* OedipusComplex: Tsuna's sort-of-love-interest Kyoko bears an incredible resemblance to his mom in both appearance and personality. Iemitsu even seems to lampshade it.

* TeensAreShort: He's 5'2, making him ''one'' of the shortest male characters in the series, only being taller than children such as Lambo and the Arcobaleno, and only seems to be barely taller than Kyoko and Haru. This is especially noticeable when compared to Gokudera and Yamamoto, who practically tower over him despite being the same age as him. Justified as he's only fourteen and has not finished growing.

* SenpaiKohai: To the other guardians. Tsuna and Yamamoto certainly respect him, calling him "Onii-san" and "Senpai" respectively. Gokudera does not, which often leads to fights between them.

* BadassCrew: They are not related in any way, but as they belong in a mafia family, you can consider them to be this and a BadassFamily. They are the ones who are able to save the future after all.

** Gokudera was an illegitimate child born from an affair his father had. Since the mafia denies the birth of illegitimate children, he was denied the right to see his own mother at an early age and could only see her a few times a year during piano lessons (where she could not reveal her identity as his mother) until his mother eventually died in a car accident, causing him to run away from home to join the mafia, though he was rejected by other families for his association with music and for being an oriental half-breed (half Japanese and half Italian). In the early parts of the series, it was a HilariouslyAbusiveChildhood due to his older sister constantly feeding him poison before piano recitals to the point of getting a stomach ache everytime he sees her.

** Chrome lived a sheltered life and experienced ParentalNeglect from both her mother and step-father, after attempting to rescue a cat, she gets involved in a fatal car accident that costs her right eye and many of her internal organs. While in the intensive care unit, she overhears her mother outright stating that no one wants her alive and that she would ''never'' consider donating any organs to her daughter.
* {{Determinator}}: All of them has this, which is to be expected since the Dying Will Flame runs on a person's resolve.

* FutureBadass: Every single one of them grows up to be one.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: Everyone is this to [[ButtMonkey Tsuna]] when he is not in his Dying Will mode.

* GenerationXerox: The Tenth Generation resembles the First Generation of the Vongola to a nigh-impossible degree. Each member of the Tenth Generation has personalities and physical appearances corresponding to their respective predecessor that makes them almost ''identical'' -- [[spoiler:to the point that they even use the same weapons/fighting styles]].
* GoroawaseNumber: Each of their names either has a kanji or anything representing a number.

* NonUniformUniform: Most of the Vongola guardians wear customized school uniforms that are usually different compared to what the regular students are seen wearing.

** Chrome wears the Kokuyo Middle School uniform; with some alterations such as exposing her midriff and wearing boots with a skull design on them. However, upon entering Namimori Junior High, she begins to start wearing the standard girls uniform.

* PlayingWithFire: Thanks to the Dying Will flames
* {{Protectorate}}: The main duty of the guardians is to protect the Tenth Vongola boss from any harm, but this varies to the person. Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Ryohei take this job seriously, Lambo is too young to understand and is protected by others as well. Hibari and Mukuro are [[AloofAlly aloof]] and [[WildCard sketchy]] that only help when the family is in deep danger, and Chrome is pretty neutral. Tsuna, on the other hand, tries his best to protect them as well, which is always the reason why he fights.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The task of returning the Vongola Family back to its former glory falls in the hands of an ''overly'' devoted ForeignExchangeStudent, a {{Cloudcuckoolander}} who loves baseball and coincidentally is a skilled swordsman, a boxing club leader with NoIndoorVoice, a BrattyHalfPint that cries over everything, a {{Jerkass}} delinquent who leads an AbsurdlyPowerfulStudentCouncil, a wanted criminal capable of pulling GrandTheftMe, and an InnocentFlowerGirl who ''happens'' to admire said criminal. All of which is lead by the biggest loser in school that fails at everything he attempts and just so happens to show his true strength when his life depends on it.
* {{Reincarnation}}: [[spoiler:Daemon Spade greatly implies that ''this'' is the true reason why the Tenth Generation is almost a modern-day carbon copy of the First Generation. * TrueCompanions: In the more literal sense, though some are less willing to admit it than others.

