona's sound waves proved over a thousand times stronger than anything that Venom has survived. Despite the Hulk's healing factor being greatly upgraded in his second appearance, it still doesn't help him when Broly completely atomizes him. Shadow could use his far superior speed in addition to the teleportation and time manipulation granted through his Chaos Control to [[SpeedBlitz attack Ryuko fast and hard enough to prevent her Life Fibers' healing factor from kicking in]]. Alucard, while his regeneration speed is far superior to Dio's, has a set limit based on how many souls he has, which Dio was strong and fast enough to drain. Dio's healing factor was inferior, but Alucard would never reach the point that her could wear it down. Madara and Aizen both had extremely impressive healing factors, both of which left the other without any real way to put the other down... except for Madara's Truth-Seeking Orbs, which could negate similar regeneration from Edo Tensei zombies, which was ruled to be sufficient to bypass Aizen's healing factor and take the soul reaper down for good]].

** Being a bear, Smokey already towers over [=McGruff=] the Crime Dog, [[AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever and then the former shows off his alleged ability to grow to the size of a mountain]], which [=McGruff=] can't do. [[spoiler:Smokey Bear crushes [=McGruff=] like a bug.]]
