Blade Swipe
"It seems I must cut this meeting short, but make no mistake. You haven't seen the last of Blade Swipe."
Blade Swipe was once a Royal Guard in training until he discovered a Kraang portal and traveled through it only to be abducted and experimented on by the Kraang.
- All of the Other Reindeer: Because of his mutated form, the ponies saw him as a freak.
- Abhorrent Admirer: Trixie, both human and pony, has a huge crush on him. And completely oblivious to the fact that he only sees her as a friend. Everyone finds her advances on him amusing except Blade himself of course.
- Anti-Villain: Although he was a villain at the time, he helped the Hamato Clan and Mane Six defeat Queen Chrysalis, when she and some unreformed changelings invade Ponyville. He saves Toota Roola and Coconut Cream when the changeling Queen tries to attack them. And he also convinces the unreformed changelings to join Thorax.
- Amazon Chaser: Tempest Shadow/Fizzlepop Berrytwist, was his love interest, until she left him for dead. After her Heroic Sacrifice and Redemption, the two rekindle their love.
- Big Brother Instinct: When they were foals, Blade would always be there for his little sister Melody Spirit. And when the two are reunited, after seeing her cry triggers his heel face turn.
- Chick Magnet: A portion of equestrian magic turned Blade Swipe into this, causing any girl who lays eyes on him to instantly fall in love with him and chase him around (minus the Rainbooms who are immune to it due to their own magic and Trixie who is already in love with Blade Swipe).
- Curb-Stomp Battle: He delivers this to Raphael when the latter is the first to attack him during their first encounter. The other Turtles, Allies, and Ponies don't fair that much better against him either. Even after Leonardo fights him to draw, Blade surprises him with a horn blast.
- Curiosity Is a Crapshoot: His curiosity of the Kraang portal led to him getting captured and mutated into an anthro pony by the Kraang.
- Dark and Troubled Past: He was once a normal pony and a royal guard in training, until he went through a Kraang portal and was captured and mutated by the Kraang. Then afterwards, he joined the Storm King's army and was left for dead by Tempest Shadow, who he'd had a romantic bond with.
- Easily Forgiven: After he helps them defeat Dark Codex, the Hamato Clan and the Mane Six forgive him for what he has done. And later Princess Celestia and Luna forgive him, but state that he must atone for his past crimes. But after the ninjas and ponies, they have him make up for it with community service. And later make him a royal guard.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He has a little sister named Melody Spirit, who he loved dearly. Being reunited with her and seeing her cry causes his Heel Face Turn. He also had an affair with Tempest Shadow when they both worked for the Storm King.
- Friend to All Children: He saves Toota Roola and Coconut Cream from Queen Chrystalis. And after his redemption, he helps the Turtles train the Young Six and later Bright Eyes and Lancer.
- Heel–Face Turn: After being reunited with his sister, Melody Spirit, and seeing her cry, he snaps out of his villainy.
- Hopeless Suitor: Trixie is madly in love with Blade Swipe, not knowing he already has eyes on Tempest Shadow back in his world.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Although he insisted that he did it for himself, he helped saved Ponyville from Chrystalis, saved Toota Roola and Coconut Cream when the latter tried to attack them, and even convinced her followers to join Thorax.
- Left for Dead: While passing through a place called the Serpents Canyon, he became trapped under a rock slide. And instead of helping him, Tempest Shadow abandoned him and coldly told him that dead weight needs to be ditched.
- Love Redeems: Being reunited with his sister Melody Spirit after so long and seeing her cry causes him to make a heel face turn. This is even lampshaded by Michelangelo.
- Reformed: Like most MLP villains, he's reformed in the end and becomes a friend and ally.
- The Ageless: He reveals to the Hamato Clan and Mane Six that his mutation has caused him to stop aging.
- The Pawn: After his heelfaceturn, his crow reveals itself to be the spirit of an evil sorcerer named Dark Codex and that he had been manipulating him in order to feed off his hatered to regain his lost power. Blade is furious when he finds out. The same applies to when he worked for the Storm King, as the tyrant only used him to get what he wants.
- Tragic Backstory: He had plans to become a royal guard, but after curiously stepping through a Kraang portal was held prisoner and experimented on by the Kraang turning him into a mutant. After escaping and made his way back to Equestria, he was feared and ostracized by ponies due to his mutated form. He went on the run and while learning the ways of the ninja became a mercenary. He was discovered by Tempest Shadow and brought to her master the Storm King who welcomed him into their ranks. While serving the Storm King he developed a close relationship with Tempest, only for the latter to betray him and leave him for dead in a canyon filled with serpents. Fueled by his anger and hatred managed to escape the canyon and vowed to never trust another pony again. He eventually happened across a spell book housing the spirit of sorcerer Dark Codex disguised as a crow spirit who taught him the secrets of the book while secretly feeding off his hatred for ponykind and how they treated him in the past.
- Worthy Opponent: Leonardo is this to him. And later Tempest Shadow.
- Used To Bea Sweet Kid: After being shunned by the ponies that used to be his friends, because of his mutation, he became bitter and dark until his Heel–Face Turn.
Melody Spirit
Melody Spirit
"I've explored the farthest of lands to find anything worth recording from new lands and new species, to new civilizations lost by time. Everything."
Melody Spirit is Blade Swipe's now aged little sister and a retired explorer.
- Cool Old Lady: She was an explorer when she was younger and discovered many things. She even won some awards for her discoveries. Rainbow Dash says that she's as awesome as Daring Do.
Friendship School
Bright Eyes
Bright Eyes is a student at the School of Friendship and takes Cozy Glow's place as the new Friendship Assistant after the evil filly's arrest. She's also the co-star of the fic Magical Mayhem.
- Adaptational Species Change: She was an earth pony in My Little Pony Tales. She was changed to a unicorn in Friendship School.
- Ascended Extra: While she was a brief character in Friendship School, she's the co-star in Magical Mayhem along with Blade Swipe. She's Demoted to Extra in Rise of the Young Ninjas.
- Cast Herd: With Lancer, the CMC, and the Rock N Beats in the human world and with their pony counterparts, Teddy, and the Young Six in Equestria.
- Disproportionate Retribution: A plot point in Magical Mayhem, Cozy Glow's deception left the Mane Six wary of the other students, particularly Bright Eyes, and as such, treated her with distrust and suspicion. After being aggressively accused by Rainbow Dash just for smiling, Bright Eyes with Starlight's help runs away from the school and follows Blade Swipe through the portal to the human world. Thankfully, the Mane Six, with help from Splinter, realize their mistake and apologize to Bright Eyes when she returns with Blade.
- Expy: Is a rebooted version of the g1 Bright Eyes from My Little Pony Tales.
- Related in the Adaptation: While they were unrelated in My Little Pony Tales, Bright Eyes and Teddy are brother and sister here.
- Replacement Goldfish: After Cozy Glow is arrested and imprisoned in Tartarus, Bright Eyes takes her job as Princess Twilight's new Friendship Assistant. The princess even lampshades this at the end of Equestria Ninjas: Friendship School.

- Adaptational Nice Guy: While still rude and bullish, he's a lot nicer then his 90s incarnation.
