* AGodIAmNot: After defeating Zanza, Alvis gives Shulk the ability to remake their world so that the inhabitants of the destroyed Mechonis and dying Bionis still have a place to live. He uses this power to fulfill Meyneth's last wish, creating a world without gods, and then relinquishes his power, presumably living out the rest of his life as a mortal.

* AGodIAmNot: Late in the game, he starts displaying mysterious powers, such as continuing to see visions of the future without the need for Zanza's Monado, culminating in the True Monado appearing in his hand and enabling him to defeat Zanza. After defeating Zanza, Alvis gives Shulk informs him that he now has the ability power of creation, and what becomes of the universe is up to remake their him. However, he is very uncomfortable with the idea of being a god. He does create a new world so that the inhabitants of the destroyed Mechonis and dying Bionis still have a place to live. He uses this power to fulfill live, but then, fulfilling Meyneth's last wish, creating wish for a world without gods, and then relinquishes his power, presumably living out the rest of his life as a mortal.

* AntiVillain: He makes it clear that he doesn't actually hate the people of Bionis (even if he does think of them as lower life). He's simply trying to destroy the Bionis itself.

* MoralDissonance: His ultimate goal is effectively ''[[FinalSolution genocide]]'' against everything on Mechonis, because [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman they're just unthinking machines]]. Once he realises ''just how wrong'' this is, he admits he's made a horrible mistake and dedicates himself to ''stopping'' all future fighting between the peoples of the two titans.
