Minerva is the daughter of Ziemma, and the most powerful member of Saber Tooth. Her multi-dimensional magic, Territory, gives her absolute control over everything she sees. Like the rest of her guild, Minerva embodies her father's creed of "survival of the fittest", cruelly stamping out those who oppose her. Her obsession with strength eventually drives her to join Succubus Eye and later Tartaros, where she is transformed into a demon. However, when Sting and Rogue rescue her during the battle of Tartaros, she returns to Saber Tooth for good.

* EasilyForgiven: Along with her fellow Saber Tooth guildmates, Erza and Lucy instantly forgive Minerva for her villainous actions in the Grand Magic Game.

** Both her and Lucy were abused by their fathers (Minerva physically, Lucy emotionally) because they weren't what their fathers wanted them to be (Ziemma wanted her to be a strong, ironclad warrior, while Jude wanted Lucy to be a ProperLady). While Lucy ran away and made a new life and friends for herself, Minerva stayed and became even worse than her father.
* EvilIsPetty: After Erza temporarily gets turned into a child, Minerva uses her as a punching bag to vent after her humiliation during the Grand Magic Games.

* MotiveDecay: Her motive in the Grand Magic Games is to uphold Saber Tooth's status as a formidable guild that would strike fear and awe in the hearts of others. Once Saber Tooth loses to Fairy Tail, she decides to exact revenge against Fairy Tail, further narrowing it down to an obsession with fighting Erza, the one person who defeated her. In the end, after being bested by Erza once again as Neo-Minerva, she finally breaks down and admits [[DeathSeeker her desire to die]] after throwing away everything else in her life.

* OurDemonsAreDifferent: She starts out as a human, but is genetically reconstructed as a demon by Tartaros's technology. It's implied in the Q&A of Volume 52 that even though she has since regained her human appearance after returning to Saber Tooth, [[NotQuiteBackToNormal she wasn't completely returned to human form]].

* ReforgedIntoAMinion: At the end of the [[Recap/FairyTailSunVillageArc Sun Village arc]], she's ambushed and captured by Kyôka at the Succubus Eyes headquarters, and taken to Tartaros where she is briefly transformed into a demon soldier for Tartaros after Kyôka forces her to withstand her reinforcement curse. Though she seems to like it shortly after awakening, it's only because of her hatred towards Erza, and she admits mid-battle she hates her new body and [[SuicideByCop tries getting herself killed by fighting Erza]].

* ThatWomanIsDead: She briefly renounces her humanity after she is [[ReforgedIntoAMinion transformed into a demon of Tartaros]]. However, she pulls a HeelFaceTurn after the conclusion of the battle with Tartaros.

* WeaponizedTeleportation: She can teleport herself next to opponents for a surprise attack (such as when she stabbed Kagura InTheBack) or teleport ''then'' within her reach, such as when she teleports Lucy next to her so she can kick her. In ''100 Fairy Quest'' she demonstrates she can teleport herself ''inside'' large opponents so she can rip them apart from the inside.

* EasilyForgiven: Even after what she's done during the Grand Magic Games, Erza doesn't hold a grudge against her and tries talking her into returning to Saber Tooth during their next encounters. Her guild mates also harbor no resentment towards her, with Sting and Rogue personally rescuing her during the Tartaros arc, and everyone welcoming her back. After Tartaros's demise, Lucy forgives Minerva for her NoHoldsBarredBeatdown in the naval battle.

* AnimeChineseGirl: A PlayedWith example. She has the design of a Chinese ActionGirl, down to the UsefulNotes/[{Qipao}}, OdangoHair, and hand-to-hand fighting skills, but is more of a DragonLady due to her cruel personality and sexualized appearance. But after her HeelFaceTurn, she does begin to be drawn as more cute than sexy and gains many silly traits like being a BigEater.

* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: Excluding her UsefulNotes/[{Qipao}}, all her outfits bare her midriff, fitting with her being a DarkActionGirl. It also serves to show off her guild mark which is located on her navel.