** In the very first chapter. This lead to DeathEqualsRedemption. Literally. Reborn [[FirstEpisodeResurrection killed him]], invoking [[UnstoppableRage Dying Will]]... [[CoolAndUnusualPunishment Pulling Mochida's hair out]]...
** There's also the time where Shitt. P. had a photo of him accidentally peeking on Kyoko's skirt and having a nosebleed.
* AChildShallLeadThem: Reborn, and the Vongola family by extension, want him to become the boss as soon as possible, though he's reluctant about the whole ordeal.

* AdaptationalWimp: Thanks to the anime stretching out episodes, some scenes of Tsuna freaking out and complaining even more than what he is actually doing in the manga are added. A good example is the time where he has to put on the contacts made by Spanner. While in the manga he puts them on immediately and only complains about the blurriness, the anime has him freaking out over the idea of putting them on over a span of ''three'' episodes.

* AlwaysSaveTheGirl: Usually rescues Kyoko and Haru whenever they get caught up in Reborn's schemes, to the cost of his own safety. And he does the same to Yuni, as he tries his best to defend her from Byakuran.
* AnIcePerson: His Zero Point Breakthrough: First Edition, which is primarily used for sealing Dying Will Flames and those who use them.

* AnimeHair: It's been like that ''since birth'', [[AllInTheManual The official wiki states]] no conditioner can bring it down.
** ShonenHair: Although it looks a lot softer than the normal example. A couple of official artworks show it blowing in the wind.

* BenevolentBoss: Despite his reluctance, his unbiased compassion to others has earned the friendships of several who were once his enemies.

* BerserkerTears: In the Future arc, sheds some after Yuna and Gamma [[HeroicSacrifice sacrifice themselves]] to revive the Arcobaleno towards Byakuran.

* BigBrotherWorship: Certainly looks up to Dino and admires him for his skills, even going to him for advice. And as well to Ryohei, for his tenancy and the fact that he is Kyoko's big brother.

** Is at an all time low in the Future Arc where Tsuna just [[TraumaCongaLine can't seem to catch a break]], first Reborn goes missing for several days without any signs of returning, then Tsuna's dropped into an apocalyptic future without warning only to find that he's permanently trapped in this timeline and can only return home upon defeating Byakuran, all of his friends (including the ones that cannot fight) are forced into this timeline as well, and the status of many of his loved ones in this timeline is completely unknown (with the implications that some of them are either missing or dead). It gets to the point that Tsuna even cries in his bed praying for the safety of everyone and begins to start lashing out on Haru and Lambo when under pressure.
** The Inheritance Ceremony Arc is arguably [[DarkestHour Tsuna's darkest hour]]. Tsuna befriends Enma and the Simon Famiglia over the course of a few days after bonding over their similarities, only to find out they were deceiving them the whole time and are actually a vengeant rival family that wants to destroy the family because of what happened years ago between Giotto and Cozart. They proceed to slowly take down the family, near-fatally wound Yamamoto to the point of hospitalization, kidnapping Chrome, and indirectly causing Ryohei to be sent to Vindice Prison. Things get even worse after learning that his father was apparently the one responsible for killing Enma's family (fortunately, this was a lie) and that the Simon Famiglia were under the control of Daemon Spade.

** He attempts to give one to Iemitsu during the Representative Battle about him never been around and not knowing anything about him, though this one backfires and is never addressed again.

