* AcrophobicBird: It's essentially a red recolor of [[EverythingsBetterWithPenguins Penmon]], more resembling a flightless Macaw.

* AnAxToGrind: It has its Dual Tomahawks that it uses to fight.

* SeldomSeenSpecies: Its only proper appearances up until now were in video games, so seeing Muchomon pop up in this reboot was slightly surprising.

* BlindingBangs: His hair's long enough to cover his entire face, though occasionally his left eye will show.

* DemotedToExtra: In both ''Anime/DigimonDataSquad'' and ''Anime/DigimonFusion'', Falcomon and Spadamon were important allies with Falcomon in particular being the partner Digimon of Ikuto Noguchi. Here, they're merely ally Digimon that the kids meet. Spadamon in particular takes it UpToEleven, formerly being the strongest of the Legend-Arms in ''Digimon Story: Lost Evolution''.

* AscendedExtra: Strabimon is the prior form of Wolfmon and Garummon, the human and beast spirits belonging to TheLancer of ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', Kouji Minamoto. Despite this, it never had an anime appearance until its episode. For bonus points, its first anime appearance has it co-star with its inspiration, Garurumon.

* BadassBeard: Has a goatee around its mouth like normal. Unlike most depictions of Nanimon however, these guys have the guts to earn the "badass" part.

* GoldAndWhiteAreDivine: Cherubimon was a leader of the Army of Light in the ancient war, and accordingly they're a predominantly white Digimon with gold accents.

* AdaptationalWimp: Of a sort. Olegmon is one of the Death Generals that was changed into a Mega level[[note]]the others being Dorbickmon and [=NeoVamdemon=][[/note]] instead of an Ultimate level, and certainly displays that kind of strength when fighting Joe and Vikemon. However, it distinctly lacks the shadows Jörmungandr and Surtr that reside in its shoulders.

* AdaptationalWimp: In ''Fusion'', it was around the Mega level in terms of power. Since then however, Gravimon was among the Death Generals that got retconned as an Ultimate level[[note]]The other two being Splashmon, who already appeared in this series, and Zamielmon[[/note]].

* DistressedDude: It's captured by a Soundbirdmon-controlled Nanomon and used to bait Koushiro into fighting [=GranKuwagamon=].
* SpaceWhale: It travels throughout cyberspace and lets Koushiro and Tentomon stay in its stomach for a while, in true whale fashion.

A mutant Digimon that lives in a trashcan. Gerbemon is an inventor that Taichi and Koushiro meet, who aims to take revenge on Raremon for his Tyumon assistants' demises.

* AdaptationalHeroism: The Gerbemon trio in the original ''Adventure'' were minions to the Dark Master Pinochimon, and actively attacked the heroes on command. Here, it's a heroic character driven by revenge for the deaths of his assistants that becomes fast friends with Koushiro. It also reappears to help the Chosen Ones discover the meanings behind their Crests.

* AdaptationalHeroism: The first Tyumon seen in anime canon was one of ThoseTwoGuys with Scumon, who initially antagonized Mimi and Palmon when they were separated from the group by Devimon. Shortly after, they became allies and helped Mimi, with Tyumon later going so far as to take a hit from Piemon to save her. Here, Tyumon is already a helpful assistant to Gerbemon and helps Koushiro in taking down Raremon.

A machine Digimon that initially antagonizes Koushiro into playing a game with it. It's revealed that it's a friend of Gerbemon that was only acting under mind control via Soundbirdmon, and is thus counted as an ally instead of an enemy.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Due to the Soundbirdmon transforming his desire to meet Koushiro into an obsession with surpassing him.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Turns out to be the case. In reality, it idolizes Koushiro and just wanted to get to know him; the Soundbirdmon turned that innocent desire into something darker.
* DeadlyGame: Challenges Koushiro to one of these by giving him riddles to solve; if he guesses wrong, one of his friends is taken away to be turned into a Nanomon.

* SparedByTheAdaptation: Unlike most Leomon in ''Digimon'' anime, this Leomon actually lives the entire way through, finally breaking the tradition of Leomon dying in every season.

* SacrificialLion: For the first time in anime canon, AVERTED. While he stays behind to protect [=ElDoradimon=] and appears to have been obliterated, he ultimately survives and lets the kids know that he, his companions, and [=ElDoradimon=] are okay.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Unlike most Leomon in ''Digimon'' anime, this Leomon actually survives a supposedly fatal encounter.

* AdaptationalBadass: Zigzagged. Gerbemon isn't a terribly powerful Digimon and, in ''Adventure'', three of them are taken out by Lilimon, [=MetalGreymon=] and [=MetalGarurumon=]. For comedic effect, Gerbemon's Poop Bazooka attack does very little to stop [=MetalGreymon=]'s Giga Destroyer, simply getting knocked away with no resistance. [[LethalJokeCharacter However, it also has a black hole in its trashcan that can suck up unsuspecting foes, which it almost did to Hikari.]] Here, while Gerbemon doesn't do a lot of fighting, it's an inventor that wields a bazooka that shoots ''ice'' instead of poop, and its inventions go a long way in helping take down Raremon. In addition, it still has the black hole and attempts to use it against Burpmon. Of course, considering this is [[{{Kevlard}} Burpmon]] we're talking about, it's not very effective.

A warrior-type Digimon clad in silver armor, who is always accompanied by its golden bird Freyja. It fought in the Darkness War and fell in battle, but consigned its soul to the Digital World to continue its duties. It tests Taichi to see whether he's worthy of the Crest of Courage.
