The End of the World Super Saga is a collection of minor sagas and single editions (5 sagas and 14 editions in total at the time of this writing) written by Emerson Bernardo de Abreu, a comic book writer that also works on Monica's Gang classical editions. This super saga is mainly focused on horror stories, involving occultism, references to many mythologies (mainly Abrahamic religions) and other classic horror elements. Because of this, Emerson's stories are much more mature than the others teen focused editions, presenting elements such as death (including children dying), dark magic, satanic creatures and many others.

Despite the Gang being the same as presented in other issues, this version has some small differences that Emerson put according to his view of each character, such as, for example, the implicit romance between Smudge and Maggy. Additionally, Denise has been included as a main character and has appeared in every issue so far.

* BadassCrew: At first, they seem a group of normal teens in high school, but all of them have some kind of skill or ability that help in their fight against the agents of evil, such as, Monica has SuperStrength, Jimmy and Denise are both TheChessmaster, Smudge has SuperReflexes and is a parkour god and Maggy has [[spoiler: her family magic.]]
* BigGood: They are the main force trying to stop the coming of the Serpent, alongside Madame Creuzodete, Big Sunny and Future Denise.
* FiveManBand: In the Super Saga, the Gang is composed by the main four (Monica, Jimmy, Smudge and Maggy) plus Denise, which appeared in all editions so far and has a huge relevance in the overall story.

* DamselInDistress: Invoked and defied by her in ''Shadows of the Past, Part 2''. Monica infiltrated Penha's mansion to rescue Jimmy and put a stop to her plans, but when she comes across Jimmy running through the halls, he says that she shouldn't be there and that he was just trying to protect her. Monica got angry with Jimmy, saying she wasn't a damsel in distress and didn't need anyone to save her.
* DumbMuscle: PlayedForLaughs. While she has normal intelligence for her age, in the editions written by Emerson, she is portrayed as dumb and slow than the other around her.

* NeckLift: She suffered two of these in the super saga: the first by Agnes in ''Shadows of the Past, Part 2'' and the second by one of the Engineers in ''Heirs of the Earth'' issue. In both situations, the villains comment on how she can't even save her own life when trying to save others.

* AlphaBitch: As the richest, most beautiful and most popular girl in the neighborhood, Penha believes she has the freedom to abuse and manipulate everyone around her. She finds it unacceptable that Jimmy has exchanged her for Monica in the past, so much that [[spoiler: she spent a good part of her life planning a way to defeat them as revenge for the humiliation.]] Even those within her friendship circle are susceptible to her abuse, as in the case of Agnes and, especially, Sofia.
* ArchEnemy: She considers herself one for Monica, blaming her for being dumped by Jimmy in the past. Since then, she has been planning a way to defeat Monica, saying that she was the one who made her a bitter and vengeful person. In the Halloween issue, [[spoiler: what motivated her spirit to leave her comatose body was her desire for revenge against Monica.]]
* AstralProjection: [[spoiler: During Halloween, as the fabric that separates the world of the dead from the living was thinner, the hatred and desire for revenge caused Penha's spirit to leave her body in a coma to torment the Gang, especially Monica, during a school party. At the end of the issue, Maggy created a spell on her great-aunt's locket that trapped Penha's spirit in her body until she healed.]]
* BodySurf: [[spoiler: Penha's spirit, during the ''Halloween'' edition, moved between different bodies, as Smudge, Sophia, Maggy, and all the students at the school.]]
* TheBully: Since childhood, Penha has been bullying everyone around her, pointing out people's biggest weaknesses and making them feel like trash.
* DemonicPossession: [[spoiler: While in her ghost form, Penha had the power to possess the bodies of other people, such as Smudge, Sophia, Maggy, and all the students at the school.]]

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: In The Reverse Tower Part 2, when [[spoiler: Captain Fray asked for Penha in exchange for curing Monica,]] Denise quickly told the Gang to hand her over, since no one, besides Sophia, cared about her. Later, when Sophia said that the Gang liked Penha and would protect her at any cost, Maggy, Jimmy and Smudge tried to change the subject.

* GratuitousFrench: In Shadows of the Part 2, Penha says "Its time to begin ''la phase deux''" (phase two) when [[spoiler: Sophia comes back with more information about Monica.]] In ''The Reverse Tower, Part 2'', Penha says "''Je t' aime plus, mon amour''" (I love you more, my love) while making fun of the [[spoiler: romance between Jimmy Five and Denise.]]