--> '''Tsuna''': You suddenly show up saying that you're a tutor and want to make me into a mafia boss! And then it's all just been a mess! You used your spartan training on me, made me confess my love to the girl I like against my will, dragged me out even though I didn't want to, and forced me to have fun or fight with people!! You made a disaster of my school life!! ...But... If I look back, even as close as yesterday... in the end I had fun... I really had lots of fun.
** Delivers one to Mukuro for selfishly ignoring Chrome after kicking her out of the Kokuyo Gang and refusing to give her organs, though Mukuro justifies this by saying that he ''has'' been trying to give Chrome illusion organs but she intentionally has been rejecting them.

* TheChewToy: Suffers quite a lot of abuse in the story, mostly thanks to [[{{Jerkass}} Reborn.]]

* CrazyJealousGuy: In the Daily Life Arc, where Tsuna went frequently get jealous of any guys that would attempt to flirt with Kyoko.

* DeadpanSnarker: It's nowhere near as evident compared to some of his other allies, but Tsuna does have his occasional moments, usually during Reborn's antics.

* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Possibly. Gokudera, Yamamoto's, Dino's, Enma's, and Mukuro's [[HoYay actions]] around him certainly says much. Especially Gokudera, who pretty much shouts his UndyingLoyalty for him all the time.
* ExpectingSomeoneTaller: He's supposed to be the 10th Generation Vongola Boss (against his will, of course), but he's only 14 and is very scrawny and rather [[ButtMonkey pathetic looking.]] A lot of people say variations of this phrase and find it generally hard to believe. Interestingly enough, this phrase isn't explicitly said by Spanner, but implied when he gets Tsuna some prisoner clothes, and remarks in surprise and exasperation that even size small is too big for him.

* FlashStep: Ever since he got the X-Gloves, he is capable of moving at high speeds by using his flames as propulsion.

* FutureBadass: [[spoiler:As a something between GuileHero and MagnificentBastard as he is the one who planned the present guardians to fight in the future.]]

* GravityMaster: [[spoiler:Briefly when his and Enma"s Rings combined to create the Oath Flame so he could defeat Daemon Spade.]]

* HeroicSelfDeprecation: Did this ''a lot'' in the beginning, and still does sometimes. It's also something that pisses Reborn off immensely, and is shown as [[CharacterDevelopment something he'll have to get over eventually]]. So when Tsuna demonstrates even a tiny bit of self-confidence, Reborn regards it as a vast improvement.
* HorribleJudgeOfCharacter: Initially, but after the Kokuyo arc he's gotten better at this thanks to his Hyper Intuition. Unfortunately, he keeps his on giving everyone he meets a chance, which they will be more than happy to take advantage of.

* HyperAwareness: It's called Hyper Intuition in his case which is one of the things that links Tsuna to the first head of the Vongola family. This allows him to sense if a person is lying and helps him dodge enemy fire.

* LovingAShadow: He claims to love Kyoko for the most surface level reasons such as her appearance and even daydreams about being married to her despite them rarely interacting.

* PowerFist: The X-Gloves worn by Tsuna (and their predecessor, the I-Gloves worn by Vongola I.) lights on fire, allows flight, absorption of other flames, and the ability to FREEZE.

* RequiredSecondaryPower: His [[KamehameHadoken X-Burner]] is powerful, but it requires Tsuna to perfectly control the Dying Will Flame output of both his hands or else he gets blasted away by the recoil. At first he tries to only fire off the X-Burner on the ground to mitigate this, and only tries firing in the air after he's backed into a corner (and even then he's still blasted by the recoil). He spends most of the Merone Base raid working with Spanner to develop contact lenses that allow him to measure his flame output, which allow him to perfectly fire the technique regardless of whether he's on the ground or in the air. [[spoiler: Using the Oath Flame allows him to use the Earth Flame's GravityMaster to similarily cancel out the recoil.]]
* SaveTheVillain: Even when his adversaries do their damnest to make it hell for Tsuna, he will try to get through to them beforehand.

* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: Is pretty much the sensitive guy to Gokudera, Yamamoto, Ryohei, Hibari, and Mukuro's manly man. Interestingly enough, Tsuna is considered the manly man to Enma Kozato, who is ''somehow'' more timid and clumsy than him.
* ShirtlessCaptives: When he's captured by[[spoiler: Spanner]], he wakes up handcuffed to a bed wearing nothing but his boxers.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: He takes after his mother a lot more than his father in terms of appearance, he also bears quite a bit of resemblance with Primo despite being generations apart.

* SupernaturalGoldEyes: His Hyper Dying Will Mode turns his eyes golden orange in contrast to his brown eyes.

* ThisLoserIsYou: 'No Good' Tsuna, at least at the very beginning. He slightly grows out of it. Slightly cause he is still the 'No-Good' kid from before, but with friends and allies that will help him in times of need.
* ThouShallNotKill: [[spoiler: Played straight till he actually killed Byakuran, who had become pretty inhuman by that point. And then double subverted when Byakuran is revealed to still be alive.]]

** Moments like this are spread out during the [[GagSeries Daily Life arc]] of all places, such as Tsuna deciding to continue competing in the volleyball tournament upon learning that other students were injured as well, attempting to protect Kyoko from getting attacked by a lion, and saving Haru and Lambo from falling off a bridge. Which was alll done [[BadassNormal without the need of Dying Will bullets]].
** Confidently affirming his desire to defeat Mukuro Rokudo and receiving the X-Gloves and the Criticism Shot which allows him to activate Hyper Dying Will Mode.

* TrueCompanions: For the most part this applies to a good portion of Tsuna's mafia family (save for Hibari and Mukuro who are [[TeethClenchedTeamwork evil teammates]] at best and want nothing to do with Tsuna outside of their own agenda). Especially with [[DevotedToYou Gokudera]], [[TheLancer Yamamoto]], and [[BigBrotherMentor Ryohei]] who can be seen as his best friends and most reliable guardians.

The worlds strongest hitman, a [[EnfanteTerrible gun-toting baby]] that serves for the Vongola Famiglia. As the most trusted ally of the Vongola Ninth, he was personally requested to travel to Japan in order to serve as the home tutor for Tsuna and train him to become the next generation of the Vongola, however his teaching methods prove to be [[CruelAndUnusualDeath quite unorthodox]] and tend to result in harm at the expense of [[ButtMonkey Tsuna]].

* AchillesInHisTent: Can't able to get out of the base thanks to the Non-Trinisette policy on the atmosphere during the Future Arc.

* BadassBystander: Will just stand and give lots of exposition whenever there is a fight happening, since he is usually forbidden to fight due to circumstances (Ninth's orders, non-trinisette policy) As it is, if he did join a fight, it would have ended quickly.
* BadassInANiceSuit: Oh yes. Reborn's default outfit is a snazzy suit and he is said to be the strongest of the Arcobaleno. [[spoiler:His adult form is also an example.]]

** Anything related to his Arcobaleno curse seem to provoke him, [[OOCIsSeriousBusiness even Tsuna admits that he was surprised]] to see Reborn visibly angry after seeing that Bermuda possessed a Clear Pacifier.

* CharacterTics: Most noticeable in the anime, he has a habit of playing with his side-burns. Luce takes notice and even points out that it’s his most charming trait as well.

* DevilInPlainSight: Tsuna and Dino are the only ones able to tell how much of a MagnificentBastard he actually is.

* TheGunslinger: From what little of his fighting was shown he seems to be both Type B (The Vaporizer) and C (The Woo). [[GunFu But mostly C.]]

* [[SeniorSleepCycle Infant Sleep Cycle]]: He's often prone to falling at inconvenient times. But it's kinda implied that he uses sleep as a way to evade questions or force whoever he is tutoring to think or fight for themselves.

* IsThatWhatHeToldYou: Lots of miscommunications happen when reborn will explain things to other characters, to Tsuna's exasperation.

* MagicBullets: In Dying Will and Rebuke variety!
* ManipulativeBastard: Oh so much that you can chalk up anything happening with Tsuna and co as training by him.

