* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The ''Beast Hunters'' guidebook originally identified Vertebreak as "Scourge", and showed him with a remolded beast-mode head. Ultimately, this was dropped, and when Hasbro released said guide book on their facebook page, the name was replaced with Vertebreak's and the artwork reflected his status as a redeco of Lazerback.

* SequelFirst: A strange toy-based variation. Kup's mold was obviously intended to be Ironhide from the get go, but he only got released in the US as Kup. Kup's toy even hit shelves in America ''before'' Ironhide's toy did in the Japanese line. For more details, see Ironhide's entry below.

* NoExportForYou: His deluxe toy was only released as Ironhide in Japan as part of the "Arms Micron" toy-line, despite the fact that it was designed for him in the first place. At this point, the toy has only seen release in Western markets as Kup.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Ironhide was originally going to be a member of Team Prime instead of Bulkhead, but was replaced half-way through. At first [[LyingCreator it was claimed]] that he was dropped due to the character turning out more similar to Bulkhead than Ironhide, [[spoiler: but in reality, it was done in order to keep from confusing children who would have recently seen Ironhide perish in ''[[TransformersFilmSeries Dark of the Moon]]''.]]

* NoExportForYou: He's based on the Breakdown mold, which is currently exclusive to Japan.

* NoExportForYou: It goes two ways. Leo Prime is a Japanese exclusive redeco of Thundertron (see below), and he's the only Japanese use of the Thundertron mold, meaning Japanese fans get him instead of the character he was originally designed to be.

* ActingForTwo: Sepelak voices both Rumble and Frenzy in the script reading.

* FlipFlopOfGod: The western release makes him blue, while the Japanese release makes him red. And thus "FIRRIB"[=/=]"RIRFIB" is preserved for a new generation.

A Cybertronian from [[BeastWarsII another dimension]], Leo Prime sensed the awakening of Unicron in this reality and came to assist in stopping him. However, once he arrived, he discovered that Unicron had already been dealt with by the Autobots and Decepticons. Nevertheless, he has elected to remain in this dimension and observe the conflict, remaining on the sidelines and waiting to see if Unicron would ever reawaken.

* MythologyGag: His Arms Micron, L.P., is based on Moon, the PluckyComicRelief from ''BeastWarsII''.

* TookALevelInBadass: His bio states that after the events of ''BeastWarsNeo'', Leo Prime ascended to the rank of "Grand Convoy"; that is, the leader of ''all'' the Maximals.
* {{Transplant}}: Leo Prime isn't a {{Expy}} of the Lio Convoy from ''BeastWarsII'', he's the actual character, having transported himself to the ''Transfomers Prime'' universe from the Japanese ''WesternAnimation/BeastWars'' timeline.

"[=Experiment #SW13334=]", or "Riplaw", is so devoted to her fellow Predacons it's almost maternal. Backing up that protectiveness is a variety of poisons and her powerful stinging tail, as well as her incredible speed on land and air. She will follow orders without question, so long as they're delivered in a way that makes them seem as though they were in the best interests of the Predacons.

* ShoutOut: In addition to being based on the [=G1=] character, Hun-Gurrr also resembles a red version of Ghidorah from the ''{{Godzilla}}'' franchise.

As Transformers is a MerchandiseDriven series, Prime of course has a number of characters exclusive to toy-lines and secondary media.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: "''Lazer''back"? You'd think that a "laser"/"razorback" pun would come out differently.

In Hasbro's "Tales of the Beast Hunters" storyline, which serves as an AlternateContinuity to the events of season three, Ripclaw is brought on-line in order to help Predaking, only to be approached by Lazerback, who tries to tell her of Shockwave's "treacher" her of Predaking's supposed destruction. Later, she encountered Bulkhead, incapacitating him with her powerful mech-venom. Later, she was sited by Arcee, who gave her coordinates to the Decepticons in hopes that they would take out the rogue dragon-bot.

Twinstrike, otherwise known as "Experiment #[=SW81617=]", is the result of Shockwave accidentally replacing the gene for his tail with one for an extra head. Though Shockwave expected him to be twice as intelligent, all it did was make him twice as angry and halve his capacity for patience.

Though other Predacons look to him as a leader, Hun-Gurrr, or "Experiment #[=SW14596=], is only concerned with where he might find his next meal. Unlike Twinstrike, giving him two heads does seem to have increased his intelligence, but it also increased his fixation upon eating. As such, Shockwave has decided not to create anymore two-headed monsters.

A Predacon with huge potential, "Experiment #[=SW89562=], or "Windrazor", is notable for being airborne and aggressive. He enjoys combat and follows orders without question or imagination, which are all traits Megatron sees as valuable in a soldier. Windrazor's name is apt, as his wings are razor-sharp, and he is also skilled with ranged weaponry as well.

While "Experiment #[=SW22568=]", aka Rippersnapper, is one of the smartest of the Predacons. As such, his greatest weapon is his mouth. Preferring to fire insults rather than engage in dialogue, he is as quick to demoralize his enemies as he is to violently attack them. When he does fight, he applies more cunning than most, leading Shockwave to conclude that he should make future Predacons less intelligent.

If Rippersnapper is one of the most intelligent Predacons, "Experiment #[=SW74625=], otherwise known as "Blight", is by far one of the dumbest. Upon being released from his chamber, he nearly destroyed Shockwave's lab. Still, he's easily manipulated and too stupid to follow complex instructions... making him the perfect grunt for the Decepticon army.

Intelligent, thoughtful, and logical, Skystalker is a Predacon after his creator Shockwave's own spark. His weapons are freezing breath that can crystallize Autobot armor, and his razorsharp "Cryostrike Disk Launchers." His cold mind mirrors his icy powers, but at times Skystalker's logical demeanor breaks down and his emotions get the better of him.
