* SympathyForTheDevil: [[spoiler:As the foals surround her and direct all their negative emotions at her, Snails can't help but realize that she's not really a monster, just something that's scared and hungry, and he can't help but feel sorry for her.]]
** [[spoiler:When, a few days later, Snails comes across Ocellus dying from both hunger and being poisoned by hate, Snails feels sorry enough for her to literally throw himself on her and give her love so that she can live instead. This actually works out very well for both parties.]]
* TokenHeroicOrc: So far, the only changeling who is not (deliberately) evil and smug. She's just looking for food.
** That being said, she has difficulty thinking of ponies other than Snails as food, and the principle thing keeping her from doing things like draining ponies dry of love, or eating their pets (or ''them''), is lack of need. She has ''no'' moral compunction against it, however, solely excepting where Snails is concerned or if she thinks it would hurt her relationship with him.
* VillainsWantMercy: [[spoiler:For a given value of "villain", anyway. When the foals finally have her cornered and are focusing their anger, fear, and hate on her, she ''begs'' them to stop due to it hurting so much. Later, when dying, she begs Snails to help it.]]

!!The Sirens
!!!Three sirens who live in the Everfree Forest. Surprisingly pleasant for beings who want to lure ponies into a river so that they can drown, and then eat them. Their names are Allegro Gleam, Canata Gloom and Chorus Glow.
* AffablyEvil: Canata and Chorus are more-or-less genial. Allegro not so much, but she's starving hungry and ''they're'' talking to the food.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: They ''hate'' fish, which is why they can't just live off them.
* EnthrallingSiren: Well, duh.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Allegro declined to eat Fluttershy because... well, she's ''Fluttershy''. Also, if they had, half the forest would've been after them for revenge.
* MeaningfulName: Their names are thematically the opposite of those ''other'' Sirens.
* NoNameGiven: Up until ''Ocellus' Ordinary Day'', they were only identified by their eye-colors. As that story notes, trying to eat anyone who walks past makes giving your name difficult. Allegro is the red eyed one, Canata the yellow, and Chorus the teal.
* OddFriendship: Chorus refuses to attack Steven Magnet, because he likes him.
** All three of them with Ocellus. The sirens or Ocellus would both, under the right circumstances, happily eat the other with little regret, but as long as Ocellus can help them hunt better and Ocellus can snack on their positive emotions to garnish the taste of solid food, they’re also quite happy to get along.

* IrrationalHatred: Hates Trixie for turning his brother in for a robbery he tried to commit. The rest of the family believes in a karma-like concept, so they don't outright hate her though. He also seems to associate that hate with her friends.
** After the Mayor kicks him out of town, he summons monsters to attack Ponyville.
* MaybeMagicMaybeMundane: Part of what makes him a NotSoHarmlessVillain is the fact that with Voodoo, it's often hard to tell how much of it is actual power and how much is simply smoke and mirrors, or altered Poison Joke. Trixie says he could still be a threat if only about a tenth of what he did had any actual power to it.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain: Despite the below, he is skilled in Voodoo that Trixie knows is not to be taken lightly and has affected a certain number of characters negatively.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Believes himself to be Trixie's Nemesis. Trixie just thinks he's a pest.

* SquishyWizard: Does not appear to be very strong, and Mayor Mare punches him out at one point.
