ZigZagged, however, as he was given even more roles to the point that by Season 3B he was made part of the main cast (see PromotionToOpeningTitles below).

The removed tropes were not accurate for Gloria. "Suddenly Ethnicity" refers to cases where the characters/audiences are meant to be shocked by the character's ethnicity, not where they just so happen to be a person of color. "Token Houseguest" relies on the character not being part of the primary family unit and having trouble fitting into it (which, gloria is adopted quickly into the family and her place there is never strained). Gloria never "took a level in kindness" because she was never portrayed as being a jerkass to begin with and in fact Cricket is rightfully punished and made to apologize to her in every early episode where she's angry with him, this is also the reason for the removal of "Asshole Victim" from the page. "Strong Family Resemblance" was removed as well, as she does not appear to be identical to either parent and in fact in a normal mix of their features (the original description noted that she had her fathers hair, mothers eyes, and a mixture of both parents' skintones).

* ButtMonkey: Life seems determined to make Gloria miserable. [[AssholeVictim Though sometimes she deserves it,]] mostly earlier on before her character development.

to:

* ButtMonkey: Life seems determined to make Gloria miserable. [[AssholeVictim Though sometimes she deserves it,]] mostly earlier on before her character development.

* DefrostingTheIceQueen: Near the end of "Critterball Crisis", Cricket decides to stand up for her when her boss enters the Big Coffee and threatens to fire her, and Cricket agrees to take a part-time job and make amends by working off the damages.

* JerkassHasAPoint: She acts extremely hard towards the Greens after Cricket accidentally launches a chicken into the cafe, but it is understandable; especially since it's implied it wasn't the first time an incident like this occurred. She warms up to them over time.

* StrongFamilyResemblance: Gloria's blue hair color came from her father, while her oval eye shape came from her mother (it's unknown if Mr. Sato has oval eyes as well, since he wears square glasses), and her purple skin tone is her mother's pink skin and her father's blue skin mixed together.
* SuddenlyEthnicity,: In "Rent Control", Gloria's surname and ethnicity are revealed when her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sato come to visit her, indicating that she is Japanese.

* TokenHouseguest: Moved in with the Greens in the last third of S2, and the only one unrelated to them.
* TookALevelInKindness: Evolves into a more kinder character as the series goes, which seems to fully cement once she moves in with the Greens.

Season 3 is showing that Gloria isn't getting that many more appearances, despite living with the Greens. It's more like she cameos more often.

A former cafe girl who used to work at Big Coffee next door to The Greens' house. A bit grumpy and ill-tempered, she becomes friends and co-workers with Cricket. Following Big Coffee's shutdown, she now resides with the Greens and has her own cafe. She is an honorary Green.
