A colony of Poptropica's first settlers, who have several vital possessions stolen (a pig, water bucket, and flag). The island quest is to get the items back to them.
----
* NiceHat: Each of them wear one.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Their designs are much more pixelated than the average Poptropican, and each of them have a clearly defined black outline.
* OneGenderRace: Not as bad as other examples, since only about six are shown, but the ones who are seen are all male.

An islander who wears a dark blue mask and lives on a stand with a straw roof on top of a palm tree. He only helps you out if you are wearing the grass skirt that the salesman gives you, and instructs you to go to the temple to find the ingredients he needs to brew the potion that will tame the Great Booga Shark. !!Future Player Character

The player character from fifty years into the future, who warns you about the bad future s/he comes from and gives you the time device needed to go back in the past to repair it.
----
* BadFuture: Comes from one.
* FutureMeScaresMe: Averted. The player character's future self isn't seen as very irritating or freaky, and is more or less the same person ([[FeaturelessProtagonist as much as you can get in-game, anyway]]), only with bags under his/her eyes, white hair, and a pack of sticks on his/her back when coming from the BadFuture (but with glasses at the end, when you meet with him/her again).
* TheMentor: Plays this to his/her younger self.

!!Edmund Hillary

One of the first two people to climb Mt. Everest, who lost his climbing goggles. You can find his goggles on a warrior in the Aztec Empire.
----
* ForWantOfANail: Apparently, just the loss of his single pair of goggles (why he didn’t bring extra, no one knows) was one of the contributing factors to a BadFuture.

!!Dr. Hare
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dd4feb4e_5a08_4247_a640_c02ac607f773.png]]

