* TheHero: He's the main protagonist, TheChosenOne of the ArchangelGabriel and it's implied he'll have a big role to play in the upcoming war.

* TheProtagonist: He's the main character of the comic.

* BlackSheep: Considered to be this by the Great Church. Them using sigils and magic is seen as pagan and unholy by a lot of members.

* HurtingHero: Ezra hides it well, but a lot of times he doubts he can be what Gabriel and his church need him to be. He wants to protect people with all his heart, but his lacking conviction prevents him from unleashing his true potential as Gabriel's chosen one. He's also painfully aware how weird and unusual it is for an exorcist to not believe in God, but he can't really do anything about it.

* PeekABangs: Has her right eye covered by a few strands of hair. Father Aaron cuts them off in episode 35, revealing that she, too, is contracted.

* BadassInCharge: She's the leader of the squad Ezra and her are in.

* BadassInCharge: He regularly spars with Ezra and it's stated that Ezra never managed to beat him. He also isn't very concerned when Ezra raises the possibility that the Great Church could attack him if he's left alone with them. In fact, he seems excited at the prospect of it. In episode 36 he cofnronts the demon lord ''on his own'' and ''wins''.

* BareYourMidriff: Her combat-outfit gives the reader a very good look at her abs.

* BareYourMidriff: His combat-outfit is even more revealing than Samson's. It leaves his chest as well as his belly exposed.

* PowerParasite: He's able to dorectly absorib manna, which makes magical attacks pretty much useless against him.

* BewareTheNiceOnes: He might be chipper and happy most of the time, but he has a severe hatred of demons, to the point that when Sunny's demonic powers are revealed, he suggests ''torturing him'' to make sure he's completely human.

* EvilIsPetty: She deliberately provokes Samson several times, doesn't even thank her for saving her life during their patrol together and later on calls Providence' way of exorcism "bullshit".

** Allows Valac to beat up a defenseless Sunny, commenting that if he couldn't take it, then he wasn't a worthy vessel. She also downright gloats about being responsible for Lily's death and calls her "weak".

The Church of Proviendce' patrons. Messengers from God who grant exorcists power in exchange for their service.

* TheAgeless: The angels play this a lot more straight than the demons. Angels still have unlimited manna within them, so they'll never age and they'll never die.
* AngelicAbomination: If the illustrations in episode 4 are accurate, angels look a lot like demons, with the only difference being the color of their skin and eyes.
* ChestInsignia: Just like the demons, the angels have golden sigils of their names on their chest. Justified, since demons are {{Fallen Angel}}s.
* EnergyBeings: Angels are made of manna. An angel who loses their ability to create manna becomes a demon.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: Judging by Gabriel's appearance, angels in this universe look like humans with black skin and golden eyes and have no wings. They're also completely made of manna. Then again, Gabriel might just be posing as a human.
* TheGhost: Though frequently mentioned and talked about, no angel aside from Gabriel ever shows up in the story in person.

* [[BigBrotherInstinct Big Sister Instinct]]: She may complain about it, but Samson is always looking out for Ezra. She cheers him up and comforts him when his HeroicSelfDeprecation sets in and gives him ToughLove when he gets ahead of himself.

* HeroWithAnFInGood: As an exorcist she's supposed to protect people. But she shows zero concern for Esther indirectly killing an innocent woman and remains stubborn in her belief that KillEmAll is the best way to get rid of demons.

* [[AloofBigBrother Aloof Big Sister]]: Sunny describes her as being incredibly arrogant and stuck up when she was still alive, even admitting that he hated her for it. However, she still loved him enough to face down an entire demon horde to protect him and presumably die in the process.

* ChainPain: His WeaponOfChoice is a kunai attached to a long chain.

* {{Teleportation}}: One of his powers is to "port" people to certain locations. Though episode 36 implies he has a limit on how many he can transport at once.

* AncientEvil: Demons are FallenAngels who have been around since the beginning of time. And they're all unambiguously evil.

* ChestInsignia: Just like the demons, the angels have golden sigils of their names on their chest. Justified, since demons are FallenAngels.

* BaldWomen: She doesn't have hair, which emphazises the sigil on her forehead.

* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Her preferred method of using her SpiderLimbs. She uses the sharp points to literally pin her opponents and drag them around.

* PeekABangs: Has her right eye covered by a few strands of hair. Father aaron cuts them off in episode 35, showing that she, too, is contracted.

* ASharedSuffering: Him and Sunny have a nice bonding moment when Ezra emphathizes with his DarkAndTroubledPast and admits he used to be PlaguedByNightmares as well.

* MadeOfIron: Demons can yank him around, directly hit him with demon magic and land a direct hit when he's distracted - it barely bothers him.

** [[spoiler: In episode 17 it actually looks like his and Sunny's relationship is starting to imrpove. But then he keeps pressing the topic of demons, after Sunny repeatedly made it clear he doesn't want to talk about them. Predictably Sunny has a [[FreakOut freak-out]] and throws Ezra out of his apartment.]]

[[spoiler: It's later revealed that she was indeed kidnapped, but died anyway when the ritual to make her a vessel for anothe rpowerful demon failed.]]

* GreaterScopeVillain: She is behind the demon attacks on Sunny and was most likely the one who ordered his family killed, if she didn't murder them herself.
