Or possibly, two sets of parents, since neither Dakota or Anastasia know for certain which of them was actually pregnant at the time, as both had reason to believe that either, or both of them, could have been. [[spoiler: The "both Dakota and Anastasia were pregnant theory" gets a boost when Cerise fissions Melissa into her light and dark aspects.]] They've even theorized that it's possible Mel may have [[spoiler:been created by whatever force fused them together, since they separated]] when her umbilical cord was cut (Sandi promptly votes for this one because it's [[RuleOfCool just so cool]]).

* SkewedPriorities: Mel was aghast to hear that her mother wasn't popular in highschool, yet thought nothing of the fact that Ana had [[spoiler: tried to banish her classmates to the Shadow Realm]] out of jealousy.

** Prior to that, she mentioned the possibility that Faith [[spoiler: might be the traitor and joked about her sleeping with the enemy]]. At the end of the chapter, she learned Faith talks in her sleep and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/these-vulnerable-moments realized she'd been right]].

* InnocentlyInsensitive: Though from Sandi's point of view, there was nothing "innocent" about it. When Jacqui mentioned the possibility of Faith being [[spoiler: the traitor and joked about her sleeping with the enemy]], Sandi [[DudeNotFunny took offense to both insinuations and belted her.]]

* ObfuscatingStupidity: Between casting an illusion spell on multiple people at once and disrobing to cover for the fact she's rummaging through her teacher's desk, one has to wonder if she really is a ditz or is it just an act. ''Dangerously Chloe'' reveals that she was a straight-A student with no interest in boys until [[spoiler: succubus Chloe messed with her personality stats, turning her into a GeniusDitz with a severe case of DistractedByTheSexy hardwired into her brain.]]

* AmbiguouslyBi: She's had at least two boyfriends in the past, though both turned out to be gay and wound up dating each other instead. And while she pretended to date [[spoiler: Callista]], she seems to have genuine feelings for Skye. [[spoiler: Or not]].

* BadBoss: She gets angry at Skye for [[spoiler: not knowing whether Melissa and the student council were all teleported, even though it was were ''her'' plan. Making it her own fault for not making sure it got carried out.]]
* BecomingTheMask: She initially claimed to be straight and only pretended to date [[spoiler: Callista]] in order to gain popularity. But as time went on, she seemed to develope genuine affection for her. [[spoiler: Until she no longer needed her and tried to have her killed along with the rest of the student council]].
* BigBadFriend: Cerise's jealousy and resentment towards Mel culminates in her betraying her and Jacqui, by luring them into a trap and outting them as witches. Then she [[spoiler: severes Faith's psychic connection to school and [[AllYourBaseAreBelongToUs uses it to takeover]] - right before attempting to mass murder them along with the student council, by teleporting them into a volcano]]!

* BreakTheHaughty: Any time she's shown up by Melissa, or whenever Mel gains more recognition than her. The worst two instances being when she was [[http://www.magickchicks.com/skiiiiiiid humiliated in front of the entire school]], after challenging Mel for the next combat exam. And especially when she thought [[spoiler: Hecate was about to bestow her with a new power and make her the Coven's new leader. Except Hecate was [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-meant-for-your-world talking about Mel, not her.]]]]

* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: She's backstabbed Melissa at every opportunity, from shoving Mel into the path of genderbending beam to save herself, to plotting ways to take over, and even [[http://www.magickchicks.com/forbidden-magicks tried to cheat]] for their match at the combat exam. But the worst example, by far, was when she [[spoiler: outted Melissa and Jacqui as witches while they were alone and [[http://www.magickchicks.com/cut-their-heads-off surrounded by the student council!]] She then proceeds to attempt killing them all by teleporting them into a volcano. She includes Callista, her would be girlfriend among her victims. Her second girlfriend, Skye, is also betrayed by Cerise as part of a gambit to eliminate Melissa.]]
* TheCorrupter: She got Skye down her path for her StartofDarkness, and it's shown in recent strips [[spoiler: after she drinks Hekate's potion that she is becoming "Mr. Inky," a black-skinned being that helps finish it when Skye willingly absorbs the excess energy to save Cerise from dying.]]

* DidntThinkThisThrough: While she's good at manipulating others and playing on their emotions, [[AndThenWhat she never seems to plan ahead]], or have contingency plans in case they fail. ** Faith also said it was the reason Cerise's plan to [[spoiler: kill them]] failed. She ''did'' teleport them as she intended, but as Faith pointed out, it also [[spoiler: took the ground they were standing on ''with them'', which plugged the volcano [[http://www.magickchicks.com/ya-done-goofed and protected them from its toxic fumes]] long enough for them to escape]].
** PlayedForLaughs in the epilogue. [[spoiler: Melissa keeps her promise and asks Cerise what she wants the coven to do. However, Cerise never thought about what she'd do once she was in charge [[AllForNothing and decides to just go with what Melissa wants]]]].
* DisproportionateRetribution: She was willing to [[spoiler: kill her two best friends]], along with seven other girls, simply because she envied Mel and [[MistreatmentInducedBetrayal didn't like the way Mel treated her.]]

* EvilIsPetty: Everything she's done at their new school has been for the sake of one upping Melissa and she doesn't care who she has to step on, or whose feelings she hurts, to do it... [[http://www.magickchicks.com/taking-a-while except that one time.]] She's even gone so far as to [[spoiler: out her friends as witches and has allegedly teleported them into a volcano!]]

** But the most egregious instance, was when she literally showed up on Mel's doorstep to try to [[spoiler: kill her]] [[http://www.magickchicks.com/chapter-18_-_can-melissa-come-out-and-play while both her parents were home]], and was brazen enough to brag about [[spoiler: having killed Jacqui]] and the others by allegedly [[spoiler: teleporting them into a volcano]]. Once again, not knowing what she was getting herself into[[note]]Anastasia happens to be Queen Obscuria, a former Class A supervillain. While Dakota was formerly Musical Starlight, a MagicalGirl powerful enough to single-handedly repel the invasion of Montreal 18 years ago[[/note]] and was only [[http://www.magickchicks.com/not-so-fast spared another potential curbstomping]] thanks to [[spoiler: Hecate teleporting Mel's parents [[http://www.magickchicks.com/offerings-upon-me to her location]]]].

* ItsAllAboutMe: [[http://www.magickchicks.com/hope-it-pleases-you A picture is worth a thousand words.]] It's bad enough that she's [[UnwittingPawn using Callista]] to climb Artemisis' social ladder, but she stoops as low as to use [[spoiler: a nude painting of herself]] to hog the spotlight, at her girlfriend's birthday party!

* JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope: She starts off using amoral means to acquire popularity, but was only marginally worse than Melissa. As she grew more obsessed with one-upping Mel (and popularity, in general), she became increasingly underhanded, shpallow, and manipulative. Her first act was to use her newly acquired power to plant a suggestion in the minds of the student council and her former friends, to have them all go into the woods, so she could get rid of them permanently]].

** Chapter 14 has her deal with this. [[spoiler: Dying due to her PhlebotinumOverload, her spirit runs into pre-corruption Skye, who happens to be in the same part of the time-space continuum. And power within her turns Cerise into "Mr. Inky," who brings Skye to Hekate and her overloaded-and-dying self. Which Hekate applauds, as it meant Cerise knew when she needed to do to save herself. Skye is willing to do what she needs to save Cerise...and Cerise apologizes for making her cry. Then they kiss...]]

** Her surname, "Darkshade," was used to set up another reveal when, [[spoiler: her natural hair color turned out to be black]]. Hence, "dark shade".
