* AdaptationPersonalityChange: PlayedWith. In the ''Adventure'' games and ''Heroes'' Knuckles wasn't as gruff and hot-headed as he is presented in ''X'', but he is presented as one in ''Sonic Battle''and later games gave him this characterization later on.

* BerserkButton: Do NOT fool her. Bokkun learned this the hard way.

At the end of Season 2, when Chris runs off with Sonic for fear of being alone again, Chuck calls Lindsey and Nelson out on their neglectful behavior of raising Chris, and the two begin taking the first real steps to correct this Trope.

He even once lectured Chris about that he needs to stop acting selfish, and it turns out his lecture helped Chris through JerkassRealization.

* AmbiguouslyHuman: On top of coming from another world and having cartoonish proportions Eggman is also freakishly big compared to normal humans. He had to kneel down quite a bit to shake the president's hand, which also allowed the viewer to see that ''Eggman's fists are bigger than a normal human's head.''

Dr. Eggman's robotic assistants. Docoe is the tall gold one, and Bocoe is the short silver one. Though they originally start out as background characters, they eventually get more direct screentime, lines, and developed personalities. Unlike many incarnations of Eggman's minions, these two don't usually confront Sonic and Co. directly, but rather personally assist Dr. Eggman, usually in whatever base / flying fortress he's currently operating.

* BewareTheSillyOnes: Unlike Dr. Eggman's lackies in previous animated shows, who were typically a BumblingHenchmenDuo, Docoe and Bocoe are generally competent and able to follow out their creator's orders, and show more insight than the Doctor quite a few times. For instance, they are put in charge of defending Eggman's island base when G.U.N. decides to attack it, and put up quite a fight against the navy and the air force. They are only sent packing when Dr. Eggman confronts and fails to stop a special strike force.

* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: Essentially how Docoe and Bocoe view Bokkun. For his part, Bokkun has ratted out Docoe and Bocoe to Dr. Eggman several times when they mention something unflattering towards him.

* AdaptationalVillainy: While following the games' counterpart's actions far more loyally, the anime conveys Shadow as far more unfettered and cold blooded about it.

* AdaptationalDumbass: While Knuckles was always SuperGullible in the games, he still eventually caught on to Eggman's tricks, and by the time of the ''Riders'' and ''Rivals'' games, refused to believe anything he said or be tricked anymore. Here, Knuckles [[AesopAmnesia never learns]], no matter how many times it happens, that Eggman is ''not'' to be trusted in the slightest.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: In the games, Knuckles wasn't as gruff and hot-headed as he was here during that time, though the games gave him this characterization later on.

* CharacterExaggeration: His [[SuperGullible Super Gullibility]] is taken UpToEleven here. While Knuckles was often duped by Eggman in the games, he eventually [[DumbassNoMore grew wise to Eggman's tricks]]. X!Knuckles... [[AdaptationalDumbass never does]].

* MadeOfIron / TheStoic: He is able to win a fight by himself after repetitively getting stomped by a giant alien with metallic body armor and being hit by thunder. He kept getting up while fighting against Yellow Zelkova in episode 72, no matter how much he had to suffer.

* PerpetualFrowner: Most of the time anyway, mostly due his to stoic nature. However, he's genuinely able to crack a smile, when a day is bright, and peaceful.

* AdaptationalJerkass: Amy is far more temperamental, bratty, and obnoxious than she in the games. Especially in later seasons.

* AdaptationalWimp: In ''VideoGame/SonicAdvance2'', Cream and Cheese were perfectly capable of racing through the same levels Sonic and co could, and actually had the easiest time defeating Eggman's machines thanks to Cheese's invincibility. Here, they're much less capable and have to be saved several times by Sonic and other characters, and are generally {{Non Action Guy}}s.

* DeathByAdaptation: On account of there not being a ''Sonic Advance 3'' arc, [[spoiler:He stays dead in this continuity.]]

* [[FlatCharacter Flat Characters]]: They don't really have much character outside of the Token kid tropes. Though, Helen slightly has more regarding her parents and her status as a handicapped kid, but not much to make her stand out among the human characters since she's similar to Chris.

The BigBad of Season 2, Dark Oak leads the Metarex to obtain the universe's planet eggs, hidden within the cores of every planet in existence. When he goes about destroying the Sunshine Balls, even Sonic's pals think he's gone bad until he point-blank tells them as such; when Knuckles demands to know [[PoorCommunicationKills why he didn't tell them this]] before he started smashing the towers, Sonic simply says, "[[ThoughtYouKnewAlready I thought it was obvious.]]"

* OpportunisticBastard: His first reaction upon arriving on Earth is to simply decide to conquer it if he can't conquer Sonic's world. Near the end of Season 1, after tricking Knuckles into giving him the rest of the Chaos Emeralds, he flat-out admits that he doesn't care what planet he establishes the Eggman Empire on.

* ItsAllAboutMe: Though it lessens after the pre-Season 3 TimeSkip, this is one of his most infamous traits. The most well known example was at the end of the second season, where he stopped Sonic from returning home just because he didn't want to see his friend go, even though doing put both their worlds in danger.
* JerkassBall: He typically tends to just get depressed whenever the prospect of Sonic going back to his world pops up, but he immediately throws this when it happens for real.

* NiceGuy: Chris is usually this whenever his ItsAllAboutMe and LonelyRichKid statuses are not the episode's conflict. Even more so in the English dub where his self-centered and immature moments are downplayed to make his SpoiledSweet traits stand out more.