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: [[spoiler: When Sophia was swallowed by Cerberus in the Third Circle, Penha began to cry, asking the others to help her friend.]]

* {{Narcissist}}: Penha loves to make everything revolve around her. When Jimmy and Dr. Stavros were arguing about Mister Samir [[spoiler:(aka Captain Fray)]], Penha attacked Jimmy and said that she is the protagonist of the story, not that "rickety old man".
* NightmareFace: [[spoiler: After being expelled from Maggy's body, Penha's spirit dissolves to possess all the other students at the school at once. During this process, Penha's face is shown melting, going from the rotting skin and muscles to the bones.]]

* PowersViaPossession: [[spoiler: When Penha possesses Maggy's body, she gains access to her latent magic, using it to terrorize the Gang.]]
* TheProudElite: Being the daughter of a corrupt and millionaire politician, Penha has disdain for the poorer ones around her, saying things like "I'm tired of interacting with the servants/C-class/commoners" and "this hospital has been better attended".

A guardian angel who protects the children of Limoeiro, called ''Anjinho'' (''little angel'').

* {{Lunacy}}: The coven receive their power from the Moon and it is present in many aspects like; the name of the coven, Hecate, is inspired in the Greek goddess often associated with magic and the moon and the phrase [[spoiler: Maggy]] uses to activate her magic is: "The Moon Cries Tonight]].

* {{Expy}}: Within the story's context and having the amusement park being in his name, not to mention him being the leader of his animal friends, he's basically [[VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys Freddy Fazbear]] in all but name.

* PosthumousCharacter: Given that he was middle-aged when [[spoiler:Captain Fray]] was a child, it's safe to assume he's long gone.

A pacient at the Lázaro de Betânia Hospital, who suffers a mysterious disease affecting both his mind and his skin. One night, he goes to Penha's bedroom and somehow wakes her up, implying that there's something off inside him but he can't remember or fight against it. In truth, he is Captain Fray, one of the most iconic villains from the classical comic books and arch nemesis of Smudge, who is also a foster uncle. Fray is also the White Horse of Decay, the third Horse to be revealed and, until the time of this writing, the last Horse in the Super Saga.

He only appears in ''The Inverse Tower'' saga.

* AlasPoorVillain: After everything he's been through: losing his parents in a landslip, being trapped in the basement for two weeks, being taken to a sinister orphanage where everyone around him hates or fears him, being bullied by evil twins, being accused of murdering people with just his presence and having to become a herald of the end of the world just to not see his nephew suffer; It's hard not to feel sorry for Captain Fray.
* AllAccordingToPlan: Not by him, but by higher forces involving him: The pact he made with the Serpent was making him weak, so the bugs needed a new host for the curse of foul powers to continue the Horse of Decay's quest. Through the eyes of the flies, they identified that Fray had a nephew, Smudge, and that this boy would be the ideal body to become the next Horse of Pestilence. They used the Inverse Tower to tell Fary's tragic story to Smudge and, knowing that he would take pity and try to take the curse to undo his uncle's damage, they used the Octahedron of Shadows filled with Liquid Shadow to possess Smudge and make him the Serpent's next servant.

* ArcVillain: He is the main villain of The Inverse Tower saga.

* {{Biomanipulation}}: He gained the power of manipulating the flesh of others and himself, limited only by his imagination. He turned himself into a giant cockroach and a centipede monstrosity and regenerated his body countless times, while he also transformed three of the hospital staff into monsters to attack the Gang and also infected Monica to transform her into a slug and make her a servant.

* CreepyChild: What the adults that worked in the orphanage thought of him because his mere presence filled the room with swarms of insects, like he was attracting them, so they believed there was something wrong with his soul. The truth is that the insects were actually watching him to make sure he would behave and not tell anybody about his deal with them.
* DisproportionateRetribution: The nurse and the coroner were only doing their job taking care of a patient infected with an unknown disease. Fray’s retribution to them was to transform the two into [[HumanoidAbomination Humanoid Abominations]] in constant agony.

* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He loves his nephew Smudge. When he disagreed to participate in the Serpent's plans to become the White Horse of Decay, the Centipede said that evil doesn’t tolerate weak hosts, so the curse would move to the people he loves the most, in this case Smudge. Fray said he would do anything to protect his nephew, so he accepted the curse and became the Horse of Decay. When Smudge take the curse and almost became the Horse in his place, Fray decided to take the curse back because, as his own word “it [the curse] will only bring misery to his life”. Again, he sacrificed himself to the sake of his nephew.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: When the Gang refused to give Penha in turn of Monica’s cure, Fray said how did they still protect someone who always was their enemy.

* EvilUncle: He is the foster uncle of Smudge, one of the protagonists.
* FleshGolem: He created three of them out of human people to help him fight the Gang.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: As standard to the Horses. He was once a simple boy whose parents were killed in a big storm that, after a pact with the Serpent, became the White Horse of Decay and one of the heralds of the end of the world, destined to pollute the entire planet.
* HeroKiller: While he doesn’t kill them, he removes Monica and Sophia from the equation by mutating the former and making a monster swallow the latter.
* HorsemenOfTheApocalypse: He's revealed to be the White Horse of Decay, spreading decay and rot and ontrolling a horde of insects during the "Inverse Tower".
* HumanoidAbomination: After waking up, his body starts to contort into an inesctoid shape, which he change at will growing insectoid legs and removing parts like he was made of modelling clay. In his final form, he becomes a giant centipede form.

* OrphanageOfFear: The orphanage he was taken to, headed by the House of Asclepius, was not so welcoming to him. The adults feared him and the kids hated him, so he spent his time reading comic books alone or running from the rain. The only person that cared for him was a nurse that, when the orphanage closed, adopted him.

* AdaptationalBadass: The original Cumulus was a silly villain who could only conjure mild rainstorms, and his frail [[{{Cumulonemesis cloud body]] left him vulnerable to even the gentle breeze of a household fan. This version is instead portrayed as an unstoppable force of nature who can manipulate any fluid and generate devastating floods. Denise plainly calls him the most powerful being on Earth.

* AdaptationalJerkass: [[spoiler: In the classical ''Monica’s Gang'' comics, Cumulus is one of the main villains of Smudge, blaming him for ruining his career as a journalist. Since then, he's been trying to bathe Smudge as revenge, but always with a touch of humor and comedy, as these comics are aimed at children. However, as ''Monica's Teen'' is aimed at a more teen and adult audience (much more in the End of the World Super Saga editions), Emerson turned Cumulus into a alcoholic bully who likes to fight and abuse defenseless women, going until he ended up in jail several times for his crimes.]]

* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:After abrsorving the liquid shadow from Smudge's body, he's exposed to sunlight and gets burnt by it. It's not clear whether he was killed off or temporarially reduced to water vapor.]]

It's first mentioned in the "Umbra" Arc, when it's revealed as the Entity who seduced the arc villain with the means to get her revenge and bring back her daughter, and it's mentioned agains in all other following editions, being established as the UltimateEvil responsible for everything the team's been involved in.

* BalefulPolymorph: [[spoiler:He follows Future Denise and Sunny into the House Out of Time, where they intended to use the place's time powers to time travel. But one of the side effects of staying there too long without taking precautions is that you get turned into a cukoo. He spent seven years as a bird.]]

* PayEvilUntoEvil: [[spoiler:Tricking your enemy with an illusion of her baloved daughter screaming and sobbing for her help is a horrible act, but given that she was using it against the very person who caused her to become an undead being for twenty years, it's hard to call her out on it.]]

* UncertainDoom: [[spoiler:After abrsorvin the liquid shadow from Smudge's body, he's exposed to sunlight and gets burnt by it. It's not clearbqhethwr he was killed off or simply became water vapor and could return someday.]]

* TheBigGuy: The Bilu Bear is the biggest animatronic in the park, [[spoiler:big enough to trash the other animatronic being controlled by the Silent when the ang manage to control it]].

* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: She captures the Leleala pigs and keeps them locked and starving as part of Penha's plan to frame Monica when she comes to investigate at her old house and wrecks havoc.
** Even in the classic comics, she had an habit of capturing birds and putting them on cages especifically to hear their sad singing and once captured Maggy's cat Vanilla to cook him and make a scarf out if his fur!!
* CombatTentacles: Agnes often used her shadow tentacles to attack or grab people.
* FreudianExcuse: Her parents died from a infection spread at the House of Asclepius where she grew up, causing her hypocondria, and even after their deaths, they remained as ghosts and sheltered her from the outside world, forbiding her to make frindship with anyone other than Penha, who treated her as little more than her minion.
* GhastlyGhost: Being a member of the Shadow People, Agnes is an evil and malevolent ghost, serving as Penha’s Dragon and having no calms about killing innocent people.
* {{Hypochondria}}: When she was alive, Agnes was known as “The Hypochondriac” because she was afraid of getting sick. This trait stayed with her after her death, such as when she didn't follow Monica and Denise through the sewer for fear of catching disease.

* PutOnABus: According to Emerson, Agnes will not be returning in the End of the World Saga.

* TheGrimReaper: Despite the Grim Reaper being a totally different entity in this universe, being Lady MacDeath, Ângelo was summoned by Monica to escort Agnes, a ghost, to one of the afterlife planes. He basically did the work of a reaper.

* BrightIsNotGood: He is the *White* Horse of Decay, but there is nothing good about him.

%%ZCE* AmazonBrigade: She tried to fight Jim's armies by herself for a while, but once it was clear sye couldn't keep up with them much longer, the girls from the Lemon Street and Big Sunny joined her and became her army of Resistance.

The parents of Agnes, Penha's friend. In the classic comics, they are ghosts who haunt Agnes' house and continue to shelter and control their daughter, and making her what she is.

* AlienGeometries: The Quadrivium, a castle in Planet Tomb, is a octahedron fortress that floats (by unknown means) above an abyss and have shadow tentacles coming out of it.
* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Lampashed by Monica in her second encounter with the aliens, who suddenly started speaking Portuguese (the comic’s original language). This is explained by the alien, who says that human languages are so primitive that even a parrot can learn and repeat it.

* AncientEvil: The Shadow People is the first and oldest species in the Universe, eventually dying out in the past but being revived by the Serpent to aid her in her plans.
* ArtifactOfDoom: The Octahedron of Shadows is a miniature version of the Quadrivium (as seen above) that can absorb the souls of bad people and condense it in Liquid Shadow, teleport people to other locations and build structures like [[spoiler: The Inverse Tower, a dimensional gateway]]. It seems to have sentience, as detected that [[spoiler: Smudge absorbed Captain Fray’s powers and teleported to him]] and, as [[spoiler: Captain Fray]] said, “It’s the final key to Earth transformation”.
* CoolStarship: Their starship, which was a [[spoiler: Incan temple]], is made of 750 tons of gold and has the shape of the rune of IOR, the Serpent’s seal.
* DarkIsEvil: They are made of liquid dark shadow and are an AlwaysChaoticEvil race.

* InsectoidAliens: While the Shadow People don’t have a true form, since they can shapeshift at will, certain individuals often take the form of insects, such as [[spoiler: Fake Nick Nope]] and one of the Engineers, which seems to be related to the fact that Earth's insects are under the Serpent's control.

* ServantRace: As the Serpent revive all of them in the past, they all have UndyingLoyalty to her, serving her for eons.

* UndeadAbomination: As being evil aliens wasn’t enough, the Shadow People is actually a zombie/undead version of itself. In the past, they all died out, but they were revived by the Serpent and now they are made of Liquid Shadow, pain and suffering condensed in liquid.
* WeakenedByTheLight: The Shadow People have a single known weakness: sunlight. The Liquid Shadow within them burns, consequently burning and killing them. Because of this, Planet Tomb was covered with dark clouds that prevented the sun's rays from reaching the interior of the planet. [[spoiler: The Horse of Decay's mission was to pollute the Earth's atmosphere to a point where sunlight could not reach the surface, making the planet bearable for the Shadow People.]]

* MakingASplash: When Denise entered her Tower, she summon giant waves to scare and send her away.

* AnimalisticAbomination: The Flying Donkey is a supernatural creature that resemble a donkey, with a donkey’s skull for the face and fairy wings in the back.

* DarkIsEvil: They are made of liquid dark shadow and are a complete evil race.

* OurDemonsAreDifferent: They serve as the Super Saga version of demons, since they are an evil race that serves a Satan-like entity, they live in a planet that serve as Hell and will participate in her plans to conquer the world. When the [[spoiler: Gang was escaping Planet Tomb]], Shub-Sogoth says that they were “a legion”, which is a term used in the Bible to describe groups of demons.

