He and Pride don't get along, with Pride not bothering to hide his anger while Hamilton makes an effort to be outwardly friendly; both of their fathers have similarly feuded in the past. He becomes the mayor of New Orleans [[spoiler:and is ousted in season 3 as a consequence of his corrupt leadership]].

* EveryoneHasStandards: Has a ''very'' shady past but has never killed anyone [[spoiler: though he did help cover up a murder]] and truly wants what's best for the city. [[spoiler:Eventually, he starts resorting to murder to get people out of Clearwater to build a Navy shipyard, including a conspiracy to assassinate a Congresswoman who opposed it.]]

His introduction episode ends with him renovating Chris' living room like he promised; the room is a half-painted train wreck, and Cade himself hadn't slept for 3 days straight who is excitedly babbling to Chris about how amazing the room will look when it's done. Chris assures him it will be great, but he's clearly deeply saddened and concerned by his brother's mental state.

** In the 4th season, he's hated for making the city lose the port contract.
