-> ''"Bookronpa is pretty cool"''
-->-- '''Kastor''', "Bookronpa: A Confounding Stay at Kastor's Country Club"

''[[https://discord.gg/uxjVSyC Bookronpa]]'' is a ''Franchise/{{Danganronpa}}'' roleplay with a twist; all of the characters are not human, but instead anthropomorphized books. This doesn't make them any less impervious to death, however, as becomes apparent when they're forced to kill each other in a {{deadly game}}.

It is hosted on Discord and has been completed.

When a corporation tried to stifle his entire village's spirit and turn them into profit-churning slaves, Atlaua refused to let it interfere with his love of the sport. He sought out underground fishing competitions and thrived there, becoming a champion of the seas. The least likely to get pop culture references.

Atlaua is one of the two victims in Chapter 3, killed by Soren Oleander.
----
* CoolHat: He wears one of the fisherman's variety.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: He was killed while trying to protect Dexter. In his last moments, he tried to trace Soren's cover design onto his face in ink.
* HeroicSacrifice: When Soren attacked him and Dexter, Atlaua tried to fend Soren off so Dexter could run. He died while doing so.
* MeaningfulName: He's named after a water god.

Your average happy-go-lucky do-gooder that has a lot of knowledge and compassion for birds. He has a pet penguin named Pingi who will be accompanying him to Kastor's Country Club, who he loves like his own child. The likeliest to spend over an hour a day feeding ducks.

Choriu is the Chapter 1 victim, killed by [=McQueen.=]

[[caption-width-right:292: "LADIES AND GENTLEBOOKS! MAGIC! MYSTERY! ABSOLUTE SPLENDOR! For the first time, in front of your incredibly lucky eyes...BEHOLD!"]]

The self-christened The Amazing, Talented (and Incredibly Dexterous) Dexter, Dexter if you’re pedestrian and Dex if you aren’t even trying, as you can imagine, likes himself a lot, and so do his audiences! He’s easily spooked when it comes to things being outside of his control, or when blood enters the picture. It’s a shame he doesn’t have more than two rabbits under his ornate hat, as far as intelligence goes. The most likely to fake an illness.

Dexter is one of the two victims in Chapter 3, killed by Soren Oleander.
----
* LivingADoubleLife: Before Dexter went by his current name, he robbed banks with his partner in crime Mace (literally, since they were boyfriends) under his real name, Rainne. After Mace was arrested, Dexter was forced to take on a new identity in order to prevent his own arrest.
* MagiciansAreWizards: In Chapter 3, Dexter reveals that he has telekinesis and the ability to teleport himself- which he used both for his talent and...robbing banks.
* NiceHat: Dexter always wears his purple magician hat wherever he goes! That is, except to the afterlife. Good thing Xenith brought it with him.
* PunnyName: His last name is "Hopkins," referencing the fact that Stage Magicians use rabbits in their acts.
%%* ShipTease: With Tetly.
* ShipperOnDeck: Teases Takatobi and Tetly when sparks start to fly between them.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Even though Dexter loves to boast about how marvelous he is, no one in the country club recognizes him outside of the game.

[[caption-width-right:350: "Every time I even think about this god-damn game I just...g-get ANGRY!! Ruining this HELL of a game would be a pleasure to me!"]]

Kinzoku has a monstrous temper and wears a glove to protect his fist when he punches walls in anger. He strongly believes that books work best with leaders. The most likely to have road rage.

Kinzoku is the Chapter 4 killer, and is executed via "Kinzoku's Grand Finale".
----
* ByronicHero: To a degree! Kinzoku has a tough time making friends, but is still a good person at heart.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Has his wrists and ankles tied to puppet strings and was swung around until his neck broke.
* HandPuppet: He often uses these for his shows.
%%* HisOwnWorstEnemy
* MoreHeroThanThou: Both him and Concordia were willing to put their lives on the line to escape, but in the end Kinzoku sacrificed himself without Concordia's knowledge by making F1337 take cyanide instead of sleeping pills.
* YouAreWhatYouHate: Kinzoku hates killers, but becomes one. Fitting, because he hates himself.

The one and only Takatobi knows he’s one awesome volleyball player, and he wants everyone to know it! He’s arrogant, brash, and in-your-face about pretty much everything, and will act without thinking, even if it makes him look like a jerk (and it often does make him look like a jerk). He’s very tall relative to other books, and uses it to his advantage. Probably the most tired of being asked “how’s the weather up there?”.

Takatobi survives the killing game. He is living in a shared apartment with Tetly and Julian, and visited [=McQueen's=] family after the killing game concluded.

Tetly has the demeanor of someone who’s constantly running late for an important meeting: snappy and impatient, with a slightly tense posture. Still, he can certainly be lauded for his lack of dawdling. Has the neatest handwriting.

Tetly survived the killing game. He currently lives in a shared apartment with Takatobi and Julian and is no longer working for his stepfather.

A book hardly touched by murder and the gruesome, it makes sense that he'd dedicate his life to criminal justice. He works long hours to gather and collect evidence to bring bad guys to justice. The least likely to cry at weddings.

Xenith is one of two Chapter 5 victims, killed by Eve Liedgenwiel.

After she lost her father, she went on a soul-searching journey through a deep forest to figure out what to do with her life. After a fateful encounter with a green rosebush, she decided to plant a beautiful garden in his memory. Nowadays, that garden is one of the largest and best-maintained in the world. The most likely to wake up before sunrise.

