He had plans to become a royal guard, but after curiously stepping through a Kraang portal was held prisoner and experimented on by the Kraang turning him into a mutant. After escaping and made his way back to Equestria, he was feared and ostracized by ponies due to his mutated form. He went on the run and while learning the ways of the ninja became a mercenary. He was discovered by Tempest Shadow and brought to her master the Storm King who welcomed him into their ranks. While serving the Storm King he developed a close relationship with Tempest, only for the latter to betray him and leave him for dead in a canyon filled with serpents. Fueled by his anger and hatred managed to escape the canyon and vowed to never trust another pony again. He eventually happened across a spell book housing the spirit of sorcerer Dark Codex disguised as a crow spirit who taught him the secrets of the book while secretly feeding off his hatred for ponykind and how they treated him in the past.
