* OneHundredPercentAdorationRating: Chloe is a celebrity on the train for her determination to stop the Apex, something that irritates Bede to no end. Deconstucted since it's shown that nothing but praise can be toxic as negative comments and that [[spoiler:someone is deleting anything that ''doesn't'' show Chloe as perfect along with almost every other Infinigram account online. Later, she is reassured that she is still loved and doesn't have to put a bar to compare herself with.]]

* KillEmAll: After Grace killed Chloe (in self-defense but the Quarto arrives too late to see it or at least do anything to calm Chloe down), the other members massacre ''the entire Apex in retaliation'' with only Grace surviving (albeit she lost her right arm to Amelia).

* AmbiguousDisorder: He shows off a lot of callousness on others but when ''he'' is put under the spotlight he can't take it and [[spoiler:decides to kill himself than try to better himself.]]
** He also is shown to have problems with empathy given how he didn't consider his words to Hop would've affected ''Leon'' for one thing...

* StaticCharacter: He can't grow no matter what because he ''refuses'' to admit that he needs to change. Even when Chloe tells him that he needs to stop pushing others away, he believes her... but refuses to say it out loud. Even Sunset notes that he refuses to change because admitting he wants to means he goes back home, something he doesn't ''want'' to do.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Yusaku has blue hair with pink streaks while Ai's hair is purple.

* GamerChick: She's into ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry'' as she shouts the ever-famous "Fill your dark soul with LIIIIGHT!" line and wants to get a copy of ''Shin Megami Tensei III HD'' because it features Dante.

* ActionSurvivor: He has no combat abilities of his own, not even weaponry like Chloe, but he still manages to put a dent on ''Midnight Sparkle'' when she grabs Wallflower.

* DecoyProtagonist: He effectively stops being important after his [[spoiler: attempted suicide]], with Chloe hijacking the Protagonist status from there on.

* DidNotThinkThisThrough: He never considers his words or actions and it ends up with a lot of pain.

** And finally, [[spoiler:he didn't consider how his suicide would affect a ''ten-year-old girl'' and her mental health, nearly causing her to kill herself. While it's downplayed when Sunset reveals that it's ''not'' everything, the fact that Bede never tells Chloe he's alright is one of the key factors that makes her decide to jump into the wheels like he did.]]

* PetTheDog: Zigzagged; he does care for his Pokémon but he's known to be somewhat strict when they make mistakes (for example, scolding his Abra for accidentally teleporting them to the Pizza Chat Car.)
* PsychologicalProjection: Chloe points he has a tendency to push people who wish to help him aside, and whenever he claims people want him to die, it's really just Bede putting his words on someone else's mouth.

She would've gone and told Chloe himself had One-One not threaten to kill her (and disabling her barriers)]] And then she's even ''more'' pissed off at how [[spoiler:One manipualted the cars so that Grace and Simon ''specifically'' entered the Jungle Car and met Hazel to see if Grace can learn empathy. One turns this around stating that if it wasn't for Infinigram and her ''seeing'' Hazel online, Amelia wouldn't even care about the girl until way too late.]]

* OutOfCharacterAlert: Steve is surprised to find Josh acting so cold. [[spoiler:When he confronts Josh, the narration implies that he goes from shocked to a TranquilFury about how ''Steve'' was once similar to him, hinting in something is up.]]

Why ''shouldn't'' she be given something after the entire world chewed her out? * WhatTheHellHero: Ai and Yusaku are justified in their anger when Chloe points out that by stating what cyclamen mean within earshot of The Curious, it just made Bede isolate himself from the closest thing he had to a friend on the Trian. Chloe admits that she worded it wrong and was pointing out why Bede had a bad habit of even ''doing'' that in the first place. [[spoiler: Later it's one of the factors that makes Chloe feel like the two hate her for what was honestly a simple mistake. They have to reassure her that while she worded it wrong, Chloe actually did more than those two in regards to Bede's problems.]]

As one comment puts it, he's there to help Chloe, not to be ''nice'' to her. In Chapter 6, he ''shoots Amelia'' to prevent her from interfering with Chloe's development.]]
