* FriendToAllChildren: Shinji has a soft spot for children, and three episodes show him saving little girls. One in particular, episode 19, has him risk his life in order to comfort a little girl being held hostage by Asakura, secretly playing dolls with her from afar to calm her down and staying with her as Asakura releases everyone else but holds her for insurance.

** Despite having the highest kill count of all the riders in the series, he also has died the most of all the ''Ryuki'' riders - first, he died at the end of the TV series being gunned down by the police. Then, in ''Episode Final'', he was killed by Femme when the latter destroyed his Contract Deck. Then he is killed off by [[Series/KamenRiderDrive Mach's Dead Heat]] along with [[Series/KamenRiderKiva Dark Kiva]] in ''Kamen Rider 4'', and then in [[Series/KamenRiderExAid Beast Rider Squad special]], he's killed by Kamen Rider Brave while the latter is using the Knight of Safari Gashat.

* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: While not exactly the last Rider to appear in ''Ryuki''[[note]]Production-wise, it's Verde who became the 13th Rider; story-wise, Odin is intended to be the 13th Rider[[/note]], he's this as he's the only Rider to come from Mirror World.

Gorou is the manservant of Shuichi Kitaoka, and utterly devoted to the man. He's a talented cook and martial artist, and for a brief moment it was hinted that he was Zolda. He also has an odd habit of whistling, and admires anyone who has an equally good whistle. Gorou knows about Kitaoka's double-life as Zolda, and it causes him great pain to think that his master is fighting for his life every time he transforms.

Gorou's dedication to Kitaoka came from a sense of guilt: Kitaoka had defended Gorou in court against a false charge instead of attending a medical examination that could have detected his cancer and saved his life. Kitaoka holds no grudge against Gorou, but the young man feels beholden to Kitaoka. At one point, Gorou nearly murders Asakura to protect his master. But Kitaoka stops him, knowing that the act would have shattered Gorou emotionally and gently telling him that it was not his duty to fight his battles for him.

Sadly, it was the very act of fighting one of Kitaoka's battles for him that led to Gorou's death. Having refined his abilities to the level of a master chef, Gorou could have left and lived his own life. But instead, with Kitaoka determined to finish things with Asakura but unable to because of his rapidly failing health, Gorou takes the Zolda Deck and goes in his place. The Mirror World is where Gorou meets his end.

* EvilCounterpart[=/=]EvilKnockoff: Alternative's visor speaks with a female voice instead of a male one, its belt spins vertically instead of horizontally when it appears, and its Advent Cards are swiped across the visor instead of being inserted into them. Alternative's Advent Cards are also laid out lengthwise (name on the right, image in center, stats on left) instead of the regular heightwise (name on top, image in center, stats on bottom).
