Apparently very good at his job of going toe-to-toe with Talon, as he was never defeated by them on the field no matter how hard they tried. To alleviate this, Talon took another option: Kidnap Amélie, transform her into Widowmaker, then have her kill him in his sleep. [[StartOfDarkness It worked.]]

* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: Subjected to this, albeit in the most underhanded and despicable way imaginable. Gérard had a stellar record of thwarting every one of Talon's plans, so they resorted to using his wife against him to succeed.

Sadly deconstructed in another way; while they have no regrets in marrying, this marriage becomes a factor of Gérard's downfall, as Amélie was his one weak spot that Talon used in order to bring him down, by brainwashing Amelie into Widowmaker and having her strike from there where he would least expect it.

A man who specialized in robotics engineering. He is the former colleague of Torbjörn, though due to clashing beliefs and approach to their field of profession, their partnership was not without problems.

* NiceGuy: A peaceful, kind, and honest Omnic. He lost his life speaking out for peace between the humans and the Omnics.
* NoHistoricalFiguresWereHarmed: His design is reminiscent of UsefulNotes/MahatmaGandhi but his character arc more closely resembles [[UsefulNotes/CivilRightsMovement Martin Luther King, Jr.]]. Both were members of a race that was hated and discriminated against, and were strong advocates of racial equality, with their movements gaining a massive following. Both ultimately died from a sniper's bullet, and both deaths ignited racial tensions. But while the aftermath of King's death was a short and intense period of race riots, Mondatta's death turned King's Row into a racist hellhole for Omnics as racial tensions climbed higher than ever before.
