* TheChainsOfCommanding: Very stressed and isolated by her position, and beneath her mask, she's desperate for a personal connection with others.
* TheChessmaster: Very skilled at getting things to work out for her. So skilled that Nav is actually one of the few to notice she even does it.

* IHatePastMe: [[spoiler: After having her personality changed to remove her negative aspects, bringing her close to her canon characterisation, she shows a lot of distain for the mare she used to be]].

* TheMedic: A child prodigy of healing magic, she never had a chance to pursue her calling due to Discord's actions but is still incredibly gifted in the field.

* TheTease: Sometimes teases Nav in this way, though usually with a mind to getting those urges fulfilled later.

* WellIntentionedExtremist: She'll do whatever it takes to protect Equestria, and was fully prepared [[ThePurge to purge]] her friends and allies at one point if they refused to help her cover up the art of "true magic".

* BadDreams: Regularly suffers from them, though Flo is able to help alleviate these.

* ArchEnemy: Is one [[EnemiesWithDeath for Discord]], due to [[spoiler: his past self thwarting Discord's attempts to kill himself]].Ends up becoming one for Celestia, due to the number of times he ruins her plans.

* AntiVillain: The real face of Celestia, well hidden under a front. While revealed to have committed many awful crimes over the course of history, she ultimately desires and wants to keep her power out of a benevolent desire to keep her ponies safe and restore the alicorn race, rather than an instrinsic desire for power and wealth. Celestia's main weakness is that she sees no other way to achieve her goals other than her own methods, and views any other attempts as too risky and unpredictable. While not delighting in evil, she is comfortable with the status quo and seems incapable of considering that there are better ways.

* : UnwittingPawn: Placed into power by Discord, but refuses to accept that her methods of keeping ponies safe and at the top has only furthered Discord's plans.

* WellIntentionedExtremist:
** She'll do whatever it takes to protect Equestria, and was fully prepared [[ThePurge to purge]] her friends and allies at one point if they refused to help her cover up the art of "true magic".
** While Celestia is revealed to have done plenty of vile things to cement her power

* BerserkButton: Hates being viewed as weak, and while he doesn't have many standards, you should ''not'' assume he has none whatsoever.