The BigBad of the island, as well as Poptropica's first proper villain. He is the reason behind the carrot deficiency, having brainwashed many citizens into bunny drones that work for him and help make the stolen carrots into fuel for his robot spaceship (a "rabbot").
----
* AlliterativeName: His full name, '''H'''arvey '''H'''are.
* AmbiguousSituation:
** Going from [[AllThereInTheManual his backstory,]] it’s unknown who is the real “evil” side to Dr. Hare: his actual human self, the [[HairRaisingHare rabbit he shares his mind with,]] or both sides of his brain.
** Because [[spoiler:he and the other three villains [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere speedily swam off]] before Super Villain Island’s final battle,]] it’s not known if [[spoiler:Erewhon officials took them back in or they ran off for good, now redeemed people with the destruction of the totems.]]
* AnimalMotifs: Rabbits and hares, of course.
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: His giant "rabbot" on 24 Carrot Island.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Dr. Hare may have the weirdest motifs, but he’s still a capable supervillain. He was able to kidnap and brainwash (via hypno-devices) people into working for him, cause 24 Carrot Island to collapse into economic depression and pollution by stealing all of its main crop, and almost successfully reached space to take over the world. He was able to set facilities throughout Poptropica before being defeated, and even after the events of 24 Carrot Island they’re still running.
* {{BFG}}: Wields a carrot-powered ray gun in “Dr. Hare’s Revenge”.
* BigBad: Of 24 Carrot Island.
* {{Brainwashed}}: Does this to tons of citizens to make them work for him, with the aid of bunny drone ears.
* BreakoutCharacter: Out of all the villains, Dr. Hare has made the most appearances in the game (inside and out, through advertising) ever since his debut in 2007.
* CardCarryingVillain: He often boasts of being an [[EvilGenius “evil genius”]].
* DeepSleep: Is asleep in a container, along with several other villains (Binary Bard, Captain Crawfish, and Black Widow) on Super Villain Island. [[spoiler:He wakes up at the end and escapes, though]].
* DistressedDude: Not in reality, but on Super Villain Island, his dream involves getting kidnapped by ants and taken underground.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: It isn't known if he has a first name. Subverted with the release of [[AllThereInTheManual his villain biography]], revealing his first name is “Harvey”. But despite this, all his appearances have him called “Dr. Hare”.
* TheFaceless: We have never seen Dr. Hare officially without his goggles or his rabbit suit on, all we know is his [[AmazingTechnicolorPopulation LEGO figure complexion]] and his comically large rabbit buck teeth.
* FailedASpotCheck: Apparently despite being a self-proclaimed genius, he entrusts his brainwashed henchmen to pilot his rabbot for him and never considered someone (the player character) infiltrating using defunct rabbit drone ears and running the rabbot.
* GogglesDoNothing: Wears a pair of green goggles, but they don't really seem to do anything.
* GreaterScopeVillain: He doesn’t appear in “Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab”, but he is the one who built it. [[WordOfGod Jeff Kinney]] states he has several labs built throughout Poptropica, main base being the Carrot King Factory in 24 Carrot.
* HalfHumanHybrid: As a result of a freak experiment accident, his brain is half-human and half-rabbit.
* HarmlessVillain: Outside of the islands where he’s the actual main antagonist (24 Carrot and its ''Worlds'' remake, Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab, Dr. Hare’s Revenge), he’s not that much of a threat.
** In Super Villain Island, the player character comments he looks more cute than creepy when he’s asleep. His odd dream provides comic relief for an otherwise DarkerAndEdgier setting, compared to the other villains’ dreams it’s more cartoonish and silly.
** Alongside Betty Jetty, the Black Widow, and Director D, he appears in [=RealityTV=] Island as a possible contestant, but they all play by the rules and don’t attempt any sabotage.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Quotes this trope in “Dr. Hare’s Revenge” when the player character points out that he has no more carrots to power his ray gun, because ''all of his carrots'' were littered throughout the spaceship carrot, and the player had picked them all up.
* MadScientist: The first example of this villain archetype in the game.
* MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext: His dream in Super Villain Island. Dr. Hare gets kidnapped by ants, into their underground lair, and you have to rescue him by digging down there VideoGame/{{Terraria}}-style. It’s implied, apparently, ALL THIS connects to his evil motivations because, in ''this'' dream, is where his totem is found.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Judging from only Super Villain Island’s ending as evidence, [[spoiler:he can swim really fast, even during a thunderstorm.]]
* NoodleIncident:
** A magazine found in [=RealityTV=] Island says that after Dr. Hare was taken out of space, he starred in his own cooking show. What happened during and after that was never fully explained, but at the very least there’s reasoning to [[TheBusCameBack him participating in the island’s eponymous]] RealityShow.
** Apparently he has had the “kidnapped by ants” dream multiple times before the player character invaded it. And for some unexplained reason, he hates having it.
-->'''Dr. Hare:''' Nooo! Not this dream again!
* OneWayVisor: We’ve never seen his eyes since his goggles’ lens are extremely opaque, and he never takes them off. Then again because almost everyone in Poptropica is [[OnlySixFaces a large-eyed stick figure,]] it's safe to assume he looks just like everyone else without them.
* PaletteSwap: A handful of exclusive costumes recolor his pink/green rabbit costume.
** Nightmare Hare: A light blue/pink variant.
** Shadow Hare: A black/red variant, released alongside Light Hare.
** Light Hare: A white/blue variant, released alongside Shadow Hare.
* PluckyComicRelief: When he’s [[PunchClockVillain not attempting world domination]], he’s [[https://poptropica.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/drharehoolahooping.gif?w=352&zoom=2 hula-hooping,]] [[https://clawtropica.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/shoeanimate.gif?w=600 wearing fuzzy pink slippers,]] and getting kidnapped by ants in his dreams.
* RealMenWearPink: Literally. He wears a pale pink bunny suit.
* SeriesMascot: He replaces Shark Boy as one of Poptropica’s mascots, to the point he often teeters to be a VillainProtagonist.
* ShoutOut: His first name (Harvey) comes from the rabbit pooka from the play-turned-film [[Theatre/{{Harvey}} of the same name.]]
* SpinOffBabies: The Baby Dr. Hare Follower (based on [[Series/TheMandalorian The Child]]) is, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin of course]], a [[FountainOfYouth baby!Dr. Hare]] that follows the player character around when equipped.
* StarterVillain: The first real villain island-wise.
* VillainProtagonist: Becomes a playable character alongside his beaver-themed counterpart [[BrickJoke Dr.]] [[AscendedMeme Beev]] in the limited event mini-game “Hoptropica”.
* WolverinePublicity: Despite the title, he doesn’t appear in the “Dr. Hare’s Secret Lab” miniquest.
* WouldHurtAChild: He’s willing to hypnotize both adults and children into working for him. In “Dr. Hare’s Revenge”, he hatches an elaborate vengeance plot against the player character (however this is only applicable if the player is a KidHero).
* YouFool: Says this from the rabbot spaceship to you when you, while on the controls, crash it into an asteroid.

* GoodScarsEvilScars: Has a scar on his left cheek.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Gets defeated if you put a stone on one of the portions he pulls out of the ground, causing it to launch at and incapacitate him.
* MindOverMatter: He can move things ranging from bits of rock to whole chunks out of the ground.
* NonActionGuy: Unlike Speeding Spike, he doesn't come into direct combat with the player character, preferring instead to hit him/her with rocks and chunks out of the ground.
