[[folder:In General]]
* AmbiguousGender: Only Gardo, Gilligan and Bonzarus are confirmed to be male.
* AnimalMecha:
** Dakugaga is based on a moth.
** Baizanga seems to be based on a bear.
** Bonzarus and Bombos are based on dragonflies.
** Bad Heil and Karakarus based on bats.
** Galgo is based on a Bengal Tiger.
** Namazungo is based on a catfish.
** Garus is based on a wolf.
** Daiga is based on a dragon.
** Neegu is based on a serpent.
** Gondum is based on a rooster.
** Gonguru is based on a gorilla.
** Jaguard is based on a jaguar and a shark.
** Suneizaa resembles the hydra from the ''Hercules'' Greek mythos.
** Zoru, after he combines with his steed, resembles a centaur.
** Okozenia is based on a trout.
** Sazarus and Kanigan are based on crabs.
** Gorgo and Zainon are based on lobsters.
** Daimon and Saimon appear to be based on both lobsters and crabs.
** Zaizarus is based on a dinosaur and a rhino.
** Though unconfirmed, Kamaguria is either based on a dinosaur, or a bat.
** Aringa is based on a fly.
* AtrociousArthropods: In the earlier episodes, most of the Beast Fighters were bug-based, such as the moth-based Dokugaga and the dragonfly-based Bonzarus. Other arthropods include Kanigan and Sazaras (who are based on crabs), Gamenza and Garuman (who are based on turtles) and Zainon and Gorgo (who are based on lobsters).
* BellBottomLimbedBots: Played with. While most of the Beast Knights are [[AnimalMecha Animal Mechas]], their armour is usually focused on their torsos. However some Beast Knights like Zoru, Zorugeru, Desraa and Zainon play it staight.
** CranialProcessingUnit: Voltes V has busted quote a few Beast Knights by attacking their heads. In cases like Gonguru, attacking the head severely weakens them.
* DubNameChange:
** In the Philippine-English dub, their names were changed from Beast Knights to '''Beast Fighters'''.
** In the Italian dub, their names were changed from Beast Knights to '''Mostri guerrieri'''.
* EasilyDetachableRobotParts: Quite a few times, Voltes V has managed to take apart Beast Knights as if they were Lego toys.
* HornsOfVillainy: Much like the noble Boazanians, the Beast Knights have horns. Girion, a Horned Boazanian, has an armour plate with a horn at the forehead.
* InsectoidAliens: Dokugaga, Bonzarus, Daiand, Aringa and Tobiurago.
* KillerRobot: Unlike Voltes V, who was made to protect and serve humanity, the Beast Knights were created with the intent of desctruction and aid the Boazanians' war efforts.
* MechanicalAbomination: The Beast Knights were crafted to perfection by Boazania's top scientists to ''absolutely devastate'' any territory they approach. In the first episode alone, they manage to hit countries all over the world, causing three million fatalities in Italy, burning Buenos Aires to the ground, [[HarsherInHindsight destroying the Twin Towers]] and cutting off all commmunication between London and the rest of the world.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: A villainous case as [[spoiler: after Zuhl bites the dust]], Belgan replaces him and introduces the Maxingal Alloy, an armor impervious to any damage, creating the Armored Beast Fighters. They prove to give Voltes V serious trouble and the only way to defeat them is to use the Ultra Electromagnetic Energy Ball made to weaken the Maxingal Alloy upon contact, leaving them vulnerable to be finished off by Voltes V's Heaven Sword.
* MechanicalLifeforms: They are sentient to a degree and blindly follow their masters, apart from instances such as Garus acting out of pettiness towards the puppy [[spoiler: who's mother it killed]] and Galgo malfunctioning and accidentally [[spoiler: killing Zaki]].
* MechanicalMonster: The sole purpose of their creation, from birth to death, is to wreak endless havoc on the human race.
* MechanicalMuscles: Gonguru, Desraa, Zainon and Zorugeru count. Quite a few times, this trope is [[JustifiedTrope Justified]]:
** Girion was a gladiator with years of training and experience. He fought dilligently, to gain a higher position in society, being looked down upon despite being Horned because of having Hornless Parents. When Heinel and his aides meet him for the first time, he's scrapping opponents left and right.
** Godol is a HeroOfAnotherStory who saved Boazania from an [[NoodleIncident unnamed incident]]. His feat was so worthy it caused the Boazanians to worship him as a hero and have a statue of him in the Celestial Palace. When Heinel approaches him, he is depicted with massive, bulging muscles on his arms and legs.
* MetalMuncher: The Beast Knights don't ''eat'' metal, but some crush it between their mouths/jaws as if it were food.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: In the earlier episodes, the Beast Fighters would appear OncePerEpisode (or in some cases, twice per episode), though later episodes slowed down in favour of story-based plots. [[spoiler: The last three episodes of the series lack a Beast Knight antagonist except for the GrandFinale, where Heinel pilots Godol]].
* NoisyRobots: Every step most Beast Knights take is accompanied by a loud booming sound, and their attacks are usually accompanied by stock sound effects.
* PoweredArmor: This trope applies to the Beast Knights powered by Belgan's Maxingal Alloy.
* {{Robeast}}: All of them are Robeasts, sans Gardo.
* RobotAntennae: Their HornsOfVillainy double as robot antennae.
* RobotSoldier: Their function is to defeat Voltes V, or die fighting. Girion is the most glaring example, being the child of slaves.
* TelescopingRobot: Don't ask how they manage to pack missiles, beams, heat-rays and other powers during combat, it'll ruin the immersion.
* UndignifiedDeath: Expect every Beast Knight to suffer through a humiliating beatdown before being taken out by the V-Cut. Baizanga in particular was subject to Kenichi's rage for [[spoiler: causing the death of Mitsuyo]] and Gonguru suffered a similar fate [[spoiler: for being behind Professor Hamaguchi's death]]. Galgo, though initially gaining the upper hand during battle, was misled into consuming too much energy and attacked the spaceship of its own ally[[note]]Zaki being the AssholeVictim[[/note]], thus exploding. Garus was weakened by the [[spoiler: puppy who's mother it killed]] before running into the titular robot's sword, and Garuman suffers from an OhCrap moment before his defeat.
* UpgradeVsPrototypeFight: Played with. While Voltes V was created by acclaimed scientist and [[spoiler:former Boazanian Minister of Science of Technology]] Kentaro Go, all of the Beast Fighters post-Okozenia (except for Godol) are made of Belgan's [[PoweredArmor Maxingal Armour]].
* VerticalMechaFins: Most promininent in Okozenia, Dianeegu, Bonzarus and Kanigan. Beast Knights created with the Maxingal Alloy are also prone to this.
* WouldHurtAChild: Many Beast Knights do not differentiate between adult and child in combat and will sweep up civilians in combat, such as Neegu deciding to trash a competition full of children in its debut and Girion holding Hiyoshi's vehicle hostage.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dokugaga]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dokugaga.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000: Dokugaga]]
The first Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----

