Violet: I removed
- In Breakfast of the Gods, Sugar Bear rejects an appeal to assist in a rescue mission. In reply to a questioning "I don't get it," he says, "I hope you never do."
Because he isn't a cynic, he just dosn't want to release is super powered evil side.
- Interesting real-life subversion: Warhammer 40000 is extremely popular with (and increasingly marketed towards) children and teenagers, despite the setting proudly being among the darkest, most awful imaginable.
...how is this a subversion? @_@ How does it have anything to do with the trope at all? It's not actually saying that idealism is for kids.
movie007: When thinking about this trope, does The Logical Song by Supertramp come to anyone else's mind?
Cambias: I cut out this entry: "* People who assume socialists are mostly spoiled rich kids. These people also qualify as Jerkass and Too Dumb to Live." Because it is unecessarily polemical, plus it makes no sense.
