* GambitRoulette: Some of his plans are designed to fail from the start so that another can succeed. A good example would be the Sisters project, which is supposed to fail from the start so that the MISAKA Network would spread worldwide for his Artificial Heaven plan to succeed.

* GambitRoulette: Some of his plans are designed to fail from Combined with XantosGambit and XantosSpeedChess. Aleister's plan does not require all the start so various steps to succeed. Or any of the various steps to succeed for that another can succeed. A good example would be matter. If a part of the Sisters project, which is supposed to fail from the start so that the MISAKA Network would spread worldwide for his Artificial Heaven plan is a success, excellent. If it fails? Then it is merely a step onto a new path to succeed.his eventual victory.

!!Ryoko Kuriba
[[quoteright:200:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/t004.jpg]]

A genius scientist and pioneer in the field of cyborg research who first appears in the Dream Ranker arc of the Railgun manga. Took part in a grisly experiment whereby her body and brain were split up and rearranged into two copies of herself, with cyborg parts replacing the missing limbs and organs of each.
----
* CrazyPrepared: Carries around a device that can counter cyborg technology, knowing the Doppelganger might try to attack her.
* Cyborg
* DarkAndTroubledPast: A childhood accident nearly killed her and she only survived thanks to a partial lung transplant from her mother. However, this caused her mother to weaken and fall ill, driving Ryoko to research cybernetics in the hopes of saving her.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: Totally averted. Ryoko suffered no physical or psychological effects from being separated and subsequently recombined.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: The experiment she performed on herself involved slicing herself into pieces and combining the resultant parts with cybernetics in order to create two copies of herself. Her biological parts were recombined after a year, while the cybernetics were used to create the Doppelganger.
* IgnoredExpert: Warned her fellow scientists that putting her discarded cyborg parts back together in order to study whether they now had a soul was a bad idea. They really should have listened to her.
* NerdGlasses
* ProfessorGuineaPig: Nobody was willing to volunteer for her cyborg experiment, so she had the procedure performed on herself.
* TeenGenius: A savant in the field of cybernetics despite being only fourteen years old.
