** Apparently, Melisandre's night time activities with the Black Knight are so disgustingly lurid that Rueben Ashford warns Cornelia not to let Euphemia hear it. Cornelia treats the recording as though it where chemical waste.

Lelouch used his Geass on an [[NoNameGiven unnamed Ashford student]] to make her make a mark on certain wall at the academy once a day as an experiment to test its duration. In canon he didn't add any other condition to his instructions, and later on WordOfGod revealed that his Geass' effects simply don't go away on their own, meaning that the girl tried to comply with the Geass command even after she was safely evacuated from Japan in the wake of the Black Rebellion and every night (due to the time difference) she would escape home to try to get back to Tokyo, which eventually pushed her into a nervous breakdown. In this story, however, C.C. was [[ForWantOfANail more forthcoming about the Geass and its dangers early on]] and Lelouch worded his order more carefully and instructed the girl to only act "if she was in Ashford Academy," which prevents all the above from happening.[[invoked]]

* YouAreNumberSix: V.V. grants Directorate operatives with useful Geass powers that survive their training {{Code Name}}s and numbers [[ThemeNaming based on the demons]] of the ''Literature/ArsGoetia''. Rolo is #24 Naberius ([[SpellMyNameWithAnS Nebiros]] in the second compilation movie), Desmond #45 Vine, [[OnlyKnownByTheirNickname Valefar]] #6, and Vassago #3. While the numbers are primarily meaningless, the agents numbered 1-10 are considered his strongest.

* TheTease: C.C. and Milly as in canon. Squared here because they get to interact with each other after the former joins Ashford's StudentCouncil under a cover identity.

* UnexpectedVirgin: [[spoiler:700-year-old C.C. of all people, something that [[YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe blew Lelouch's mind]] when he found out. To wit, becoming immortal did a nasty number on the way C.C.'s mind handled emotions, including her sex drive and making her effectively UsefulNotes/{{Asexual|ity}}. By the time she managed to basically relearn to feel physical pleasure by relying on female partners, she had already been a virgin for longer than most people are able to remain alive, and by then the idea of losing her virginity in a meaningless way felt just wrong to her. So, she [[LetsWaitAWhile waited until meeting]] a man who could make her feel a full spectrum of emotions at long last before making him her first. There's no prizes for guessing who that guy was.]]

* ShipSinking: Jeremiah revealing his suspicions about Lelouch and Nunnally's survival to Cornelia and Euphemia, together with Suzaku's testimony confirming most of the bases of his theory, pretty much precludes any chance of Suzaku/Euphemia from being a thing in this story. The fact that she has well-founded concerns about Suzaku's mental health is another serious blow against that ship.

* UnequalPairing: The power dynamics between Lelouch and Sayoko are complex, to say the least. One the one hand, she's [[MayDecemberRomance seven years his senior]] and romantically interested in him since he was as young as fourteen, she's been his and especially Nunnally's primary caregiver for at least the last four years, his [[TeacherStudentRomance martial arts teacher]] and so above his superior physically that his chances in a straight fight against her [[CurbStompBattle don't even need to be considered]]. On the other hand, he's a Noble and she's a Number, placing him two or three social classes above her (or more, considering he's secretly a Prince), she's nominally hired help working for the Ashford family (and by extension him) who doubles as [[BodyguardCrush his bodyguard]], and things gets exponentially more one-sided after Sayoko swears her fealty to Lelouch. The latter not only made her his liege-woman and he her lord, but the specific oath she willingly swore also serves as an unequal wedding vow of sorts not too different from that of a concubine. Finally, much of the development of their relationship after getting together revolves around Lelouch coming to accept that Sayoko [[PropertyOfLove considers herself truly his]] and on how they build a working professional relationship and an as-healthy-as-possible romantic one from that fact.

