They were said to have bigger parts in Season 3, but this ultimately amounted to them appearing only once in "Sophomore Slump" with their appearance essentially serving as their proper sendoff. Still, it was more attention than what they'd received in the season prior.

However, they do take steps to help rescue Marco when they learn that he's been kidnapped in "Storm the Castle", and after learning about him starting a princess rebellion and making enemies who threaten his and Star's lives, they decide to be more actively involved. In Season 3, Angie starts to address Marco's issue with not having Star around, and shows real concern that the way Marco is conducting himself after returning from Mewni isn't healthy.
