The Protagonist of the series, Mikan came all the way from her secluded hometown to Tokyo in order to meet her best friend, Hotaru, in the titular academy. After Narumi discovers that she possesses an Alice, she is enrolled into the academy. While attending, Mikan discovers many truths about herself, her parents, and the dark secrets of the Alice Academy. She has the Nullification Alice and is assigned to the Special ability class.

Hotaru is Mikan's best friend, who left for Alice Academy at the beginning of the series, and was the reason for Mikan's eventual enrollment in the academy.