Amber survived the killing game. She is currently traveling the world, planting flowers in memorium for the deceased club members.
----
* FertileFeet: Chapter 3's motive reveals that Amber has the magical ability to increase the growth of plants. Temporarily turns into WalkingWasteland in Chapter 5, when her distress over Evian's death causes the grass to wilt beneath her.

%%* TheIdealist

[[caption-width-right:350: "Lives at stake or not, it's still a game. And I fully intend on winning it."]]

Never one to take kindly to being overshadowed, Athina goes out of her way to stand out at every turn. She wants to prove to both herself and the world that she’s far better than the previous “Ultimate” Badminton player, a personal rival of sorts. The one who hates showoffs the most.

Athina survived the killing game. She has mended her relationship with Minerva, and they now play badminton together.
----
* DefrostingIceQueen: Over the course of the game, Athina's gradually worked towards overcoming her fear of showing weakness, mostly thanks to Callie's influence.
* ImproperlyParanoid: The irrational blame she puts on herself for her sister's circumstances causes her to irrationally believe everyone is or will be out to get her for it, and that in turn only further leads her into her downwards spiral of irrational thinking.
* ItsAllMyFault: Despite the numerous circumstances leading to the early end of her sister's career, Athina firmly believes she was the main cause, and her catastrophizing of the situation only worsens her well-being.
* SecondLove: She's the second girl Callie has been with, and while they aren't explicitly in a romantic relationship, their bond is going strong as of Chapter 6.
* SolarAndLunar: She and her twin Minerva's cover designs resemble the sun and moon respectively.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Athina and Minerva; the Greek and Roman equivalents of the same goddess.

Her encouraging words and pep have filled her eSports teammates with determination that’s helped win a-many games. Outside of competitions, she’s a popular streamer under the name of _st4r; her likable personality and sense of humor have endeared her to many watchers. The most likely to want to hold someone's hand.

Callie is the Chapter 6 killer, and is executed via "Game Over".

An insomniac who seems unaffected by the world, handling even unpleasant things with a slight smile. Her greatest talent is to help others find the sleep she struggles to find. The most likely to feel lonely at night.

Eve is the Chapter 5 killer, and is executed via "The Bedtime Story".
----
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Forced to read a bedtime story to an unruly child who rips her apart and turns her into a nightlight.
* NiceGirl: She's generally personable and nice when she is around.
* ReallyFondOfSleeping: So fond, in fact, that she killed to bring it to those she cared about.

Fleet is the Chapter 4 victim, killed by Kinzoku Ayatsuri.
----
%%* BrattyHalfPint: In her humanization, she's one of the shortest club members.
* CharacterDevelopment: She learns to be kinder as the game goes on, and sets out to make up for her less moral actions in Chapter 4.

A well-known dog sled racer hailing from Akiachak, Alaska, Shila is as quiet as the snowy expanses she’s accustomed to. She takes everything rather seriously and is chilly in how she regards others. Still, it’s clear she has a great deal of warmth in her heart for her team of dogs! Heavens knows they’ve been more there for her than the books in her life. In fact, one of her dogs, her greatest companion Miska, will be joining her here! The most likely to think dogs should vote.

Shila is the Chapter 2 victim, killed by Origen.

She saved her two fathers' marriage by realizing that she could help them talk through it. Thence, she realized her true talent: helping people work through their conflicts with each other. The most likely to accept barter as payment.

Concordia survives the killing game. She now runs a grief counseling business.
----
* KarmaHoudini: Concordia's plot directly led to Kinzoku and F1337 getting executed in Chapter 4. She didn't get executed because she didn't land the final blow, is all. As of the end of Chapter 5, they still haven't died despite being the most hated among the remaining Club Members.
* ManipulativeBastard: Exhibited shades of this when they tormented Tandy, then did this in the extreme during Chapter 4. They got F1337 to hack into Xenith, and used him to chainsaw her to pieces. They even got Kinzoku to serve as an accomplice, though he outsmarted them in the end.

[=McQueen=] is the Chapter 1 killer, and is executed via "Four Functions".

He faces most things with coolness and tackles them with “creative wrath.” The most likely to believe in ghost stories.

Soren was the Chapter 3 killer, and was executed via "Princely Punishment".

Angel's a huge fan of chilling, which he can do a lot as a manager of the rec-n-relaxation area of the country club. As one of the top-ten smoothie makers in the world, his drinks are the bomb! He knows all sorts of things about fruits and how to maximize how flavorful they are. Don't expect him to be quite as sweet as his drinks, though. Unlike his co-manager and twin sister, he can be very sassy...

Angel survives with all the other Board of Directors. He and Spirit bought a pontoon party boat and run a small cruise business together.

* DeadpanSnarker: He can get pretty sassy with people.

%% [[caption-width-right:327:"Well, anyways, I'm a bit of a personal trainer, so to speak! We've got a lovely recreational area for exercise, so if any of you ever want to give it a shot, come to me first! And please try not to hurt yourself with the dumbbells, that's usually an issue with people."]]

%%Along with her twin brother Angel, Angel's in charge of maintaining the rec-n-relaxation area. While she's also an excellent drink-maker, she's more into getting active than chilling! If you ever need tips on how to get more in-shape, she should be happy to help you out. She's kindhearted and gentle, so she's great at working out disputes over pool toys and lounging spots, or just lending a listening ear.

%%The keeper of an old country club deep in the confounding woods. Cake's a wizened and somewhat elderly man with a fondness for trying on different kinds of clothes. He's known to settle disagreements with a game of pool, as that's his favorite! The most likely to have regrets.

%%Cake has been deceased since before the events of the country club killing game began.
