** When Vince is shot by Lt. Souther just as he's about to shoot Deloris, an eagle-eyed viewer can catch the Reverend Mother lunging forward, either to grab Deloris' arm and pull her to safety or [[TakingTheBullet take the bullet]] for her. Whatever her intention, it was a very brave thing to do and shows just how much she's come to care for Deloris.

** The pilot isn't being totally unreasonable. $1,500 isn't that much for a last-minute 219-mile flight in a helicopter big enough to carry 15 people. That's a lot of fuel and the pilot has to do it round trip. However, these nuns had raised ten times that amount of money in a few weeks thanks to Deloris's work with the choir, and had a concert with ''the Pope'' attending coming up, which would obviously raise even more. If the pilot hadn't been stuck on getting paid upfront, it might have occurred to him that he could make the flight out of charity and the nuns would be able to cover the costs for him later.

* It's a small moment, but at the beginning of the movie, Vince tries to smooth things over with Deloris by sending her an extremely expensive mink coat. Deloris loves it, but she discovers it's monogrammed "CL"--as in "Connie [=LaRocca=]", Vince's wife. The other girls in the act tell Deloris that she should keep the coat for putting up with Vince, but Deloris--who's been shown to be snarky, sarcastic, and opportunistic up until this point--shows her HiddenHeartOfGold by doing the right thing:
-->'''Tina''': Put it back on! it's yours now, you deserve it!
-->'''Deloris''': NO. I don't ''deserve'' it. I haven't ''earned'' it. You don't ''earn'' other people's wives' fur coats, OK? I think it's time to just go upstairs, give it back to him, and [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere get the hell out of this dump.]]

* After Deloris is kidnapped, the nuns rally to save her by asking for a pilot to charter a private plane for them. The {{Jerkass}} guy tries to charge them a huge amount of money, and it seems like they won't be able to make it to Reno. So they decide to break out the most powerful weapon in their arsenal...''religious guilt.'' The sisters, led by Reverend Mother, begin to pray aloud that when the pilot is visited by God's wrath, He will show more mercy than the jerk did to these poor, needy nuns. In less than a minute, the pilot is rushing them into the plane.

*** Can't forget the monsignor tricking Mother Superior as well. He clearly hears Mother Superior berating Mary Clarence for the new music, then bursts in and thanks ''her'' instead of Deloris for the new music and promises to praise her for it to the bishop. He can also probably tell that Deloris is lying, given that he's likely been serving with her for years, but thinks the idea could work and doesn't want her to destroy it before they even try.

** Really, that whole segment counts. First, Deloris sneakily tricks the monsignor into saying that the Mother Superior suggested that the nuns do community service, but is too humble to admit it (a BatmanGambit that goes off perfectly). Then the nuns take to the streets, and do all kinds of simple but powerful things: they make a playground out of old junk, run a soup kitchen/garden for homeless people, and bond with a group of teenagers through dancing and the jump roping mentioned above. It's clear that both the sisters and the community are both thrilled from the experience, and the neighborhood is revitalized thanks to their hard work.
** To say nothing of the fact that the church, which had visible scaffolding and collapsing parts before Deloris took over the choir, raises ''fifteen thousand dollars'' in a few weeks!

* Really, the entire rescue operation is stunning. Consider that these are a group of largely cloistered nuns who haven't beyond the boundaries of their neighborhood in years, then consider that they're rushing into a casino in Reno and fighting against the Mafia itself to rescue a woman they've only known for a few months. That takes chutzpah!
** Later, when faced with a furious and lethally armed Vince, the nuns refuse to back down, standing with Deloris and not abandoning her for a second.
