* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Treats anyone outside of the Lost as people he owes no loyalty to.

* AFatherToHisMen: One of his [[NobleDemon few redeeming qualities]]. While he may not have personally liked all of them, he always looked out for for everyone in The Lost. [[spoiler: His actions during the club's CivilWar may be debatable, but it can't be denied that he only started killing his fellow brothers when they [[KillingInSelfDefense shot at him first]].]]

* TheTeetotaler: Johnny does consume alcohol, but, unlike his fellow bikers, is never seen using drugs, and actually has a level of disdain towards drugs. He does however off-handedly mention that he smokes marijuana, so it's likely that he just avoids the heavier stuff.

* AnOfferYouCantRefuse: He is often forced into committing crimes on behalf of parties outside the club. [[CorruptPolitician Congressman Stubbs]] has {{Blackmail}}ed him into doing various crimes to further the man's political campaign. [[spoiler: He also [[CivilWar destroyed Brian's faction]] at Ray Boccino's prodding, so the club can return to supplying TheMafia with product.]]

* PragmaticVillainy: He tells Aramando and Henrique to steal drugs from other drug dealers, since the dealers themselves wouldn't try to call the cops on them. This suggests that he's done it before.

* AscendedExtra: Went from a minor character in the main story of ''GTAIV'' to the protagonist of his own episode.

* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Being a gang leader and drug dealer, Johnny is a stone cold killer, even compared to the other protagonists, but he's not a horrible man, since the [[HonorAmongThieves mutual sense of brotherhood and loyalty]] he fosters in his gang makes him look like a saint compared to the [[PoliticallyIncorrectVillain xenophobic]] Angels of Death, the [[ManipulativeBastard manipulative]] Ray Boccino, and even the [[ForTheEvulz sadistic]] Billy Grey.

* DontTellMama: He doesn’t tell Roman the real reason why of how his mother (also his aunt) died in war and instead tells him she died in a house fire because he couldn’t bring himself to tell him the truth about the woman being brutally gang-raped and murdered and how he found her body after the heinous ordeal.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: While [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV GTA V]] gave him a few Easter Eggs (stating that he is still alive and, in the Enhanced version, continues to work at Roman's cab company), he never made a physical appearance. His voice actor had conflicts with Rockstar, so it is very likely that we will not see him again.

* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Luis is the only protagonist of the ''IV'' trilogy whose fate is still unknown.

* PoliticallyCorrectVillain: Niko is pretty disgusted with the fact that Bernie’s boyfriend is a right-wing politician that spews homophobic rhetoric (despite being [[BoomerangBigot secretly gay]]). ** He also does not approve of homophobic hate crimes as he willingly protects Bernie from being assaulted by homophobes on several occasions.

* BadassInCharge: When he leads the Lost MC. [[EstablishingCharacterMoment Seen best]] in his entrance in the first cutscene.

* AlliterativeName: Subverted. His first and last name both start with the same letter, but he has a middle name which starts with a different letter.

* BiggerIsBetterInBed: Inverted. Several women which Luis had sex often joke about he having a small penis, but it don't prevent him from being TheCasanova.

* TheCasanova: He is known to date several women.

* AmbiguousDisorder: Niko shows clear signs of [[ShellShockedVeteran PTSD]], depression and even [[TheSociopath anti-social personality disorder]] as a result of his experiences in the Bosnian and Yugoslav Wars. However, Niko cares about his family, and part of him wants to live a normal life. But he murders, sells drugs, and in general, does not seem to have anything close to a conscience. Interestingly, he realizes this about himself, and readily recognizes that the things he does are awful. An AlternativeCharacterInterpretation may be Niko desperately wants to believe this. Given that his protectiveness of Roman and Kate, this interpretation is very likely.

* AffablyEvil: Niko is generally a nice guy, who just so happens to be involved with organized crime.
