[[foldercontrol]]

!The Bee Hive
The headquarters of the delivery service where all the "Bees" work. Located in Yuusari, the middle-class area of [=AmberGround=].

!!Current Letter Bees and their Dingoes

[[folder:Lag Seeing]]
->Voiced by: Creator/MiyukiSawashiro

The main protagonist. A very focused and unfailingly polite young boy. He is a former letter delivered by Gauche Suede to his aunt. His encounter with Gauche inspired him to become a Letter Bee. His Spirit Amber attack is called "Red Needle" and is able to visualize the memories held within whatever it is shot at. He can also somehow control the direction it goes. He has Spirit Amber implanted in his left eye socket.
----
* AdaptationalDumbass: In the manga, he figures out that [[spoiler:Gauche never actually got his heart back, and was merely Noir acting according to the memories he got from Lag's letter bullet]]. In the anime, Niche and Noir have to spell this out to him.
* AncestralWeapon: Sylvette gives Gauche's Nocturne #20 to Lag as Gauche wanted Lag to have his gun when Lag became a Letter Bee too.
* AttractiveBentGender: He makes an adorable girl. In the Veritably Abbey arc, he disguises himself as a young named Lala, and in Episode 42 of the anime, he pretends to be Sylvette.
* ChasteHero: He's only 12, so he never considers his intimate relationship with Niche as anything romantic. [[spoiler:Subverted later when he proclaims his LoveConfession to Sylvette, showing that he's not completely ObliviousToLove]].
* {{Determinator}}: He sees everything he starts to the end, no matter what.
* EnergyWeapon: Like everyone else, [[spoiler: but he can also shoot them [[LightEmUp from his hands.]]]]
* FireForgedFriends: With Gauche, as a result of their travels to Cambel. Part of it involves learning of each other's pasts, and part of it involves fighting together against a Gaichuu.
* {{Foil}}: To pre-amnesia Gauche. Gauche is rather stoic, while Lag is a crybaby. Lag's goal is to reunite with his MissingMom, while Gauche pursues a promotion to help take care of his sister, despite knowing that it will separate them for a while. As a Letter Bee, Gauche is strictly by-the-book, while Lag is more willing to bend the rules and go beyond the call of duty.
* GlassCannon: Like most Bees, but he seems to take the cake.
* GoalInLife: Three. To become Head Bee, to find his mother again (which ties into the first, since she's most likely in the capital) and to see Gauche again.
* GunsAkimbo: In the finale of the anime, he wields Nocturne and Gymnopiede together.
* HandBlast: Because his Spirit Amber is directly attached to his body, Lag can fire heart bullets from his hand without needing a gun.
%%* HandCannon
* TheHero: Lag is the protagonist of the series that follows his quest to deliver letters that carry people's "hearts" while fighting dangerous monsters on the way.
* HeroWorshipper: He greatly admires Gauche, the Letter Bee who inspired him become one himself.
* HeroicBSOD: Lag suffers a severe blow to his confidence after [[spoiler:Gauche's]] FaceHeelTurn
* HeroicRROD: He puts a lot into his '''heart''' bullets; using a lot weakens the user, and using too much will turn them into an EmptyShell. As a result, he gets sick often.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:In the end, he sacrifices himself to defeat Spiritus and bring back the natural sun]].
* IWillFindYou: His main goal from early in the series is finding his mother who was taken to Akatsuki when he was little. After hearing about his hero Gauche's mysterious disappearance, Lag makes finding him his other goal.
* LoopholeAbuse: He occasionally takes advantage of this.
** In Niche's introductory story, Connor tells him that since Niche's postage slip doesn't have all the information, the Letter Bees can't legally [[HumanMail ship her]]. Lag points out that since he isn't an official Bee just yet, the rules don't apply to him.
** At the end of Niche's introductory story, Lag delivers her to Love Someone Down, but forgets to get a stamp to confirm receipt of the delivery. He comes back to realize that Love Someone Down is a freak show, and Niche breaks out. With Niche's shipping information no longer legible and Lag having forgotten to get a stamp, he considers the delivery incomplete, and has Niche accompany him.
** Rei asks Lag to find out who's sending postcard letters to her, but the actual artist, Kimidori, forces Lag to swear that he won't tell Rei. Lag agrees, only to hear Colbasso try to falsely claim credit for what Rei did. Lag then says that he promised not to tell Rei, but not to shoot a Shindan, so he fires Akabari at the postcard to show Rei the truth.
* MagicalEye: He has red spirit amber implanted in his left eye, which gives him stronger heart capacity, firepower and also allows him to fire a heart bullet from his own body, such as from his palm.
* MeaningfulName: "Lagrima" means '''tears.'''
* {{Nephewism}}: After his mother was taken away, he lived five years with his aunt Sabrina. Lag lovingly calls Sabrina his second mother.
* NiceGuy: He's a very kind and caring boy.
* PeekABangs: His bangs cover the Spirit Amber in his left eye socket.
* PleasePutSomeClothesOn: Every time Niche walks around naked, Lag would frantically run after her, trying to get her wear something.
* ProneToTears: He's called a crybaby for how easily he starts crying when he's emotional.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His eyes are naturally red and the Spirit Amber in his left socket is also red. Subverted because he's very benevolent.
* SaveTheVillain: On numerous occasions, Lag has chosen protect his enemies, often risking harm in the process.
** At the end of the Blue Notes Blues arc, he stood up to protect Sarah from the mob.
** He grabs hold of [[spoiler:"Roda's"]] hand to try to pull her up in the battle near Veritably Abbey.
** In Episode 48 of the anime, he and Niche shield [[spoiler:Garrard and Valentine]] from [[spoiler:Noir]] when the latter shows up to interrogate [[spoiler:the former pair]] at gunpoint.
* SeriesGoal: His goal is to reunite with his MissingMom, as well as Gauche Suede.