* MayDecemberRomance: With Bianchi. And it works ''both ways!''
* MeaningfulName[[=/=]]MeaningfulRename: In his monologues, he was unable to accept his body when he got his curse so he took a long exile in order to accept it. In doing so, he asked Shamal to erase every existence of him. In a sense, this makes him ''"Reborn"'' in a new life.

* ParentalSubstitute: To Tsuna. Reborn, spartan training and sadistic tendencies aside, did more to raise Tsuna over the course of the series (which, in-universe, is at most a ''year'') than Iemitsu ever did over the course of Tsuna's ''entire life''. Additionally, in the final chapter Reborn actually allows Tsuna to chose whether or not he wants to become a mafia boss, unlike his father who forces the responsibility onto him simply because of his heritage. Fanon frequently emphasizes this, canon lampshades it, and even the series' [[http://reborn.wikia.com/wiki/Reborn wiki]] points it out.

* SeriesMascot: Easily one of the most recognizable characters in the franchise and is the character who regularly appears the most in promotional material, he seems to share this role alongside [[BrattyHalfPint Lambo]], [[InnocentFlowerGirl I-Pin]], and the other Arcobaleno's.

* VagueAge: Outside of being two in Arcobaleno years, his ''actual'' age has never been confirmed. He seems to have been cursed somewhere around his twenties or thirites and has lived long enough to make a name for himself as a renowned hitman and celebrity in the mafia world. The only real indication of his age is that he was cursed around the same time as Luche, who passed away two generations prior to the start of the series.

* WouldHurtAChild: He's a grown man trapped inside of a baby's body and expresses absolutely no qualms with harming Tsuna (who is only fourteen) and Lambo, who is five. Whether it be [[BlackComedy shooting him in the head with a gun, strangling him until his mouth foams, or even once torching him with a flamethrower]], he won't apologize for it.
** Eventually he gets better during the Inheritance Ceremony Arc, where Reborn blames himself for involving Lambo in the mafia and states that he was wrong for treating Lambo the same as the other guardians during the battle against Rauji Ooyama.

* AmbiguouslyBi: He has considerable HoYay towards Tsuna (though it's not clear if its really love or just UndyingLoyalty). He also blushed and had a nosebleed upon seeing Lal Mirch (a beautiful woman) naked and gets a couple of ship teases with Shitt. P.

* ArmCannon: Uses one as part of Systema C.A.I. He can use [[AbnormalAmmo dynamites]] as bullets, which he can convert the explosion into several attacks.

** BigBrotherInstinct: Shows this towards Lambo on occasion, especially in the Varia Arc. Crosses with HypocriticalHeartwarming.

* CharacterDevelopment: Starts from distrusting everyone and only trusting himself thanks to his past, he begins to open up to other people thanks to his interactions with them. Shown best in the Inheritance Arc, where he was able to entrust Tsuna's life to the [[spoiler: Shimon Family while thinking of ways to defend him.]] He also goes from [[MartyrWithoutACause someone willing to throw his life away for his boss]] to someone who will fight to save everyone, including himself.
** In the beginning his devotion to Tsuna was comedically obsequious and mostly disingenuous due to being in debt to Tsuna for saving his life. He would still behave very stern and even Tsuna admitted that he was scary from time to time. After Chapter 61, Gokudera remains devoted to Tsuna and begins to value him as a friend as well, which is definitely shown after he gives up the Storm Ring during his fight against Belphegor in order to live to fight another day and watch the fireworks again.
** He starts to value the [[TookALevelInKindness concept of family]] more throughout the series. He outright hates Yamamoto in the beginning and sees him as an annoyance because of their friendly rivalry of being Tsuna's right-hand man, but softens up to him more after Yamamoto calls him out for pushing everyone away during the Future Arc, even more after he expresses anger at Yamamoto being injured by Kaoru and states that he would never forgive him.
* CharacterExaggeration: While Gokudera is [[UndyingLoyalty very loyal]] to Tsuna in both versions, the anime tends to play up his devotion even more, even once including a scene where he [[SproutingEars sprouts a dog tail and ears]] when he thinks he sees Tsuna's "aura".

