That Guy: I know the game isn't out yet, so maybe I shouldn't have made a page, but my justification is that Duke Nukem Forever has a page, so...

Rebochan: Eh, why the hell not? It's not like we can't change stuff as we know more about the game.

I agree that it is perfectly reasonable to have the page - The Other Wiki does, and we take pride in being as complete and more informal, right? However. WHY ARE THERE SPOILER TAGS WHEN ALL WE HAVE TO GO ON ARE THE TRAILERS?!?!?! If it is IN THE TRAILERS, Trailers Always Spoil notwithstanding, we shouldn't bother tagging it - don't you think? I mean, if it's in the trailers You Should Know This Already.

Rebochan: Because we don't know if the scene as it is in the game is a spoiler, and a lot of people do not watch trailers. I'm just playing it safe for the time being. And for what it's worth, I'm usually the first person to hate on spoiler tags.

I spoiled myself already: http://www.viddler.com/explore/GamingParodies/videos/144/; can we declare Vanille X Fang the main Les-Yay relationship in the game already?

Chris X: All right, there's one thing that needs discussion. We know what Jihl did to Sazh was a very much low blow. But... does that one single act instantly peg her down as a Complete Monster? All we know so far is that only Sazh and his son was the victim, we don't know if Jihl did that to a laundry list of innocent people (compare that to Professor Hojo!), or if she revels on being evil bitch and pretty much made the world suffer for her own sake. One crime against the apparent Ensemble Dark Horse, and she's now a Complete Monster? Geez, talk about overreacting...

Doc Astaroth: Can someone help me to distinguish between Fanon and Canon? Is Hope really a Cake Eater towards Lightning?

Space Lizard: I find it hilarious that most of this page is slamming people who criticize the game...then the last trope mentions how sales have fallen and reception is mixed outside of Japanese reviewers. Seriously? Is "Fan Dumb" now any criticism, even some that is held by a large amount of fans?

zanbuti: Would anybody mind if I edit out most of the cases of people being called fan dumb? Seriously, whenever there's a complaint about the game, there' usually somebody calling anybody who has the complaint fandumb

Gfrequency: On the other hand, most of it really is fan dumb. Final Fantasy fans are notoriously unpleasable. A person can make valid criticisms, but the majority of the complaints concerning any FF game that has yet to be released are a bunch of knee-jerk reactions based on uninformed forum posts based on rumors from someone halfway across the country, and a fair number of those are really hard to believe unless you really want something to complain about. "I heard it's twenty hours long! I'm not playing it!" "Eww, there's a female protagonist! I'm not playing it!" "There aren't any towns! I'm not playing it!" "It's more linear than Oblivion! I'm not playing it!" If someone has a valid point and brings up a specific criticism, I'm all for it, and as a twenty-year fan of the series I am not one to just praise whatever Square puts in front of me (after all, I realize I'm in the vast minority who couldn't stand Final Fantasy X and adored Final Fantasy XII). What bothers me about modern fandom is the fact that none of these people have played the thing yet. Not only have they not played it, they're outright refusing to play it based on what a complete stranger says on Gamefaqs. This is the epitome of Fan Dumb. It may not be "polite" to say it, but it's true. Use of the trope is justified.