She is Lag's personal bodyguard, [=AKA=] Dingo. Niche was a letter Lag encountered on his way to the Bee-Hive and he delivered to her destination, a side-show circus called [[GratuitousEnglish Love Someone Down]]. She is actually the "Child of Maka" (lit. the Child of Greatness) and as a result, has golden, 'sword-like' hair, blue eyes and arms resembling that of a bear.
----
* TenMinuteRetirement: She tries to quit being Lag's dingo after drinking poisoned water and subsequenly losing to [[spoiler: Roda]]. She gets better.
* ACupAngst: She normally does not dwell on it, but she will look upon her own chest unfavorably when she's comparing herself to other girls, especially if she perceives a girl as a "threat" (in the sense of her "stealing" Lag away from her). [[spoiler:Her excitement of being temporarily aged up is even soured when she realizes she lacks an ample bosom and body (in comparison to Sylvette and her sister).]]
* BadassAdorable: She's small, cute as a button, really strong, and her hair can become sharp like a blade. She's able to put up a good fight against Gaichuu, but since she can't fire Shindans, is unable to defeat them herself.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: She decides to become Lag's Dingo because he's the first human who has treated her so nicely.
* BodyguardCrush: Very attached to Lag and takes her job to protect him very seriously.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Since Lag is her world, she's generally not pleased when she's not the center of his. She also dislikes being assigned as Aria's dingo, since she thinks of herself as Lag's dingo first and foremost.
* ClothingDamage: Since Lag forbids her from hurting people, she tends to destroy people's clothes when she attacks with her PrehensileHair.

* LittleMissBadass: Despite her childlike looks, she's the primary fighter in Lag's team and one of the best dingoes in the series.

* TookALevelInBadass: She can now make some pretty intricate things with her hair, after training with [[spoiler:her sister]].

* UnskilledButStrong: Described as such by [[spoiler:the so-called "Roda"]], who notices that Niche has powerful abilities, but doesn't use them anywhere near their full potential.
* WildChild: Her personality is close to feral and she shows very animal-like traits like licking wounds and sniffing for danger.
* TheWorfEffect: Niche is stronger than most ordinary humans and can generally hold her own against Gaichuu (although a Shindan is necessary to actually destroy the Gaichuu). As such, people are shocked whenever an opponent is able to get the upper hand against her, such as [[spoiler:"Roda," Niche's sister and Hazel Valentine]].

----
* TheAce: He has the third best record for the Letter Bee exam, after Lag and Gauche, is a highly respected express delivery Bee, and is one of the few Letter Bees besides Lag who hails from Yodaka. All this shows that he's one of the more respected Letter Bees in the series.
* AloofBigBrother: Note that in this case, 'aloof' does not mean 'bad'. He really does love and care for his adoptive sister, he's just sort of understated about it. As in 'to the point that she completely despised him until discovering just how ''much'' he's done to take care of her over the years'.

Her Dingo is Bolt, a large dog which is now old and retired.

* MeaningfulName: His name means "Black" in French, likely a reference to his black clothes and Spirit Amber.
* RevolversAreJustBetter: He wields a revolver-type Shindan. It's unclear whether the cylinder is necessary, since the gun doesn't fire actual bullets.

* WhiteHairBlackHeart: She has white hair and works for the main antagonist organization.