* {{Determinator}}: Deconstructed. Gokudera will do anything to assure Tsuna's victory up to and including giving up his own life, and that is the problem. Tsuna calls him out on it.

* FacePalm: When he realized that he was once again in that familiar circle, yelling, "VONGOLA... FIGHT!!!"

* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: He changes between foolish and responsible to his half-sister Bianchi depending if the situation is comedic or not. But in the future, he is the foolish one to Bianchi's responsible one, thanks to his hotheadedness and stubbornness.

* HatesBeingTouched: In direct conflict with Yamamoto's NoSenseOfPersonalSpace.

* HotBlooded: Whenever a situation happens, the first thing he will do is to threaten the offender with dynamites. Combine this with his LeeroyJenkins trait, he creates more problems for Tsuna which G points out to him in his test.
* ItsAllMyFault: Has a habit of blaming himself whenever Tsuna is in trouble or hurt. This is sometimes PlayedForLaughs.

* TheAce: Star athlete, swordsman prodigy, natural-born assassin, incredibly NiceGuy, and generally just great enough at everything he does that even the likes of [[BloodKnight Squalo]] and [[SmugSuper Hibari]] acknowledge his talent. * SenpaiKohai: To the other guardians. Tsuna and Yamamoto certainly respect him, calling him "Oni-san" and "Senpai" respectively. Gokudera does not, which often leads to fights between them.

* SuperDrowningSkills: He has a very... ''unique'' swimming style.
* TalkToTheFist: He is a boxer, and his punches are nothing to laugh at seeing that he was able to demolish the gym wall with his bare hands.

* AcquiredSituationalNarcissism: If he defeats someone by blind luck, expect him to gloat out loud that ''Lambo-sama'' is the best hitman of them all.
* AnimalMotifs: The bull, rather obviously. His Box Weapon is Gyudon, a large, lightning-elemental bull.

He ''will'' be InLoveWithYourCarnage, so don't fight anywhere near him and his [[InsaneEqualsViolent Automatically Violent]] self. Violent to anything and everything other than his [[LoyalAnimalCompanion Cute Critters]], whom he won't attack even if they [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction pierce his hand]]. Remember, don't piss him off or he ''will'' "[[CatchPhrase bite you to death]]."

* AntiHero: Hibari is definitely not a traditional good guy. He is a very ruthless {{Blood Knight}} and a {{jerkass}} [[AloofAlly loner]] who just happens to be on the side of good.
* AxeCrazy: He's definitely one of the most AxeCrazy characters in the series. Yes, even more than pretty much all of the {{Big Bad}}s so far.

* CurbStompBattle: Gola Mosca barely saw what hit him. [[spoiler:But then again, it was intentional]].

* DevilInPlainSight: Though it's more that everyone is too terrified to take notice.

* FutureBadass: If that's even possible.

* InsaneTrollLogic: After being explained of how Dying Will Flames work by Kusakabe, he concludes that he can make Dying Will flames by getting pissed off. It worked, much to the latter's surprise.

** HiddenHeartOfGold: It happens, and not just to his LoyalAnimalCompanion trio. Possibly the most direct one is that Hibari, had absolutely no reason to save Kyoko, Haru, I-Pin, and Lambo from one of Skull's stray missiles. One would think he was paying Ryohei back for saving Nami Middle, but Hibari says otherwise (stating that he'd pay Ryohei back by taking Alaude's test). Notable because Hibari himself says multiple times he doesn't actively ''try'' to save anyone, and the missile was the opposite direction of the fight, so he couldn't even pass it off as indirect action like he usually does.

* NonchalantDodge: When Bel was throwing knives at him.