* BigCreepyCrawlies: It's possible that like Garus, Dokugaga was once a regular-sized animal until either Katherine or Zuhl had it mutated.
* DubNameChange:
** In the Italian dub, Dokugaga was known as '''Dokutran'''.
* GreenAndMean: Dokugaga's colour scheme is primarily green.
* PunnyName: Dokugaga’s name is derived from ''dokuga'' (ドクガ), the Japanese name for Artaxa subflava.
* WarmUpBoss: Due to the Boazanians [[FantasticRacism severely underestimating the humans]], they assumed Dokugaga would finish off Voltes V and were taken aback when he didn't. After his defeat, Heinel ordered his aides to create stronger Beast Fighters.
* TheWorfEffect: Subjected to this by Voltes V to give Heinel and his generals that conquering Earth will not be a piece of cake as they thought.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Baizanga]]
[[quoteright:886:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bazinga_9.png]]
[[caption-width-right:886: Baizanga]]
The second Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----
* BreathWeapon: Baizanga breathes fire.
* CarryABigStick: Its main weapon is a mace, that deflects Voltes V's attacks. Baizanga's other weaponry includes a 4-way grapple chain that binds its opponents.
* ChainPain: Apart from wielding a mace, Baizanga's other main weapon is a chain.
* DubNameChange:
** In the Italian dub, Baizanga was known as '''Zanger'''.
* EyeBeams: Baizanga can produce bright yellow beams from its eyes.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler: During battle, Baizanga manages to bind Voltes V, and comes close to finishing them for good. Refusing to watch and do nothing, Mitsuyo Go abandons her hospital room and forces herself into a jet plane, before [[SuicideMission crashing into Baizanga]]. The Voltes team are stunned, but for Kenichi, the astonishment quickly turns to vitiriol as he subjects Baizanga to a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown before finishing it off with the V-Cut]].
* HornedHumanoid: At one point, he uses his horns to pierce the titular robot.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Baizanga can shoot an array of spikes from the top of it's head.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bonzarus]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/voltes_v_bonzarus.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000:Bonzarus]]
The third Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----

* AmbiguousSituation: Bonzarus is the first Beast Knight seen capable of speaking and showing intelligence. The others (sans Gilligan and Gardo, who aren't mechas) merely roar, though they are capable of understanding Heinel, Jangal, Katherine, Zuhl and [[spoiler: Belgan's]] orders.
* BreathWeapon: Like its predecessor, Baizanga, Bonzarus breathes fire.
* ItCanThink: For reasons never explained, Bonzarus expresses sentience that its fellow Beast Knights lack.
* RoboSpeak: Averted. Bonzarus speaks like a normal person.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gladiator]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/voltes_v_shrek.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000:Gladiator]]
An unfortunate Beast Knight who falls in battle by Gardo's sword in a contest over Heinel's favour.

