** With it, Celty is very capable of pulling off [[ImplausibleFencingPowers Implausible Bike Manuvers]] such as what's shown in episode 1, wherein she smacks a human trafficker in the face with her bike's front tire, then proceeds to ''smash him up against a pillar in a parking garage with nothing but said tire.''

* [=~Victoria's Secret Compartment~=]: Uses it to store a wad of money from Izaya in episode 4.

* [=~Wouldn't Hit A Girl~=]: Previous romantic developments have gone horribly, ''horribly'' wrong for just about everyone involved thanks to his temper (see HeartbrokenBadass and PrecociousCrush). As a result, Shizuo is generally disgusted enough at the thought of violence against women that it's actually quite difficult to provoke him into it.
* [=~Wouldn't Hurt a Child~=]: Shizuo has it deeply ingrained into his head that ChildrenAreInnocent. Thus when small child does something like try to murder him with a heavily modified taser, the event simply doesn't register.

** It's no wonder Erika and Walker ship each other and everyone else with him.

* OneTruePairing: In-universe; Erika declares Shizuo x Izaya is the best couple of Ikebukuro in the second OVA.

* InformedLoner: A mild example but Shizuo likes to complain about his supposed loneliness and even compares himself to Izaya in that matter. But in reality he has three friends that care about him (Celty, Tom and Shinra), is on good terms with his brother and posseses a number of acquaintances (Simon, Kadota and his gang and also Orihara twins). While his social life might not be particularly rich, a loner he is not.

* OnlySaneMan: Arguably one of the few mentally and emotionally well-balanced characters in [[DysfunctionJunction the entire cast]]. This especially stands out in the van gang, which consists of three manic {{Otaku}} - including one YaoiFangirl, somebody who [[TranquilFury will set you on fire if you piss him off]], and another guy who '''[[CargoShip REALLY]]''' [[CargoShip likes his van]]. Oh, and the first two are also TortureTechnicians to ''extremes''. Poor Kadota.

** This doubles as a RelationshipVoiceActor bit in an... odd way. In the dub only - [[JohnnyYongBosch Va]][[{{Trigun}}sh]]'s secretary in the latter half of the series is [[BridgetHoffman R]][[{{Trigun}}em]].

** It's more or less PlayedStraight in the light novels for the most part, however, [[TheChessmaster he does have a bigger plan]] for a lot of the [[Jerkass asshattery]] he pulls.

* ThereAreNoTherapists: There's no indication that Shizuo's ever even been ''offered'' medication to control his violent outburts.

* YamatoNadeshiko: She has a passive, soft-spoken and gentle personality, although she won't let others push her around all the time.

* SignLanguage: Via her PDA. This serves as her primary means of communication. When this isn't possible, she relies on a HandSignals.

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: A big-breasted ShrinkingViolet {{Meganekko}} with a DarkAndTroubledPast who doubles as a [[spoiler:HotChickWithASword. A ''{{Yandere}}'' sword.]]

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: A [[LosingYourHead Headless]] CuteMonsterGirl BikerBabe who rides a CoolBike and wears a SpyCatsuit.