* OneManArmy: Took on multiple teams of Millefiore goons that are attacking the base. He crushes them all in an instant, his future version at least[[spoiler: His current version was able to fight against Adelheid's 500 ice clones, each as strong as her.]]

** His future self, who gives Chrome to needed courage to activate her Vongola Ring.

** During his battle with Adelheid, he says that Tsuna will "bite the sky, one day". Meaning that he knows that Tsuna will grow up to become very powerful.[[spoiler: Considering that Future Tsuna is one of the only people that Future Hibari respects due to ''losing'' to him, this means he's looking forward to the day when Tsuna is that strong.]]

* PurpleIsPowerful: He is the strongest 10th generation Vongola guardian and is often associated with this color due to his cloud flames.
* RedArmbandOfLeadership: Wherever he goes. It practically defines him. Touching it is one of his BerserkButton.

* SinkOrSwimMentor: His [[spoiler:Ten Years into the Future Self is this for Tsuna]].

* TheStoic: Nothing ever flinches this guy, whether he is biting someone to death or is fighting an enemy. And woe to the person who manages to piss him off.

* WildCard: It's part of being the Cloud Guardian.
* TheWorfEffect: With his first fight with Mukuro. He is still under the effect Shamal's Trident Mosquito and Mukuro took advantage of this, creating illusions of cherry blossom flowers that crippled him and rendered him unable to fight.

The Tenth Generation Mist Guardian. He's the trident-wielding guy with a [[DarkAndTroubledPast Dark Past]] that you don't want to know about. In some completely lucky way, Mukuro has been reborn in all stages of hell, and remembers all of it. Due to that, he's gained MagicalEye powers and has been dead set on [[GrandTheftMe taking over]] Tsuna's body. But after [[FakingTheDead the]] [[FlawExploitation dirty]] [[InTheBack tactics]] [[CombatPragmatist failed]], [[DefeatMeansFriendship he ended up being employed in the job of being the guardian of the person who beat him]]. Nowadays, he spends his time in the head of a girl who looks just like him, occasionally [[GrandTheftMe dropping by]] to save the day... Or something.

* AHandfulForAnEye: Gouges his own eyes out to activate one of his Realm auras.

* ActionFashionista: Alongside Gokudera, he one of the most fashion-oriented guardian, with TooManyBelts, studs, and leather accessories that you can put in an outfit.

* BadassLongcoat: His future self pulls this off in all its badassery.

* BigDamnHeroes: For Chrome in the Future Arc.

* DefeatMeansFriendship: Kind of... sort of. At least [[MessianicArchetype Tsuna]] thinks so.

* EnemyMine/[[TeethClenchedTeamwork Teeth-Clenched Teamwork]]: Happens at the end of the Inheritance Arc and following the third day of the Curse of the Rainbow trials. He's forced to join Tsuna's side and work with him and ends up [[spoiler: in a team of other former villains to help take down the final BigBad. That is, he's on a team with ''Byakuran and Xanxus''. [[AndZoidberg And also Dino and Squalo]], who are less terrifying]].

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Even after joining the Vongola Family, none of the guardians particularly seem to like him, with [[NiceGuy Tsuna]] being the only one that seems to have completely forgiven him, Yamamoto and Ryohei seem to be rather indifferent but recognize his strength (mostly because they didn't meet Mukuro until the ''Varia Arc''), and Gokudera and Hibari blatantly voicing how much they still hate and distrust him.

* HeWhoFightsMonsters: A somewhat subverted example, since he was introduced to the series as an antagonist. His backstory reveals that he was used as a human experiment by the Estraneo which caused him to enact revenge by wiping out the entire family. This is justified until he makes the decision to try to wipe out the Mafia (and wants to start a world war) altogether, exemplifying how he became just as bad as the people he despise.

* ISurrenderSuckers: Pretends to be defeated in his fight with Tsuna, but was counting on him lowering his guard so that he can possess him.
