** Above all, despite their outward appearances, neither one is human. Himegami is [[spoiler: what's left of the original's Element, in metaphysical form]], whereas Otohime is a clone of [[spoiler: Takeru Yamato]]. Making it a {{justified}} example, since he made a copy of his own niece.

* {{Bishonen}}: Gouken was fairly handsome, at least, until Takeru got through with him.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Or pants, or ''any'' clothes really, except his kimono. Otherwise, he'd be walking around naked.

* RatedMForManly: Miyabi definitely believes so, 'cuz she can't stop bragging about how powerful he is. And after watching him bang a chamberful of concubines, she got so turned on, that she blushed and started [[spoiler: dripping]].

* CasualDangerDialog: You know a guy's cool under pressure, when he's about to be crushed by a giant can of [[BlandNameProduct "Red Bell"]] and his only reaction is {{dull surprise}}.

* MegaTwinTails: In the form of a massive pair of OjouRinglets that extend behind her back in an inverted "V" formation.

* VillainousBreakdown: Yamato has a major one during his final moments, [[IDontWantToDie once the realization set in]] that he was soon to die, despite finally attaining godhood. He rants that he can't understand why he's always been obsessed with his niece, why every time he's tried to kill her, someone always intervenes on her behalf. As the fight nears its conclusion, he demands to know why [[spoiler: Oosuo's spirit he had returned from death to defend his daughter, instead of him]]. Nor could he understand why all the students and faculty at Tenbi and Venus [[EnergyDonation were loaning their Element]] to Takeru.

* CloningGambit: To make full use of his BodySurf ability, he is in the body of producing countless clones of himself to always have a spare body to inhabit once he's killed. Which make him basically unkillable no matter how many of his bodies are destroyed by the heroes. To add to this, he makes use of his clones as elite warriors in his army through genetic engineering or putting souls he's stolen from others and modified into them.

* BodySurf: After his current body is destroyed, his soul can survive on its own and possess somebody else. Add that to [[WeHaveReserves his method of mass-producing clones]], and he's basically immortal even after the heroes successfully destroy several of his host bodies.

* YourSoulIsMine: "Soul Collector" is how he sustains himself after taking injury. By feasting on other souls, he fully recovers while killing the victim. But he can also use it to to take control of their minds, or alter their memories.

* NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist: He tends to make grand speeches about wanting to become a god so that he can use his soul manipulating powers [[SuperSupremacist to give Ability Users a utopia where they would rule over the normal people and be able to live in peace]]. But the truth is that he want supreme power because he's [[MortalPhobia deeply paranoid about someone managing to permanently kill him]] and desire to get rid of any threats, be they normal people ''or'' Ability Users.

* BlackEyesOfCrazy: Presumably a side-effect of his soul-manipulating power, since Gouken gains them when he takes over the latter's body (though Ouken confusingly had normal eyes). Either way, they perfectly represent his total lack of any sort of empathy or morals.

* BodySurf: After his current body is destroyed, his soul can survive on its own and possess anyone. Add that to [[WeHaveReserves his method of mass-producing clones]], and he's basically immortal even after being killed over and over.

* DidntSeeThatComing: Throughout the final battle, he was convinced that he had nothing to fear so long as he kept Takeru Oyama from getting near him. So when Takeru finally conered him and was about to strike the final blow, Yamato fled by projecting his soul outside of his physical body. He completely forgot that his niece [[spoiler: could do it too, not realizing he had just played right into her hands]]. Whoops.

* FamilialBodySnatcher: He can technically possess anyone he wants, but it put a massive strain on his soul unless they're biologically related to him. To work around this, he both [[ReallyGetAround impregnated as many women as he could]] and, after possessing his modern-day descendant [[spoiler:Ouken]], began to mass-produce clones of himself. Thus giving him both an army and a steady amount of replacement bodies.
