* {{Action Hero}}ine: Cassie is perfectly capable of defending herself and others when the time comes for it. She is a powerful witch who possesses many abilities and powers that allow her to combat or fight the enemy when it is necessary for her to do so. She has Black Magic which makes her tougher and a force to be reckoned with. Unlike her other fellow Circle members, Cassie is the one who is more likely to resort to physical violence of any kind and even kill in order to solve problems. Because of Cassie's tendency to resort to the use of violence than other more diplomatic ways, the other members of the Circle often have to stop her, primarily Adam and Diana, from going over the edge and possibly harming people.

* TheBeard: A variation. He and Dawn pretend to be in a relationship. However, neither of them is gay, they are instead working together to get their power back, and this excuse allows them to spend a lot of their spare time together to work toward this goal without anyone questioning it.

* CoolLoser: Jake may be considered cool, but he was a total outcast in regards to the Circle and also, to the town of Chance Harbour.

* PrettyBoy: Adam has slightly androgynous features with pretty blue eyes and rather long, full eyelashes. Sometimes, he is often mistaken for [[{{Guyliner}} wearing mascara or eyeliner]] or both, even though he really isn't; those are just Thomas Dekker's eyelashes doing all of the talking.

* ButNotTooBlack: Jessica Parker Kennedy is bi-racial (she is half Italian, half Black) and she is therefore, only slighter darker than her Caucasian/White witch counterparts. Jessica/Melissa also has predominantly Caucasoid facial features.

* PlayingGertrude: The actress (Ashley Crow) who portrays Jane is only 9 to 10 years apart from the parents.

* ExtraordinarilyEmpoweredGirl: Diana is a witch who possesses strong witch powers and abilities. However, just because she is powerful, strong and highly capable, Cassie is also susceptible to emotional vulnerability. Diana is a normal teenager with feelings and normal teenage problems; the fact that she is a powerful witch doesn't make everything easy for her either. In fact, it puts more pressure and responsibility onto her at such a young, fragile age.

* ExtraordinarilyEmpoweredGirl: Cassie happens to be a witch with ultra strong witch powers and abilities. Hell, she even possesses powerful BlackMagic within her bloodline. However, just because she is powerful and strong, Cassie is capable of severe vulnerability emotionally. She is still a normal teenager with normal teenage problems and the fact that she is a witch doesn't make everything easy for her either.

* EvilAllAlong: John was revealed to have bad intentions all along, despite his earlier attempts of trying to protect Cassie and Diana and the rest of the Circle.

* KilledOffForReal: Both Cassie and Diana ended up killing John when they both used their dark magic on the crystal skull to reverse the spell that would make every witch burn from the inside out. Since they reversed it, it burned John instead.

* PermaStubble: It seems that John has permanent facial hair and never seems to shave.

* BreakTheCutie: Cassie has been through much tragedy and pain in her young life. She had lost her mother in a tragic fire, her father died shortly after she was born, she discovers that she is a witch, she discovers that her real father is John Blackwell who is said to be a man with bad intentions, she discovers that she has Dark Magic ancestry, she had been manipulated into making Adam forget his love for her and then she lost her grandmother Jane, her only blood family aside from her half-sister (Diana) and their father (John). A lot of trials and tribulations surrounding her destiny as a witch seem to cause Cassie un-safety as well as everyone around her.

* ActionDad: John often finds himself amidst all of the action and always knows everything that is going on, especially regarding the Circle. He even lead the Circle on a mission a few times and has helped the Circle with spells and magic.

* BadPowersBadPeople: John practices and possesses BlackMagic and because of this, he is very powerful. However, John uses his powers for bad or ill intentions.

* LoveAtFirstSight: With Adam. When Cassie first laid eyes upon Ada, she said that she felt a strong connection and pull towards him. It was a connection that she could not describe. It was so intense for Cassie that she would lose control of her magic whenever she was in Adam's presence. Interestingly enough, Adam also felt a very strong connection with Cassie. This is because it was revealed that the Conants and the Blake's are "written in the stars" and their families have always been destined to be together.

* TrueCompanions: With Diana. Her and Diana immediately became fast friends. However, their friendship and relationship became increasingly complicated due to the subtle rivalry between her and Cassie because of [[LoveTriangle Diana's relationship with Adam and Cassie's feelings for Adam]]. Not only that, but Cassie [[spoiler: finds out that Diana is actually her biological half-sister due to the fact that she and Diana share the same father, John Blackwell]].

* LoveAtFirstSight: With Adam. Cassie had an instant and strong magnetic attraction and connection with Adam the very first time they met.

Before Jake joined the Circle, Jakes primary mission was to discover, expose, and eventually kill all of the members of the Circle as well as any other witches (an example of a witch that Jake had killed was Calvin).

She has been seen to be very idealistic, awkward and has even described herself as a loner who doesn't have that much in the way of a social life. She is seen to be shy at first and doesn't open up to others right away. However, Diana and Adam as well as the other members of the Circle help to being Cassie out of her shell and open up.
