* MythologyGag: There was a movie Amata kept playing on the movie theater he works in about the events of [[GenesisOfAquarion twelve millennia past]]. The world essentially forgot about it, but the theme song stayed incredibly popular, enough to [[SparklingStreamOfTears bring tears]] to Mikono's eyes.

** [[spoiler: To be fair, as expressed [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation above]], both can only accept the fact that they're once again leaving their son since they don't have any other choice, being already dead and all. And ever since they went to Altair together, they have experienced nothing but suffering. Alicia has been isolated all those years while Izumo makes choices he hates himself for making, choices that he eventually realizes too late that have only made things worse for the people of both worlds. As harsh as the parting scene may have been depicted to the viewers, both have only found scant comfort in being united with their son one last time, being finally freed from their respective prisons by the said meeting with their son and lastly in finding faith in Amata that he will save the worlds from their mistakes which they are denied from correcting themselves.]]
** [[spoiler: However this does not stop Alicia from being a KarmaHoudini as Kagura the other half of their son that Alicia knew about but did ''nothing'' before she fell into that slumber was treated horribly by Mykage and had his life entirely ruined because of her keeping quiet. The fact that she never tries to see the other half of their son despite knowing about him makes her actions not that justified.]]
** [[spoiler: '''Mykage''' is this. The worst he got hit with is that he a heart shaped attacked used against him and his plans foiled. But now he is a part of the man he loves and hates for all ''eternity'' just like he always wanted. He even describes it as being warm inside Fudou.]]
** Kagura. [[spoiler: He's killed nearly a dozen Neo-Deava students, even more Altair soldiers, and his and Amata's father Izumo, yet is welcomed into Neo-Deava with open arms.]]

** Mikono counts too. [[spoiler:Through the series she protects Kagura, who regardless of reasons, '''is''' part of Vega's enemy forces, had killed 10 students of Neo Deava and nearly killed Amata on episode 15, and no one seems to call her out on it, ever. Regarding the love triangles, she also keeps thinking about Kagura and making her own made-up misunderstandings between her and Zessica, making Amata apologize for things he didn't do in the first place, and Amata never gets angry or frustrated at her.]]

* VideoGame/SuperRobotWars: Makes its debut in ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ Super Robot Wars Z3 Time Prison (Jigoku-hen)]]'', replacing [[Anime/GenesisOfAquarion the original series]] from the Z series lineup, only for the original to return in Z3 Celestial Prison (Tengoku-hen) in side-by-side appearance with this series.

* VideoGame/SuperRobotWars: Makes its debut in ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsZ Super Robot Wars Z3 Time Prison (Jigoku-hen)]]'', replacing [[Anime/GenesisOfAquarion the original series]] from the Z series lineup.

* KarmaHoudini: [[spoiler:Alicia and Izumo don't seem to be too torn up about abandoning Amata on Vega. What's even worse is that when they both die in Episode 24, their spirits essentially ascend to heaven and they leave all of Vega's and Altair's problems for Amata to solve. Many fans were not happy about the UnfortunateImplications that it's totally okay to abandon your kids for almost their entire lives as long as you apologize to them afterwards.]]

** Sazanka is a tanned [[MacrossFrontier Ranka Lee]] (straight off another Kawamori anime) with braids and dark hair, down to sharing [[MegumiNakajima the same voice actress]]. She even makes Ranka's famous hand gesture at the end of the opening.

** Sazanka is shown performing [[Anime/MacrossFrontier Ranka's]] trademark Kira pose in the opening credits. Also doubles as an ActorAllusion, as both are voiced by MegumiNakajima.

* AntiVillain: Majority of Altair's HumanAliens has noble reasons for the abductions, [[spoiler:namely a method to regenerate their dying race with "Rare Igunas," women with the potential to become the "True Eve."]] Unfortunately for them [[spoiler:Mykage [[HiddenAgendaVillain has his own agenda]], and that doesn't include their scramble for survival.]]

Due to the testosterone flooding her system, she couldn't stop talking in a stereotypical macho way.]]