* ApologeticAttacker: [[spoiler:After it's revealed that the real Nic Nope is in the Planet Tomb and he's an imposter who sabotaged their spaceship]], he keeps apologyzing and saying that he didn't want to do that, but the Serpent's influence is stronger.

* ConflictingLoyalty: After [[spoiler:assuming Nick Nope's likeness and personality]], the imposter wound assuming some contradictory aspects [[spoiler:from his personality]] and started to question its master's orders, but couldn't fight against its influence.
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:He subtly gives Frankling and Astronaut a clue about the only thing that can destroy it: light, as he's attacking them, showing thatNick Nope's contradictory nature is still fighting against the Serpent's orders]].

* CheerfulChild: In his childhood, Fray was an energetic and enthusiastic child, much to Agnes and Boris dismay.

This lead to speculations that she may be (or was) a member of the House of Hecate, a coven of witches that receive its power from the Moon.

* AbusiveParents: Her parents, a vampire and a corrupt politician, certainly influenced Penha's growth and made her what she is today. They knew she was messing with other children's lives, calling her the Red Horse of War, and yet they did nothing. When she [[spoiler: fell into a coma after the events of Shadow of the Past Part 2, her parents paid the hospital bill but did not visit her once in a year.]]

* TheBully: Since childhood, Penha has been bullying everyone around her, pointing out people biggest weaknesses and making them feel like trash.

* FrenchJerk: Because of her French accent, Penha was probably born in France and went to Brazil as a child or spent part of her life there after being born in Brazil. Regardless of that, she is a despicable, arrogant and manipulative teenager who makes everyone's lives hell.

This alternate version of Denise comes from a future where [[spoiler: Jimmy takes of the world, so she and Big Sunny, her boyfriend, traveled back in time to prevent that dark timeline.]]

The Silent is one of the most feared robots of Jimmy Five. Being completely silent and stealthy, he can spy on anyone unnoticed. [[spoiler: In truth, he is the future version of Humberto.]]

The '' '''Di'''visão '''Na'''cional de '''Mi'''stérios e '''Ca'''tástrofes'' (Nacional Division of Mysteries and Catastrophes), a secret organization that seeks to track and neutralize unusual threats to the safety of the world. They approach Monica and her friends on a couple occasions in stories outside the End Of The World Saga, but reappear here [[spoiler:and are revealed to be involved in Mr. Samir's presence during the events of ''Inverse Tower'']].

An insect that serves the Serpent, and is responsible for waking the apparently deceased "Mr. Samir" [[spoiler:was the one who made a deal with him when he was a child to make him the Horse of Decay.]]

* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: When Berenice and her daughter fused in the Flying Donkey, the creature were already tall, but, since she gained more power as time goes by, in the final battle she was a massive creature several meters taller than the trees.

* DyingRace: [[spoiler: With the destruction of Planet Tomb, it is very likely that the Shadow People have gone extinct, or are at least in risk. However, as the Astronaut said, they are scattered across the Universe, infiltrating different societies, so it is possible that some individuals survived.]]
* EasilyThwartedAlienInvasion: [[spoiler: The Gang apparently stopped the invasion of Earth when they blew up Planet Tomb and killed all the aliens. But, as stated a few tropes above, it is possible that there are more Shadow People scattered across the galaxy, and as revealed by a Possessed Smudge, the Serpent actually survived Tomb's destruction and is still at large, so it's possible that a new invasion could happen in the future.]]
* EvilCounterpartRace: On the internet, there is the theory of the People of Light, which would be the angels, like Angelo, and those responsible for expelling the Shadow People from Earth billions of years ago. As enemies, this would explain the need for the Shadow People to hide their planets and their ship, which is shaped like the Rune of IOR, so that the People of Light cannot identify them.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He is never seen again after his encounter with [[spoiler: Captain Fray]], but, as stated above, it is possible that he is dead.

* AmbiguousSituation: It is unknown what happened to him after the orphanage was closed, as he wasn’t seen growing up with his parents (ghosts) and sister. There are theories that he is the cat of Vivian, the Moon Witch, as the two have the same name and, as shown in the Marina Birthday issue, the cat was once a man.
