* ObliviousToLove: Yusaku is obviously in love with her but he doesn't take him seriously. Even when he openly declares his love, she thinks he's just joking and gets angry at him.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: He seems like a meek EndearinglyDorky boy, especially compared to the aggressive Yusaku and the openly perverted duo of Hatta and Komatsu. However, on occasion it's shown that he wouldn't mind taking advantage of his powers (such as hypnosis or TimeStandsStill) to kiss or touch Madoka, which made her angry a few times. Not to mention that he does this while also being in a relationship with another girl, and constantly lying to her.

* ClassicalAntiHero: He's ''very'' indecisive and isn't very talented overall, and has traits of this when it comes to love as well, often acting cowardly towards Madoka and Hikaru. That said, he's a good guy at heart and can also be very brave in some situations.

* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She's a beautiful brunette, who is also cool, composed and aloof in her demeanor. However, that's a facade, she's in truth NotSoStoic.

* BareYourMidriff: Downplayed, as in the series she hardly ever exposes her midriff, but the trope is largely represented in artbooks and fanart.
* BeautyEqualsGoodness: A very beautiful AloofDarkHairedGirl and the BigGood who performs heroic deeds, definitely.

* TheCynic: Kind of this at times due to her melancholy and distrustful attitude, but she still has her idealism.

* GoodIsNotNice: SubvertedTrope: in truth, she ''is'' a very nice person, but, especially at the beginning, she can come across as harsh sometimes. Her tendency to hardly trust people is largely concerned with people who surround her, who often think she's a delinquent just based on rumours.

* TookALevelInJerkass: Not as much as Kyōsuke, but in the first movie, she tells him to break it off with Hikaru as soon as he can and apparently has no regards for hurting Hikaru's feelings if it means she can be with Kyosuke. However, she's not as ruthless as Kyosuke, and when she later talks to Hikaru she's a little softer, but still must make her front reality.

* BuxomIsBetter: Her "adult figure" is often used for {{Fanservice}} and adds to her mature allure.

* LoserProtagonist: He's awkward, not very bright, and there are comical scenes where he screws up or he makes a fool of himself ''in very episode''. Downplayed in that he's also a ChickMagnet, while the other three boys in his group of friends are even bigger losers than him.
