By 2006, Core Design was essentially defunct. The Core Design name and properties remained with Eidos, but the development team was acquired by Creator/{{Rebellion}}, and was re-branded as Rebellion Derby. They were ultimately taken down in 2010 after the critically savaged flop ''Literature/RogueWarrior'', so it's pretty safe to say the Core Design is completely and officially no more. Still, their legacy lives on in more ways than one - similar to the Franchise/SherlockHolmes blue plaque in London, the block of flats that stands where Core's Derby offices were [[http://www.infobarrel.com/media/image/206531_max.jpg has one for Lara Croft]].