* WildCard: Valefar, a former Geass Directorate Agent. They have no allegiance to the Directorate anymore, and are currently allied with the Neo-Shinsengumi after they offered them sanctuary. However, their allegiance to them is solely based on them providing entertainment through their war with Britannia and the Black Knights, and is perfectly willing to reveal the nature of Geass to them aid in creating a good show. They even suggest to Kadzuki using the existence of Geass as a means of blackmailing the Emperor from stopping the Neo-Shinsengumi, meaning they are willing to create a BrokenMasquerade for the sake of aiding a relatively small resistance group, all so things will be "interesting" to them.

* QualityOverQuantity: C.C.'s contractors -- such as Lelouch and Mao -- have a marked tendency to be superior Geass Users than those who contract with V.V. with the sole exception of Charles. V.V.'s other contractors very often gain [[BlessedWithSuck Geass powers with serious drawbacks, when they aren't outright liabilities from the start]], whereas C.C.'s contractors only suffer the logical consequences of their powers becoming stronger with time -- which is something that ''also'' happens to the very few of V.V.'s contractors (un)lucky enough to survive that long. Being TheSociopath that he is, V.V. sees this as a numbers game and contracts as many as 70-80 people per year and recruits the few with useful Geass powers into his service. Marianne is convinced that his lack of concern for his contractees is ''why'' this happens.

* SupermodelStrut: C.C. likes doing this to entice or tease people.

** Suzaku is seen as this after becoming a Honorary Britannian. Most people who know he's the son of the last Prime Minister of Japan consider him an out-and-out traitor.

However, he doesn't give proper maintenance to it and it's so caked with dirt and grease that Kallen estimates that the gun is likely to blow up in his hands if the trigger is pulled, all of which is a handy visual cue of his unprofessionalism, how shallow Tetsuya's loyalty to the cause really is and how he only wants to [[GlorySeeker make a name of himself]].

* RevealingCoverup: Milly's attempt to get rid of the footage of Sayoko entering Theta Base in a stolen Sutherland only served to alert Reuben that she knew about Lelouch's forays into the complex and that she was taking steps to help him.

** V.V.'s agents searching for Valefor get actionable intelligence about their location but acknowledge that it's so convenient and suspicious that it absolutely ''has'' to be a trap. However, it's also the only way they can possibly complete their mission so they spring it anyway.

** Desmond's Ward of Absolute Slumber Geass has relatively minor drawbacks compared to the usual BlessedWithSuck Geasses V.V. typically gives out, especially compared to his self-proclaimed rival Rolo's. This means that his Geass alone was so useful that he let his other skills atrophy, so when he encounters those who can ''resist'' or are just plain immune to said Geass, like C.C., he's taken off-guard and captured.
** While Rolo's drawback of how his Geass stops his heart while in use has kept him from relying on it overly much like Desmond, it's eventually made clear that he's never been on a mission that hasn't been a short-term assassination mission, so when he's sent with a group to find Valefar he seems incapable of comprehending how PragmaticVillainy would require them to ''not'' [[MurderIsTheBestSolution kill people who find him suspicious]] so as to [[RevealingCoverUp avoid drawing the attention of the authorities]].

* TrapIsTheOnlyOption: Lelouch knows full well that the planned Saitama Massacre is intended to draw Zero out. However, he shows up anyway because he fears she'll repeat her tactics in other ghettos if he doesn't.

* RationalFic: In this story, numerous characters behave more intelligently than they did in canon. Similarly, several elements in the backstory were changed to make more sense, like the [[FridgeLogic fridge-y thing]] about Milly only meeting Lelouch and Nunnally after they joined Ashford Academy[[note]]as stated in the AudioPlay Stage 0.911: "Meeting Milly"[[/note]] despite her family being close supporters of Marianne and thus being natural for them to introduce their children to each other.

* SituationalSexuality: Sayoko falls under the "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Situational_sexual_behavior#Harem_effect harem effect]]" clause of this trope as stated in Wiki/TheOtherWiki, as it's been noted that Sayoko isn't bisexual by natural inclination but rather does so as a bonding experience and to entertain Lelouch.

* YouKeepUsingThatWord: The narration/characters will, without exception, use the term [[https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/perquisite perquisite]], when they instead mean [[https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/prerequisite prerequisite]]; notable because the writing is otherwise quite eloquent.