----

* {{Acrofatic}}: Despite looking like a fat, oafish, orc, Gladiator, as its name implies, is capable of holding a fight. Unfortunately for it, Gardo is an extremely skilled BloodKnight.
* MeaningfulName: He is a warrior that fights for the entertainment of the nobles, and also suffers a brutal death at the hands of Gardo.
* SatelliteCharacter: Gladiator didn't even get to fight Voltes V as he was annihilated by Gardo, as the latter wanted to prove his strength to Prince Heinel.
* TheWorfEffect: Subjected to this by Gardo who demonstrates his superior swordsmanship skills which will prove trouble to Voltes V.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Gardo]]
[[quoteright:982:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gardo.png]]
[[caption-width-right:982: Gardo]]
The fourth Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----

* BloodKnight: He is a MasterSwordsman and takes pleasure in the idea of combat with Voltes V.
* HornedHumanoid: Invoked trope. Gardo is a giant alien from another planet, but Heinel bestowed horns on him after he pledged loyalty to the Boazanian Empire.
* MadeOfIron: As he's not a mech but flesh and blood, he easily withstands bombardments from Earth Defense Force ships and jets before cutting them down. Of course, this does not save him from Voltes V's Heaven Sword cutting him apart.
* PerpetualSmiler: Gardo has a dopey grin on his face which almost never falters, even when he's in battle.
* RedIsViolent: Subverted. Gardo's colour scheme is mostly orange, but he's a catacylsm of destruction wherever he goes.
* {{Samurai}}: He is a samurai [[RecycledInSpace in space]] who wields a katana in battle.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: He has long, flowing white hair, but sees the world as a playground for destruction.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Neegu]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/voltes_v_neegu.png]]
[[caption-width-right:982: Neegu]]
The fifth Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----

* KickTheDog: Neegu attacks the toy battleships of Little Jon and his fellow competition nearby the shore for kicks.
* SeaSerpents: Neegu makes its first appearance by emerging from underwater.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Neegu has bright red spikes on behind it's head that trail to the rest of its body.
* UnfortunateNames: It's better not to think too hard about the name.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Daiga]]

[[caption-width-right:1000:Daiga]]
The sixth Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

----

* BreathWeapon: In tune with its dragon motif, Daiga breathes fire.
* FingerFirearms: Similar to Voltes V's Chain Knuckles, Daiga shoots missiles from the tips of its fingers.
* PunnyName: Daiga's name is a pun on "dragon", the animal it is based on.
* ShoulderCannon: Daiga has these that fire missiles at targets.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Daineegu]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daineegu.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000: [[labelnote: Roller form]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daineegu_roller.png[[/labelnote]]]]

The fusion of Daiga and Neegu which is considered as the seventh Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

-----

* {{BFG}}: Daineegu has revolving shoulder cannons.
* CombiningMecha: of Daiga and Neegu.
* DeflectorShields: Daineegu can extend two shields coming from it’s thighs to protect its entire upper body.
* SpikesOfVillainy: Daineegu's roller form has wheels adorned with yellow spikes.
* TankTreadMecha: In it's roller form, Daineegu is this.
* WheelOFeet: To construct it's steamroller form, Neegu constricts itself around Daiga's arms and legs, and manages to sibjugate Voltes V with the wheels. However, Voltes V uses Chain Knuckles to quell the assault, and frees itself using the Ultra Electromagnetic Beam. Daineegu is then subjected to the Super Electromagnetic tops before the V-Cut finishes it off.

[[caption-width-right:1000: Bad Heil]]
The eighth Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

-----
* BreathWeapon: One of Bad Heil's attacks is breathing fire.
* RazorWings: Bad Heil's has nassive, scythe-like wings that it uses against the series' titular robot. Once they're sliced off, Bad Heil resorts to using it's arms as blades.
* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Is it '''Bad Heil''' or '''Bad Hail'''?
* SpikesOfVillainy: On its ears.
* WingedHumaoid: While he is based on a bat, his body type and torso are clearly human-inspired.

** In the Italian dub, Karakaras was known as '''Karakus'''.
* WingedHumanoid: Karakaras resembles a masked, armour-clad human and has massive violet wings.

[[caption-width-right:536: Galgo]]
The tenth Beast Knight of the Boazanian forces.

-----

* AchillesHeel: The armour on Galgo's sides is fragile, something Zaki attempts to exploit so that he can have Heinel killed. Unfortunately for him, Katherine overhears him saying this to Zuhl and informs Heinel, who then orders Zuhl to reinforce the weak points. Since Zuhl is being watched by Heinel's {{Mooks}}, he is forced to comply.
* AmazingTechnicolourWildlife: Galgo is a Bengal Tiger, but it is purple.
* FangsAreEvil: Being a tiger Beast Knight, this is a given.
* RuggedScar: Galgo has one across its right eye.

* DubNameChange:
