* DismemberingTheBody: Tōma Kōzaburō was a SerialKiller who dismembered his victims, turned their body parts into plastic via plastination, and arranged them for [[MadArtist his "art"]]. When Kougami discovers what remains of [[spoiler:Sasayama]], this causes his Psycho-pass hue to go dark, leading to his demotion as Enforcer. Despite Touma being apprehended, his modus operandi is inherited by [[spoiler:a high school student named Rikako Oryo, who butchers her classmates, uses plastination on their body parts and assembles them to mimic her father's paintings.]]

** The novelization identifies the double-barreled shotgun as being a Beretta. If you're familiar with the market for Beretta shotguns, their over-under double barrels are outrageously expensive (the cheapest models sell for around $2,700 while the most expensive model, the SO Sparviere, tops out at '''$90,000'''), which illustrates Senguji's status as one of the {{Fiction500}}.

Prospective immigrants to Japan are required to take a Japanese first name to obtain permanent residency status, although after this they are not required to use it in their everyday lives. Kei Mikhail Ignatov, his wife Maiko Maya Stronskaya, and his deceased brother Akira Vasily Ignatov are all examples of this. First victim, Asahi Rick Fellows, also follows this[[spoiler:, as does his wife, Kaori Adele Fellows, after her immigration application is accepted]].

** Kirito Kamui, unlike Makishima, thought that Sybil System can be changed, but it needs a judge for it's decisions.
** Tsunemori Akane, over the course of the series, understood that despite the obvious problems Sybil System has, it still helps people and thus is needed for the time being.

* ChangeVsStatusQuo: The world of Psycho-Pass revolves around Sybil System - ArtificialIntelligence that monitors every aspect of japanese people's life, most notable being their crime coefficent (ThoughtCrime), and different ways characters think about it:

* AsimovsThreeKindsOfScienceFiction: It's the Social type and the invention is the Sybil System, which instantaneously analyses a person's psychological profile and [[ThoughtCrime calculates the likelihood of that person committing a crime]]. Then any threat to society is the Public Safety Bureau. The anime's CentralTheme is whether the Sybil System and the Bureau [[UtopiaJustifiesTheMeans are worth their cost]] since they rob people of their freedom, privacy, and security; and the former can be as narrow-minded and bigoted as the humans programming it.

* SurprisinglyGoodEnglish:
** The second opening theme, "Out of Control" by Nothing's Carved in Stone, has the whole song entirely in English which is pronounced correctly and easy to understand.
** In general, all the English text that appears in-universe is grammatically accurate and mostly spelled correctly, notwithstanding some {{Engrish}} instances. As a matter of fact, the official languages of the Public Safety Bureau appear to be English and Japanese, as evidenced in episode 2 of the first season when Akane writes a report about the previous day's events and the text on her monitor is in both English and Japanese.
